When I was pregnant with my son, I remember my mum walking into the nursery and saying to me, "When I had you, everything fit into your bassinet". It's true, you don't need everything under the sun!

This is one of the most realistic lists I’ve seen. Thanks for your tips. I’m expecting baby #3 and still like to get ideas from other moms. It helps filter unnecessary purchases. ❤️

Regarding the sleepers, I was having a hard time finding affordable ones in my area (and now I feel dumb because I must have just missed them when I went to those stores) but I finally found them, and a bunch at that. The sleepers with built in socks, fold over cuff, AND inverted zipper are at Walmart for $5.44 each and at Target in a 3pack for $12.99. I noticed only the NB and 0-3 come with the fold over cuff (because mittens get lost). But I’m case anyone is as lost as I was I hope this helps!

Something that has been so nice to have that it’s practically an essential in my household at least has been the newborn Boppy lounger. Game changer! My baby is just over 2 mos & it’s so nice to have somewhere to put him when I’m getting settled or when I have to run to the bathroom. To be honest, now that he’s a bit older, we let him sleep in it, but ONLY under constant supervision. Like we’re literally right next to him & we’re awake. It’s nice because he has reflux, so I can’t always place him flat in our pack n play or he’ll spit up, which is no fun.

When it comes to diapers I would recommend getting from costco or Sam's club. A box of 196 size 1 diapers is 25 dollars and they're great. Compared to boxes of Pampers or huggies it's a fraction of the price.

I thought I couldn't deal with poo in cloth diapers but it isn't as bad as I thought, I got a few of them to try out.

Definitely 100% right about the clothing. Babygrows and sleepsuits for like first 3 months. Outfits in my opinion are a waste as I never got round to using any and can make nappy changing more hassle.

YES, LOVE ZIPPERS💗 They are so much more practical than snaps. I recently uploaded a video about baby essentials as well. Like you said, babies don’t have to be expensive. Thank you for sharing a realistic video to help new parents!

Also I wouldn't bother with newborn clothes i never bought any for my baby. I put her in 0-3 months from birth and it wasnt too big but it had some room for her to grow into.

I’m trying to keep things super minimal and I am happy to see your experience. I would add a baby carrier to this and as for diapers, a good way to save money and the environment is cloth diapering. I was rather intimidated but been reading up on it and especially first six months, you can throw poo and pee in the washer 😊 I’m considering all in one cloth diapers. ☺️

There’s also an even more environmental friendly method called elimination communication. It’s basically just paying attention to baby’s queues and offering them a potty when they show they need to go. 😊

@@raenewnham7490 YUp! I'm going to try that part time! Kinda intimidating but sounds very logical and should be natural like eating and sleeping! :) Have you tried it before?

dawn for life in Switzerland I don’t have kids yet but it’s something both me and my SO are interested in trying when we do. I think doing it part time is probably more realistic than full time, that’s great you’re going to try it out 😊

Cloth diapers aren’t gross plus you deal with poo no matter what as a mom from all the poo splosions atleast with cloth your already set up with how to deal with it but poosplosions happen randomly and gets on everything. My last daughter hasn’t had 1 since being in cloth vs my previous 6 who all have. My only regret is not starting with my first

To keep baby close to you. They’re small and portable. Cribs are bulky and don’t move with you.

It’s recommend to have baby room share with parents for the first 6 months. A bassinet is a lot easier to have beside you

Diapers aren’t even a necessity 😊. There’s a “method” called elimination communication where parents pay attention to baby’s queues and offer them a potty to go when they need to. It’s what people use in parts of the world where diapers aren’t available. Just thought I’d share this since many people aren’t aware about this
@raenewnham7490
@raenewnham7490 3 жыл бұрын
Kayla that’s the point of that method though. It’s completely possible to do. It just takes a really attentive parent who has the time to learn their baby’s queues

Just because you budget on baby items doesn’t mean you’ll be able to become a stay at home mom. Unfortunately it’s not that easy. And I’m sorry but having a baby, especially for the first time, is expensive for anyone. Even if you budget. You’re literally adding a new member to your family. That includes baby’s needs, health insurance, hospital bills, doctors visits, etc.

Just watching this video. I would encourage any new mom not to stress about all of the things needed for a new baby. There are so many options! You can buy gently used second hand items. You can ask friends and family. I'm sure there are also options of local charities who help new parents. However, if you truly desire to be a stay at home mom, it's a high calling that can absolutely be accomplished. First, stay away from debt. If you are in debt, be intentional about paying it off. If you need to work, or you are a single parent, there are many options to work from home. I have 8 children. Never once did they go without, quite the opposite. We lived frugally for years, so we could have one income and I stay home. We even payed off all debt, because we were intentional. Children are a blessing from God. He will take care of your needs. It's not easy, but I believe that if you Trust in Him, He will provide for all of your needs according to His riches in glory. And no one that has ever lived in history can imagine what that is.
