Hey BEAT family! This is a very important video for two reasons. First, I want you to be well aware of these verses when you hear them being taken out of context and being misused thus leading many Christians astray. I hope you will not be led astray by these verses and certain members in these churches. Second, I want this to be a lesson on CORRECT Biblical interpretation so that you are rightly dividing the word of God. Let me know below if you have any other questions and what your understanding of these verses have been. Also, let me know of some other verses that you are confused about so that I can address those in a future video. Enjoy!

*I LOVE THIS ANALOGY* When *GOD* wanted to create fish, *HE* spoke to the sea. When *GOD* wanted to create trees, *HE* spoke to the earth. But when *GOD* wanted to create man, *HE* turned to Himself. Then *GOD* said: "Let us make man in our image and in our likeness". Note: If you take a *fish* out of *the water* it will die; and when you remove a *tree* from *soil*, it will also die. Likewise, when man is disconnected from *GOD*, he dies. *GOD* is our natural environment. We were created to live in *His* presence. We have to be connected to *Him* because it is only in *Him* that life exists. Let's stay connected to *GOD*. We recall that *water* without *fish* is still *water* but *fish* without *water* is nothing. The *soil* without *tree* is still *soil* but *the tree* without *soil* is nothing ... *GOD* without man is still *GOD* but man without *GOD* is nothing. May God Bless You 🙏

The Bible is a book of lessons and if you were to follow this FALSE TEACHER, Allen Parr's teaching, nothing in the Bible is directed at you and I. This man is fake and phony. He is a false teacher. Abraham is our father and what God did to him is what we should expect God to do to us. Galatians 3:7, says, Know that if you are of faith, you are a child of Abraham - If you follow this man, he will lead you to hell, study the Bible for yourself and claim everything in it for you. False teachers start well, but once they have enough following, they lead you down to hell.

@@binoalab I agree with you that believers in Christ are children of Abraham. But when you say, whatever God did to Abraham, he will do to us, it becomes very very problematic: 1. No scripture says whatever God did to Abraham will be done to us 2. According to your reasoning, every believer should from day of conversion leave their family and go over to Canaan, be barren, live up to 90 years for the men, 75 years for the women before they have their one and only Biological child. And I can go on to show the impossibilities that refute your claim. Is there a blessing of Abraham that is ours? Yes, there is. According to Romans 5:1, which is a conclusion of the argument set forth first of all in the last verses of Romans 4, that blessing is JUSTIFICATION, Period! And no one can be more blessed than whoever has been justified because of their faith in Jesus Christ our Lord. God bless you Bro and God bless us, all members of his Church by faith in Christ as we grow in the knowledge of the faith we proclaim.

When you look at the history of Christianity, it’s been a battle of many theologies for the longest. I don’t believe any man has the perfect interpretation and we all fall susceptible to taking something out of context at any time. Some worse than others, sure, but I hope Jesus has mercy on us all for our shortcomings when it comes to understanding this complicated world we live in.

That's why we need the holyspirit to guide us, the bible you can do nothing..... Man at his best is vanity....... Understanding is primarily by the spirit not our theology.. That's why we have many doctrines, remember when Christ was leaving, he said and I will send you a helper who will teach you all things.. Let the holy spirit be the teacher and as the bible says, *..... The spirit searches that deep things of God and reveals them to men*.

Theres more error in thinking that you are 100% right on verses like his #5, the binding and loosing verse, then there is a mistake in leaving it open to interpretations such as it possibly being useful in performing deliverance... which, the binding and loosing is very useful in deliverance ministry and it has saved my hide before. What I am saying is, acting like you know it all is a mistake, especially on verses that are clearly open for interpretations like the one I mentioned above. No need to start a battle by accusing people of false doctrine over verses like that. It seems more damaging to the church as a whole then edifying. Call people out for important false doctrines not minor ones that either side might actually be correct on.. not verses where, who knows what the best interpretation with 100% assuredy besides Christ? Dont start drama over stuff like that by accusing people of false doctrine. Which is by all accounts a major claim to make against another believer and can become a down right insult if your heart is in the wrong place and your just trying to win a bible battle for your particular movements position.

This is why daily repentance is so important. What followers have to remember is any spiritual leader is not exempt from Ego. Misinterpretation of Scripture is the reason we have so many dominations of Christianity, we have to pray and read the word daily. God bless anyone who sees this, keep up the good fight in these tough times ahead.

Baptism of the spirit is just evidence of tongues. Speaking in tongues has two meanings. A angelic prayer and one that requires a interpretation. Angelic prayer is what poured out on Pentecost. I used to think that too because I never spoken in tongues. I used to wonder why I didn’t have the Holy Spirit until my Pentecostal preacher preached over it just being a gift and it’s a wonderful one but it’s only evidence of the Holy Spirit. Just like our fruits. Sorry you had that encounter. After that sermon I quit denying the gift of tongues as a unclean Spirit and then I stopped believing in didn’t have the Holy Spirit. The next couple weeks later I raised my arms and prayed like I never prayed before. I prayed so deep and intimate to God he interceded and filled me with the Holy Spirit with evidence of tongues.

Suzanne Brousseau, I don't read any books on Christianity because there is invariably a mistake in them, unless God tells me to read it. I listen to very few ministries as most invariably will come up with false statements and "back" them up with scriptures that don't apply to their statement. The Bible is my reference book, and a Bible Concordance, sometimes. When you know the truth, Jesus Christ, then the Holy Spirit reveals what is truth and what is lie to you. He confirms it in many ways, one of them being, reading comments here, and when they're true, something in me goes " That's It ! ". Same goes for when I'm talking to someone. Be surrendered and submitted to God always and you'll know "all things", as the Bible says.

I just don't see that you had an actual case - you MAY have realized there was MORE to the GOSPEL than you had - I was that way for maybe 5 years - but eventually the BIBLE and GOD met in UNITY over me and I GOT the baptism of the HOLY SPIRIT and LOTS more - BAM!!! I am QUITE sure that they wanted you to have all God wanted you to have - and nothing more. And GOD wanted you to speak in tongues . . . for communion with Him, if nothing more. 1 Cor 14:23 "Therefore if the whole church assembles together and all speak in tongues, and ungifted men or unbelievers enter, will they not say that you are mad?" @@paulrobinson9318 Now, brothers and sisters, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you, unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction? Even in the case of lifeless things that make sounds, such as the pipe or harp, how will anyone know what tune is being played unless there is a distinction in the notes? Again, if the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle? So it is with you. Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? You will just be speaking into the air. Undoubtedly there are all sorts of languages in the world, yet none of them is without meaning. If then I do not grasp the meaning of what someone is saying, I am a foreigner to the speaker, and the speaker is a foreigner to me. So it is with you. I was raised in the Pentecostal Church, and I disagree with the statements made here. I've never in my 30 yrs of life, heard any Pastor or preacher push the idea of "speaking things into existence" or being physically healed based on that specific verse. I've always understood it as being a spiritual healing. Also, I can't say they push monetary wealth, if anything I've experienced the complete opposite. Pentecostals put an emphasis on the power of The Holy Spirit, and Biblical Doctrine. On not conforming to the ways of the world, seperation, and serious Sanctification through the power of The Holy Spirit. GOD gave the 10 Comandantes to Israel, and that applies to us also as Gentiles. So, there are many things given and told to Israel that can also apply to us gentiles. Many times, it's GOD'S Character on display, His intentions to do us good, and work all things out for our well being. As far as speaking in tongues, Scripture says that's a manifestation of The Holy Spirit, a Spiritual Gift. 1 Corinth. 12:31 tells us to "earnestly desire higher gifts." Walking in the Spirit is evidence that Christ lives in us. That's how we test, and analyze ourselves to see if Christ truly dwells in us. God Bless 🙏🙏

Mr. Allen, these verses are not limited to being misinterpreted by "Pentecostals, Word of Faith, and Charismatics". I have kept company with Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, Lutherans, Catholics, and a host of other Believers who have used these verses "out of context". Indeed, zeal is not always balanced with knowledge. But this holds true for many denominations and Believers. It appears that misinterpretations of these scriptures, or any other verses, stem from misguided teachings and sometimes innocently applied reasonings. The perception applied is as if "Pentecostals, Word of Faith, and Charismatics" are of a cultish origin. That is not necessarily the case. In your "calling out" individuals and denominations, it is now coming across as being judgmental and somewhat pious. Your understanding and personal interpretation of the Word is phenomenal, but I am sure that you have had your own pruning and weeding out period in your spiritual growth and development. Stereotyping is never acceptable in our society nor our Church, as you are grouping all "Pentecostals, Word of Faith, and Charismatics" under one roof. That, in itself, is applying spiritual stereotyping and judgement.

@@lukericker8325 Paul also says that he'd rather speak 5 intelligible words that edify the brethren than 10,000 in a tongue that no one understands (1 Corinthians 14:18-19). He also asked rhetorically, "Do all speak in tongues?" The implication being, NO, ALL DO NOT SPEAK IN TONGUES. Plus he said earnestly desire the spiritual gifts ESPECIALLY THAT YOU MAY PROPHECY (1Corinthians 14:1). This is all centered in one overarching command: LOVING ONE ANOTHER. JESUS SAID, "BY THIS ALL MEN WILL KNOW THAT YOU ARE TRULY MY DISCIPLES IF YOU HAVE LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER (John 13:34-35)." The gifts of the Spirit are not given to prove that l'm saved nor for my SELF-indulgence. They are for glorifying God and building up the Church of which Christ is the head (Colossians 1:18, Ephesians 4:14-16, Ephesians 1:22-23, 1 Corinthians 12:7, 1 Corinthians 14:1). To me one of the most devastating passages in God's word is 1 Corinthians 13:1-3. It shows that A PERSON CAN BE EXTRAORDINARILY GIFTED BUT MISS THE MARK BECAUSE THEY DO NOT BEAR THE FRUIT OF LOVE (Matthew 7:15-23). The fruit of the Spirit is different than the gifts of the Spirit. God gives us spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 4:7, James 1:16-17). THAT'S HIS CHOICE, HIS GENEROSITY. BUT LOVING OTHERS IS OUR CHOICE. God will not force me to love other people. Loving others is volitional especially when dealing with those who've done me harm. God and Jesus have chosen to love me DESPITE ME. Because THEY ARE LOVE (1John 4:8, 16). The first promise in the New Testament is Matthew 1:21. "And she will bear a Son; and you shall call his name Jesus, FOR IT IS HE WHO WILL SAVE HIS PEOPLE FROM THEIR SINS." Of what value is it if l'm loaded with spiritual gifts while also being filled with pride? Or if l am immoral in mind or actions? Or if my heart is trained in greed? Or if l hold anger in my heart against my brother, which Jesus equated with murder? I could go on. The Corinthians were far more legitimately gifted than probably any church in the world today. But they treated the Lord's Supper like a picnic, were taking each other to court, had immorality going on that even pagans would frown upon, and the rich were disdainful of the poor. Being blessed with spiritual gifts does not always translate into a person exhibiting holy and upright moral character. God requires that we be holy for he is holy, holy, holy (Leviticus 11:44-45, Isaiah 6:3, Revelation 4:8).

As far as speaking in tongues is concerned. Three times in the book of Acts it is written that believers recieved the Holy Spirit and the first thing that happened is that they spoke in tongues. The important question is, does God see those three instances as sufficient proof that believers should expect to speak in tongues as the first evidence that they have recieved the Holy Spirit ?

@@robertnieten7259 there is a difference of receiving the Holy Spirit (happens when you believe in Jesus Christ as Lord) and being baptized with the Holy Spirit. @robertnieten7259

@Josh Gellock Recieving the Holy Spirit and the baptism of the Holy Spirit are one and the same event. Not once in the book of Acts do we read of believers recieving the Holy Spirit at one point and then being baptized in the Holy Spirit at another time. We do not recieve the Holy Spirit the moment we believe the gospel and accept Jesus as our savior. Being saved is being born again and just as physical birth is the end result of a process so is spiritual rebirth. We recieve the Holy Spirit as the result of believing " into" Christ not just believing in Him, that shows that there is a process involved. Acts 2:38 is that process. In Acts ch.19 when Paul met the disciples he asked them, " Have you recieved the Holy Spirit since you believed"? For him to even ask them that is to prove that one doesn't recieve the Holy Spirit the minute that they believe. When they told Paul that they hadn't even heard that there was a Holy Spirit, Paul asked them, " How then were you baptized"? They said," by Johns' baptism". Paul then told them ," verily John baptized in a baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, to believe on the one to come after him, Jesus Christ"( Acts 19:4). It then says, " When they heard this they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus,And when Paul layed hands on them and the Holy Spirit came upon them and they spoke in tongues and prophesied"( Acts 19: 5,6 ) You see that the disciples believed by what they did and that was to complete their repentance by being water baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. They then recieved the Holy Spirit by being baptized in the Holy Spirit confirmed by their speaking in tongues and prophesying.

@Josh Gellock When Jesus breathed on His apostles and said, " Recieve ye the Holy Spirit" they didn't recieve the Holy Spirit at that time because the Holy Spirit would not be poured out until Acts 2 At Pentecost. Remember, in Acts 2 just before the apostles, and the other believers gathered there, there was a rushing mighty wind. The natural reaction whether it be breath blowing in your face or wind is to breath in. The believers breathed in the Holy Spirit. Remember in John ch.3 when the Lord drew a comparison to Nicodemus between birth of the flesh and birth of the Spirit. When a physical baby is removed from the mother the doctor would smack them on the butt and they would breath in and cry alerting all within hearing that a baby had been born. Spiritually a believer leaves the baptismal water and in the process of calling out to the Lord for the Holy Spirit breathes in the Spirit and speaks in " tongues" alerting all within hearing range that a spiritual babe in Christ had been born.

I’ve seen one of my old pastors mention that healing is determined solely by the believer, so if they died from an illness, it was their fault and they would use Isaiah 53:5-6 ans other scriptures to state that God cannot heal until the believer has enough faith... and I’ve seen way more in my time there. Let’s make sure that when we read the Word that we continue to seek God to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

If only they read the Bible and realised the man at the pool of Bethesda was healed and he didn’t even know who Jesus was 💀 there have been so many times where people prayed for someone who did not have faith they would be healed and they were healed! It’s all dependent on Gods sovereign will. It’s not great faith jn God, it’s faith in a great God. We need to rely completely on a God not on our “amount” of faith. Because then you are putting faith in YOURSELF to be healed and not God! We need to trust and rest, not strive. I admit it’s something I’m personally working on.

Did you actually get healing and if you did do you believe maybe that power came from another source like a demonic source because people also manifest healing and that definitely isn’t from god or they do reikki healing and while many get physically healed they then need deliverance from demons they allowed in their body. Do you think claiming and rebuking for healing may be a form of witchcraft?

Same thing happened to me many years ago. Even after I stopped attending those types of churches, it took years to realize how the false teachings undermined my growth and sound thinking as a believer. God reveals his truth in his word, and confirms his word in other scriptures. As a new believer in the late 70's, I just assumed those teachers were smarter than I was---when I couldn't figure out how they got that meaning from reading the same passage I was.

I am a Pentecostal and I’ve never heard a non tv preacher say that every believer should be healed or rich. I agree that tongues is not THE only sign of The Holy Spirit. There is a difference between being born again and being filled with Holy Spirit. The disciples were born again when Jesus blew on them and said receive the Holy Spirit, then they were baptized in Holy Spirit in the upper room. For me I don’t think God changed the script after the apostles, I believe that the church in the book of Acts is still available today.

@@tutking55 I agree that there are 3 different functions of speaking in tongues. The Apostle Paul spoke in tongues, however the Bible does not record him speaking in tongues at the time he was filled with the Holy Spirit, but he immediately began to proclaim Jesus... Acts 9:17-20. I also believe that backsliders who are far away from God can still speak in tongues, it’s never wise in my opinion to use a gift of the Holy Spirit as a marker for a persons spiritual condition. But it’s much more accurate to use the fruit of the Spirit for determining spiritual condition. Remember Judas did signs and wonders, and he was a thief and Trader.

@Emmanè Butter In this world, if you cant walk in humility and be as selfless as possible, its really hard to say that wealth and success is for God. Its noth about how much you make, its about how much you keep. Its not about how people see you, its how you promote yourselfs versus others. The bible doesnt say its hard for a rich man to get into heavan for no reason. Its not impossible, just hard. They have to walk in humility and beable to resist pride and greed for more. Satan is willing to give you everything you want in exchange for your attention away from God, or basically your soul. People think selling your soul is just for music industry or fame. It can be anything. And dont take this outta context. Im not attacking, just partially agreeing. The Lord can bless us with many riches but its also our job to interpret if its from him or the Destroyer.

Dear brother, I’m Italian and I attend a Pentecostal church and first of all: We do not believe that we can speak things into existence, that’s just a big lie Second we do not believe that when you get saved you always get healed physically, it can happen but it’s not related to salvation Third we do not believe that every Christian is rich or should be rich, our pastor even condemns the prosperity gospel..another mistake Fourth we *do not* believe that if you don’t speak in tongues you don’t have the Holy Spirit, we believe that the Holy Spirit takes residence within you since the moment you accept Christ, the gift of tongues (which is a real manifestation of God that anybody can experience) is considered like a “more empowering” experience to help you speak out the word of God with boldness..(this concept of boldness btw is repeated multiple times in Acts after the Pentecostal experience of the apostles) Fifth I can tell you that I’ve seen many times pastors laying their hands on people and those people were speaking in tongues, this is not an isolated event happened 2000 years ago, it is still real! *This does not mean btw that very Christian must experience this* Sixth: I’ve been in so many Pentecostal churches and never saw someone casting demons out of somebody else...you may have seen these things with someone like Benny Hinn and other similar “pastors” who guide their service in a way more close to devil spirits, rather than the Spirit of God. Having said this I’m not surprised if in America these things are common, you guys are very revolutionary with pretty much everything..but don’t make confusion not all Christian Pentecostal do and believe such things

Matteo I think the objection we have (I can only speak for myself here) is what exactly is this 'tongue' that the pentecostals speak? Speaking in tongues simply means speaking 'in other languages'. ie French, German. I do not believe that on the day of Pentecost any other languages were spoken than those which existed on earth at that time. If the language you claim to speak is not known by someone on earth right now I am deeply skeptical. Pentecost had a purpose - it was to spread the word to the four corners of the world. I think part of the problem for the pentecostal movement is Jimmy Swaggart. A man who uses tongues like some sort of evidence. He claims it is a language spoken in heaven. His grandson claims it is a future language of man not yet spoken on earth. Very shady and suspicious conduct by these two men.

@@thesolaraquarium Amen! Speaking in tongues is not babbling gibberish. Babbling is easy to imitate and people can give false interpretations(translations). “Heavenly language” or “tongues of angels”is a figure of speech, not literal. Paul is emphasizing that it’s a spiritual gift from God. When we start to look at scripture as literature and properly exegete the text (without adding our own opinions or ideas) it is easier to understand . . @@Noah-rv9uj I was given the 'gift of tongues' a few decades ago. I was struggling to read a religious book in French, the work of a Saint. I would have to check my french-english dictionary every sentence at least once. It seems that God wanted me to read this book. A few days later I was able to read the book without a dictionary and understand 95% of what was there. To this day I don't use a dictionary - don't even have one in my library anymore. I am able to read French unassisted. I am able to work out the missing 5% from the 95% I understand. It is a gift from God. I have no doubt about that. I always had a working knowledge of French (it is my second language). But until that time I was never able to read it without a dictionary as a helper. Since that time I can. Until now I have never told anyone about this. Only God and I know this. It's personal, as I expect all gifts of God are. When people start declaring in public that they have a gift from God I get skeptical. I only share this to explain that some of us have been given this gift of tongues. I am not alone in this, I am sure.

Regarding the 2nd point on using “By His Stripes, we were healed” in Isaiah 53:5. Allen claimed that this is only for spiritual healing. May I suggest that this includes physical healing too. Allen mentioned that one has to read the context to understand the biblical meaning. Well and good. If you look into verse 4 of Isaiah 53, it is talking about physical illness. Matthew 8:17 confirms this: “This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭8:17‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Clearly, the early Christians interpreted that both physical and spiritual healings were part of the work of the cross by our Lord. I hope we do read our bible in ‘greater context’ and understand that it is the will of God for us to be healed and truly by His stripes, we can be healed (spiritually and physically).

I think to say the gifts went out with the apostles or was only designated to the apostle is hard to prove to all of the people who have personally experienced miracles over time as well as the number of people God used throughout the historic narrative we have in the bible. Also when Paul writes Corinthians he is not writing to apostles but the Corinthian church which is evidenced to already have several of the gifts of the Spirit in function. I've seen people function in the gift of healing in today's time. Doesn't mean they can go to the hospital and heal everybody but rather the gifts are used in the time and place that God sees fit.

I have not watched this video so I’m not commenting on it, but the title of it does remind me of what I have observed There’s a sad and unfair pattern of non cessation believers and groups being broad brushed because of a minority There’s usually never any balance or positive things spoken about Pentecostals or charismatics . I don’t even like those terms being used unless they are clearly defined as I think they can potentially be dangerous and unhealthy . We should in my opinion focus on clear and specific teachings in isolation instead of broad and vague terms like “movement “ It’s usually always American Calvinist cessationists speaking about their likely narrow and small experience of church in America (which is where the majority of high profile heretics are based and export their stuff throughout the world ) I guess people would label me and my likeminded brothers as charismatic or Pentecostal but we are just as cautious and zealous against the error and corruption , but we typically don’t become online celebrities painting ourselves as the gatekeepers of truth while milking money out of believers to support our “KZfaq ministry” and looking for a Pat on the bag and endorsement from the elite in their camp Why don’t we address all the error found in the cessationist part of the body of Christ because there is lots of it !

I got my job through Roman's 4:17. I know it works because of experience. Same for Mark 11:23,24. Ministers who have no understanding from God are too quick to debunk these verses. But God put them in His Word. An experience beats an argument or a doctrine any day. This was my experience. I had been on social security disability for years. Nobody would hire me because I am deaf. But I had proposed to my future wife and needed more money. So I prayed "Lord I need $400 a month." Circumstances put me in a position to find out Walgreens had made a commitment to hire handicapped and disabled people. So I went and inquired and got called to work two months after my wedding. Once there, at the indoctrination session, I found out that I wasn't yet a Walgreens employee, I was being hired by a temp agency. I would have to qualify to be hired by Walgreens. I was trained for a week and then put to work, being evaluated the whole time every few weeks. My score had to be a certain number. My score was awful. In my position, a low score is good and a high score is bad. They had a different person re train me. My score got higher the more I tried. I was stressed out to the max. Then one day it dawned on me "why don't I do what the Bible says and call those things which be not as though they were?" So I started doing that. I spoke the words out "I have qualified for this job at Walgreens." I did this several times a day. Within a few days I noticed the stress was gone. At the next rate period, my rate had gone down significantly but not quite good enough to get hired. At the end of the next period my rate was ridiculously low and I got hired and I have been there ever since, for 13 years. In addition to that my future wife had called Kenneth Hagin Ministries several years previous requesting prayer on my behalf and I got instantly delivered from 25 years of alcoholism. All Allen has is a denominational doctrinal argument. Nobody will ever convince me these verses don't mean what they say they mean, or that Word of Faith preachers are fake.

And although the Lord shown me characters about myself in these times that had to be changed or had to be recognized and confessed to him for a change to be brought about I didn’t even realize it was him showing me the things he was going to permit and the things he was forbidding in myself being a part of His body, the church! Once you realize each member of the Godhead is equal - it’s better, because you don’t lower your perception of the One you thought was highest of the Three, you raise the ones you felt were lower. If you think well I thought the Son was the best member of the trinity because just how good He is, then you can think, well they’re equal so how good must the Father be! Or vis-versa. We are actually saved by the Spirit through belief in Jesus. Titus 3:5-7 states, “not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”

By God's Grace, He has been with me every step of the way. I still have friends tell me, my life is the way it is because "I don;t speak the things into my life"...it still hurts. I found this channel by accident too , as someone else said in the comments. I'm glad I did. I've learned a lot about these verses and their true meanings. I was mixed up in all of this 25 years ago and left the church and turned my back on God because the church were continually telling us to tithe and we didnt know it wasnt biblical and we were poor as church mice. We'd just got married and didnt even have food in the cupboards. Eventually, it got to us which lead to divorce and physical illness for both of us and 15 years in the darkness. Thankfully, God never let me go. He drew me back to Him through the most unexpected ways. This pandemic has been an intense learning experience. Ive heard people in the church im at now misuse these verses and im trying to get the message across in any way i can to them that they need to see them in their proper context, like I did. Thanks for the breakdown of the meaning of these verses.

As a pentecostal myself, I clicked on the video to receive insight on whether or not my church taught wrong. Turns out it's not, because we interpret these verses the same. Specifically on the verse about proof of holy spirit and the tongues and stuff, the way we interpret it is that tongues are A proof of the holy spirit, as is simply being touched by a heartfelt and emotional preaching or even showing the fruits of the spirit. Simply put, proof of the holy spirit, as even taught in my church, isn't just speaking in tongues. I agree with you, that those guys who teach that tongues is THE proof are false teachers.

@@islamdefenderyahya4621 Like all unbelievers, you mishandle the Word of God, and you take scripture out of context. Christians believe the Divinity of God exists in 3 Persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. That’s how Jesus can say to My God and your God. In fact, in Hebrews 1:13, God is quoted as saying, “The Lord says to my Lord, sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies Your footstool.” Who do you think which Lord the Lord is speaking to? Since you are in John, chapter 20, when Thomas placed his hands into the wounds of Jesus, he stated in verse 28, “My Lord and my God.” Don’t you think Jesus would have corrected him if that statement wasn’t true? You are mishandling the Word of God with Matthew 15:9. Jesus is quoting Isaiah 29:13: These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. If anything, Jesus is expecting worship - but the right way. Also, there are numerous places where Jesus accepts worship: Matthew 8:2 Matthew 9:18 Matthew 15:25 Matthew 20:20 Matthew 28:9 John 9:38 Hebrews 1:6 The Apostle John said: Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” John 8:58 The Jews wanted to kill Jesus because the “I AM” referred back to Exodus 3:14 where Moses asked God what His name was - “I AM WHO I AM” was the answer. Surely you can see where Jesus is saying He is God. Also, only God raises people from the dead. Read John, Chapter 11 to see where Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead. If you like, I can provide more Scripture references that show where Jesus is God.

Amen, as a young Christian I was drawn into the charismatic movement. It brought a lot of confusion into my life, it brought me into bondage, robbed me of my joy and peace, my assurance of salvation. It was faithful brothers and sisters who loved me enough to refute the doctrines I was embracing. It was the Spirit of Christ and His word that drew me out of the movement. Today I have a deeper joy peace and confidence in Jesus. I am content and have a greater love of the truth, a lower view of self, a higher view of Yahweh. The movement seemed so right so spiritual in the beginning, but as time went on the Holy Spirit showed me how man centered how worldly the false teachings were. Today I approach scripture very differently, it truly is my daily bread. It is the means by which the Holy Spirit quickens our minds and transforms our will, our desires, and sanctifies our whole life. Not because of us, but in spite of us, for the glory of God the Father, for the exaltation of God our Savior, to the honor of God the Holy Spirit.

Though I don’t think I can make a difference in our church now, coz it’s already big. I’m planning to move to a more bible based church where I can grow in the truth. I hope anyone reading this can help me pray for God to lead me to the right church. And I also pray that christians like me who were being led in a different direction will also be awaken and see the truth. And thank you so much for your ministry brother Allen Parr. My opinion of the verses as a Pentecostal 1. Abram was called father of many nations by other people becauae God decreed it to be so, even before it happened. So all the people calling abram "abraham" did so because God said it. Thats the context of its use today. If God said its true, speak it. Having HIS words on our mouth daily, thats what it is. 2. We are healed. Be it so according to your faith. The spiritual healing means that the physical is healed as well. We are spirits first, then fleshy. But even if its only spiritual, believing God for anything is never wrong 3. You are right, but nothing is wrong with using this verse or any verse in prayer. Ask and you shall receive. I get your point here tho. Know that the new covenant has better promises for us. So if its promised in the old, its available now too. 4. Speaking of tongues is evidence of being baptized in the holy spirit. Not having the holy spirit. The spirit was with many before christ and its obvious. Every true believer has the holy spirit, but the baptism is needed still. 5. We can cast out demons. Terminology doesnt matter, they must leave in jesus name. Literally nothing wrong with saying "i bind you in jesus name". Its effective for deliverance. Have your own convictions and take everything taught with prayer to God and study of other scriptures. God bless!
