I have been wet shaving the old school way for a few years now. You're off to a good start! A few critiques: You don't really need to soak your razor, a warm blade will actually not cut better - warm steel actually dulls faster. Just rinse the razor with warm water to keep it clean between passes and to keep it from feeling cold on the face. You also don't need to be so gentle with your brush, you can absolutely scrub that lather in. You also don't need to lather in a mug, you can whip the lather up right on your face. That's a preference thing, but I find that it prepares my beard for the shave better when I skip the mug/bowl and lather right on my face until it's the consistency I want. As for the hair on the neck, it is not the same for everyone. For many people, the hair on the face and neck grows in the same direction. For others, it may not. For me, the hair all over my face and neck grows in many different directions. I've had to get a feel for how the hair all grows and tailor my technique to my beard for best results. Same will pretty much go for everyone. Just keep at it and you'll get better, plus your shaves will be better than ever as well!

Worth noting... if you read the Ian Fleming books you can read that Bond has an unusual method of shaving with his German Hoffritz DE razor. He holds it between his middle and index finger with the base of the handle in the palm of his hand as if the razor is sticking out of his fist.

I started cringing when you put that razor to your face with your bottom plate upside down.

I switched to a DE safety razor about 6 months ago and I will never go back to cartridge razors. You can't beat the price, the shave experience and the absence of irritation and razor burn.

You have put that razor together incorrectly. you have the bar the wrong way around. If Bond made that kind of mistake he'd make a spectre of himself.

I started thinking of Bond and shaving recently, and I think must have seen your video titles in passing. Now, I'm taking the time to watch them.

Shaving for 6 years now with a double edge safety razor. (Using a Muhle R41 GS at the moment). Get a good soap and a nice aftershave. And you will always look forward to your next shave.

In Goldfinger Bond uses a Gillette Adjustable, and he actually uses canned shaving cream. Probably Gillette Foamy.

The one used in Goldfinger was a 1963 Gillette comfort razor, That had the mini little homer in the barrel of the razor.

Besides putting it on backwards you paint to smooth it out after your done lathering. And with the grain for you might be against a grain for someone else everyone’s hair grows in different directions 👌💈 KenSurfs and Mantic59 would cry if they seen this epic fail

When I found out Sean Connery used a Gillette Slim Adjustable razor in one of the James Bind movies, I got on eBay and bought two vintage slim adjustables. Best shaves I've ever had. Much closer than disposable or cartridges. Cool video.

Tip: try Feather blades, they are the sharpest there is. Oh, and to plug a channel look up: Geofatboy of ShaveNation. He is 110% when it comes to gents and shaving. FYI. 5:15 we have all done that at some point...

I've recently discovered that just plain old shampoo on the face makes for a great slick gliding shave.

Yep...make with the Slim Adjustable. and a can of goo. That was a Goldfinger shave. That lather needs work as well.

Ok about shaving My question is how people can use wash basin for spiting while brushing and then same wash basin for shaving ... That wash basin get dirty. Can any one answer it or is there any video on techniques of using wash basin plugs.

Yes, some things you said is true, paint on, nonsense, you exfoliate or remove dead skin when you use the none painting motions, enough shaving cream, perhaps, i would rather make more, add water. My hairs grows on the sides, on my neck. I think in Goldfinger Sean used a Gillette slim adjustable. But good shave, nice black combination, it would look well in a photo. 👍😄

if I just shave with the grain it looks like I didn't shave at all. when I shave against the grain I have a 50/50 chance of bleeding out of 20 holes looking red and unshaven all day.

In short, that shaving lather is beyond crap. Shaving lather is supposed to be creamy and protective, not dry as a brush. A poor demonstration in all.

Man, so many incorrect technique suggestions in the first 10 minutes I had to stop watching!

you know nothing about traditional shave. you have put a tone of cream and you did not even do leather with your brush. the brush is for massage to lift the hairs up not paint with the cream. you connected the pieces of the razor wrong! and the after shave goes to the area which is shaved!!

This is the completely wrong way to wet shave. Brother, you need to brush up on the finer arts of wet shaving, because this isn't it.
