The new Toyota Venza Should've totally been a Lexus model with very minor improvements needed.
This new model has nothing to do with the previous Venza model and is a total hidden gem if you want a classy and good car in the old school fashion of good.
The New Toyota Venza is truly a hidden gem. I really like the fact that Toyota didn't ruin it with some sport model because this car is not meant for that.
I truly like the interior and how well it's designed! In this video we'll take a look at what makes the Toyota Venza such a good model and why I think this should've been a Lexus Model

My wife and I recently purchased a used 2021 Venza. It comes in two trim levels; we have the "basic" version. It is an elegant car; reminds me of the Mercury Montego. Understated in a lot of ways, but a true "grandpa car" all the way. Comfortable, quiet, reliable, keeps up well with traffic but NOT a drag racer -- we love this car. We need more cars like it!! BTW, I gave my daughter our old Montego when she graduated college -- she despised it initially, but it was that or nothing... within a month she was the "designated driver" for her friends ANY TIME they went out driving anywhere. It was comfortable, roomy, and quiet enough to hold conversations with the front and back seat passengers. She had so many compliments about the car; she finally confessed that she had grown to love her "grandpa car". This car reminds me of that so much, as it has all those same characteristics. I don't want to race from point A to point B; I want to drive it safely, quietly, and enjoy the experience as much as possible. Is that so wrong?

Quiet is so subjective. Only help I can give you is a couple of comparisons. Had a 2016 Mazda CX3 GT. That was a hwy noisy ride. Couldn't enjoy the radio or phone at all. Have a 2023 Rav4 Prime. Can enjoy the radio and talk on phone easily, but there is some tire noise depending on the hwy surface. The Venza is way quieter than either of the prior two. Can converse, listen to music, use the phone easily. It's quiet enough that when on the phone the caller doesn't know you are in the car on the phone. Hope that helps.@@whoahorseywhoa4685

I owned a 2001 Highlander, a 2006 Lexus RX330, and as soon as I saw the new Venza in person, it seemed obvious to me it was a new version of that size, shaped platform. I feel vindicated that the Car Wizard keeps emphasizing it. With Lexus going higher upscale, this type of vehicle is in between the worlds of Toyota, and old Lexus. Great review!

Have had a '21 Limited in White Pearl since May 2021 and still love walking up to and stepping in it. Your handful of critiques are spot on as well as the Lexus-like quality. Was cross-shopping the Rav4 Prime when I saw and test drove this. The class of the more subtle design and quality of the interior won me over. 21k miles on it now and no problems whatsoever. One more thing to mention, even though I have a limited trim, you can opt-out of the moon roof and then you can add roof racks as mine had from the factory/dealer. I like the ability to through a kayak or more storage up there if I need it. I'm seeing a few more on the streets now but still love how unique it is and have had multiple people ask what it is. I can confirm 45-50 MPG in the summer in the Pacific Northwest and 38-43 in the winter with mixed driving.

This is why Toyota does so well with it's customers because it NEVER loses sight of what is important to them. Not everyone wants leather seats, some want cloth still. Some want a more traditional look, not a race look. Not everyone is going to care how fast their car goes around the Neuromberg ring but wants their interiors to be sensable. Most modern cars are NOT really what customers want but what auto manufacters tells them they need.

@sadfur8728
@sadfur8728 Жыл бұрын
How is the electronic design actuation done with the parking brakes? Do they somehow not use brake shoes or pads? Video mentioned they no longer need to be changed, so are they operating using the main service brakes instead of an independent system?
@sadfur8728
@sadfur8728 Жыл бұрын
Is there any capability for gradual application of the parking brake with the electronic design or is it always either on or off completely? In the event where it was needed to be used during a main brake system failure, does it modulate the application at speed to prevent locking up the wheels?
@mynameisnickish
@mynameisnickish Жыл бұрын
It is an on or off system. No modulation. It uses the primary brake pads so no aux parking brake shoes. There is another version of parking brake system that uses a cable operated lever on the caliper. The cable operated parking brake systems both have their problems. I've found the electronic systems to be more reliable over time. Vehicles have dual hydraulic circuits as a redundancy in case of hydraulic failure. I wouldn't feel uncomfortable driving a vehicle with electronic parking brakes in a daily driver.

Im fascinated with the 4 outside cameras and the projection lights displaying the word Venza shining down from the side mirrors at night. Heated steering wheel/Heated & Cooled seats are a plus! Also, we just found out about the headlights auto brightness feature! Auto windshield wipers is simply awesome!

I bought a ‘21 Venza and I love it. I chose the XLE model mainly because it has dials for the radio and a/c. The start button may be in an awkward place but after a couple of days you forget about it. I totally agree that it has an unfortunate name, in Japan it’s called the Harrier which would have been much cooler. Speaking of Japan, the Venza is actually made there which, at least to me, is a definite plus. I’ve been watching The Car Care Nut for years and I bought this car because of you AMD, so thanks for all the great advice and congratulations on your new and beautiful shop. Totally refreshing to see how well you reviewed this car. I like the refined styling of Venza over the ruggedness of RAV4. For completeness it would be nice if power/ torque and fuel consumption figures are included in future videos. Unfortunately Venza is a not sold in Australia otherwise it would be my choice of car to buy. Given my options here I'd like a comparison video between Lexus 350H (with F Sport) and Lexus 450h plus - is an extra $10k worth paying for the latter? Is it worth paying extra for independent suspension on the F Sport? FYI - my daily driving average is 30km which is well within the claimed EV only range of the 450h+, and park my car in the garage).

Had a brand new '22 as a loaner from my Toyota dealership (literally less then 200 miles on it) while my transmission was being replaced in my '21 Taco (that's a whole other story). At first, I looked at it like "grandpa's car". Was loving all the features on it, and the 100% made in Japan was a definite plus, unlike my Mexican made Taco. Build quality felt great, and the issues of the Start button and volume keys, I 100% percent agree with. I will say, the C pillar visibility also leaves something to be desired. First night backing into my driveway, I almost took out my trash can but the nanny saved me. I got to put nearly 1,000 miles on it road tripping for Thanksgiving. It's a great road road tripping vehicle. Do wish the heated seats were a little warmer, and an opening sunroof would have been awesome. I was kind of sad when I had to return it. Was averaging 38-40 MPGs.

As for highway noise, I really don’t notice it. Full price was $47,000 and as we have a relationship with a dealer we paid half of their $7000 dealer markup and felt lucky.
