I'd also recommend having a diaper party - we called it my husband's "Dad-chelor Party." He had his guy friends over to watch football, he bought pizza and beer, and in exchange, they had to bring a pack/box of diapers. Those, along with what I received at my baby shower, made it so we didn't have to buy diapers at all for almost the first year of parenthood. Definitely a good money saver!

I'd like to normalize gifting still nice second hand items. A baby registry was really hard for me because I hated everything being bought new when there is tons of barely used baby stuff readily available and already produced.

I mentioned this in my baby shower invites - I encouraged hand me downs from trusted friends/relatives, and secondhand items! Only crib, car seat, and stroller were bought new (and diapers LOL)

I agree with anything secondhand. But as someone who doesn't have a babies yet I always shop clearances year-round for baby shower. I find clothes for a dollar a piece and slowly get things for baby showers throughout the year.

Not sure if your husband has insurance, but it was the case that every insurance will cover one breast pump per pregnancy. We have terrible insurance, and they still did this.

You can roll over up to $550 from the prior year to the next in most cases with an FSA

All the fantastic mums here, everyone had fantastic sex to make their amazing babies. Lucky couples. You too I'm sure, just not having one? You're all great. One day! Strange to feel that but, yeah...:)
