I found real late in my braces, that brushing actually makes them feel better after a tightening. Not directly after, but later in the evening, before bed or the next day. Is that just me?? Ugh!! The wires poking me! That really got me the worst!! I'd have to go back into the ortho just to get the wire snipped back a little. It would get to where even wax wasn't getting it. 2 weeks after tightening, I'd be back getting the wires clipped. (This was back in the late 70's- early 80's)

Most of my baby teeth had to be pulled as my adult ones came in before the baby ones were ready. It wasnt even that i wasnt trying evey single one still had a root, bleed and had to get numbed first. Today’s my dentist appointment. Wish me luck 🫡 edit: I brushed well but I got one of my molars removed because the adult tooth was growing in sideways. It didn’t hurt somehow, they just sprayed my mouth with cold water and yoinked it out because the roots were already fading away. Great thing is it didn’t bleed that much so I only needed to bit on a gauze for 30 mins. It only took 3 mins and after I got a cute mochi squish toy!!! very cool experience.

I did this with my nephew and he was really scared it would hurt but as I was talking to him about I did the slam the door like the mom did and it went flying and he was like where did it go?! We had to look for a while but finally found it and after I told him to put it under his pillow that he actually would get money for it because there’s a Tooth Fairy, he got all excited lol. I asked him later how much he got and he said 20 dollars! I said dang we only got a quarter😂

Bentist, I have a question, is this normal, So, I have a lifelong, terminal illness, I also have Neurofibromatosis Type 1. These conditions affect my body, they slow down the natural processes in life, like puberty, & teeth falling out, etc, preventing my body from functioning normally. At 16, I still have both baby and adult teeth. My mouth is like a shark's mouth, I have doubles overlapping in most places, I've only lost three teeth since the age of 7. Instead of falling out, my milk teeth break off in bits (not my adult teeth). Recently, my teeth have become extremely sensitive. Any drink that isn't warm or room temperature causes immense pain until I swallow it. I religiously brush my teeth twice a day, never forgetting. I don't eat candy or drink many carbonated beverages. My main drinks are apple juice and water with orange Kool-Aid syrup. To be honest, I don't eat much in general most days. I use a special toothpaste prescribed by my dentist because I'm housebound and can't get to the dentist. This toothpaste contains fluoride, enamel repair, and other essential elements. Nearly the same as treatment at the orthodontist, but at home because I can't get to the dentist for treatment like that, I have no cavities or fillings by the way, I wonder if this is something I should get checked out. Please let me know!

I know for sure which of my 2 orthos is the best. I just saw one Dr that has me scheduled for impressions lol One premolar needs to be turned and leaned and moved laterally, my bite isnt anywhere close, teeth have no home, 0.00% chance braces coming off Feb 1st. I JUST got elastics Dec 20th. I literally started giggling when he told me they coming off, I sd BS in my head and giggled, I wonder if this happens often

You know 7 months ago I was about to get my braces for the first time and now me 7 months later having a upper appliance a lower appliance rubber bands and I got my tonsils out 8 days ago so my journey has been fun

I recommend chewing sugar free gum. Yes my orthodontist encouraged it and I swore by it! It helped tremendously

I had to get a baby tooth numbed to pull out 'cause the adult tooth didn't grow in right and that baby tooth hurt quite a bit when I tried tugging on it.

When I got my wisdom teeth out, I looked similar to the woman in that video 🤣 it felt like my jaw got punched by a heavy weight pro boxer and I jokingly said I looked like a chipmunk. I worked in fast food at the time and one of the customers said I looked like I got in a fight (the bruises were weird. I had a light brown one on one of my cheeks, and then on the same side, it literally looked like I had a black eye on the bottom of my eye) It took around a week or two for my jaw to feel normal again and for the swelling and bruising to go down. The recovery was hell… but I don’t regret getting my wisdom teeth out. They had to take my wisdom teeth out before they even grew in because my jaw is too small to support them.
