Today I’m pretty excited because we have a pretty big car! This is the extended wheelbase model and I’m super excited to dive into this full-size family SUV so I can teach you how well it would actually function for families. Remember, just because something is big, it doesn’t always mean that it’s functional. Join me in figuring out if this car is a match for you and your family!

I love the outside of this car and the inside and I love how much it room it has for car seats and for all age kids. Thank you Kelly for taking time out of your day to give us these video's to help us out with safety for kids, how to put in your car seats etc. I'm in love with this car thanks for giving us a review before we buy so we know what were getting into!

I have the GW with the console in the second row for the kids toys, extra clothes and iPads there is also a second storage under that where I put a small garbage bin. My kids 8 and 4 yrs love the back seat they can get in and out on their own. The refrigerator is really handy I don’t think can ever buy a car without it in the feature 😂 I always have cold water for everyone and keeps breast milk fresh. I also appreciate that I can lower the car for loading things in the back.

This is great! Thanks Jeep for putting a lower anchor in the 3rd row! I want this in 2 years for my 3 kids when my oldest will be in a booster back there and I can latch connect it! Thanks for a great review Kelly

My thoughts from currently renting a 2022 Grand Wagoneer Series II: 0:08 Yes it is big, but it actually drives pretty well. Turn in nice, and even feels sporty for a full size SUV. The brakes are incredible, it brings this thing to stop incredibly fast 2:45 The massaging seats work really pretty well. They do something, still I don't think I would get much out of them 3:07 All the features they have thrown at it is a bit much, I might prefer just the regular Wagoneer. The McIntosh sound system was not that impressive either, quite muddy 4:22 For anyone watching you don't have to use that second screen to control the seats, you can just use the regular screen too (Kelly says this at 4:40)... Again it seems like a bit much. 5:45 Yep I think I would prefer the regular Wagoneer without the console in the center, but with the captains chairs. Having the captains chairs without the 2nd row console allows kids to just go in the back seat without having to move any seats. Kind of a game changer, especially if you have 4 kids. 6:15 The screens on the back of the seats, I see that just being annoying and hinder egress. The kids already have iPads too... 7:00 Hmm, will have to try out the second row ventilation without a ceiling vents. I will report back 8:00 Yep I think the 2nd row console just gets in the way for families 9:45 3rd row space is really good. Pretty much big enough for adults without any problems, can't be said for most SUVs 11:40 Yep If I was getting one, I would get the L version no matter what. The 12" of extra space if really nice to have, also allows you to fit a full 4x8 sheet of plywood inside. Also 130" wheelbase will be better for towing a travel trailer or anything like that. 12:00 One thing compared to other full size SUVs like the Tahoe/Yukon/Esclade or Expedition/Navigator is with the heavy duty tow package, this thing can tow around 9,850lbs to 10,000lbs. Also I would imagine the off road capability is superior since you can lock the both the front and rear diffs (with rock mode), it has a 2 speed transfer case, and up to 11" of ground clearance with the air suspension. I would be interested in how the ride quality compares to the others. With 22" wheels I do feel some smaller bumps and can feel that it is based on a full size truck, but the ride quality is pretty good up front. I still want to test 2nd and 3rd row ride quality. Still something like a BMW X7 will be quite a bit better. Also the V8 in my 2022 GW is a bit slow to respond, I would imagine the new incline 6 turbo hurricane to be better

In my testings ... The Escalade ESV rode the softest and felt the largest. The Navigator L had the firmest ride and is the smallest but didn't drive the smallest. The Grand Wagoneer L is as spacious or a touch larger than the Escalade cargo wise but drove the smallest of them all imho. Felt like a nice middle ground between the Escalade and Navigator. All that being said, we bought another Navigator L. If a person needed the most cargo space behind the 3rd row Escalade ESV or Grand Wagoneer L is the choice. I love the idea of the diesel in the Escalade and don't trust the 6.2L and all the lifter problems. I had such great concerns about quality on the Grand Wagoneer in general, we just ended up with a new Navigator.

I love my Grand Wagoneer L for kid hauling. You can get 5 car seats and a big dog in this with luggage. Get the 2nd row bench with no entertainment package and no other car on the market comes close in terms of usability. Also surprised to hear people dont like the back? I think it looks amazing.

I feel like this car is less for families and more for like executive type business people… I am looking at the Wagoneer but the Grand Wagoneer is excessive in my opinion.

Yea this, that second row climate touch screen in the middle is a no go for little kids banging away in it and getting jam on it.

Yes, I agree. If I was buying one I would probably get the Wagoneer L Series III (7800lb GVWR) in red or zenith silver with the heavy duty tow package, 2nd row captains, all weather mats, and that is it. I don't think the McIntosh is that great either, 22" wheels just make ride worse & add weight, and the pano roof is sort of cool but never gets used and adds weight.

The Grand Wagoneer is more executive styled with the 2 seats in the back with the center console set up. Family focused just get the regular wagoneer

How is your set up for your kids? I’m currently pregnant with twins that are due in two months and then I have a 3yr old in a convertible seat and my 5yr old in a booster seat. We were looking at the regular wagoneer and it seemed like it would have the space we need if we go with the bench seat option.

The other thing to keep in mind is that you can't get a pass thru on the Grand Wagoneer but you can on the Wagoneer, if that's important to you. @@kiaraherrera1860

@@kiaraherrera1860 I would definitely recommend the bench! With the car seat tilt it's so easy for the kids to climb back there. In the second row, I have a harness booster and two backless boosters. In the 3rd row I have a high back booster and a backless booster. I would probably latch the babies in the second row (one on the side and one on the middle) and keep the last seat free for 3rd row access. Then two older kids in the 3rd row. I only have 3 kids myself, but I drive 5 to school every day:) So with you having 4 and their friends etc, you'll definitely be happy with the bench. Sorry it took a minute to get back to you!

Everyone fails to mention that, even though the gigantic windows are a little ugly on the outside, they make for an incredible view on the inside, especially from that third row, and especially when compared to the suburban or Tahoe or Yukon which all have a C pillar that almost completely blocks the third row’s view to the outside. Every single car reviewer misses when the OEMs choose form over function.

This is very true. That along with that 3rd row moonroof makes for an open airy feeling. The Escalade feels very claustrophobic back there relatively speaking and it's the only one of the 3 that can't recline the rear seats. Navigator noticeably better view sideways.

The transmission dial is BAD. Takes up too much room and all that mid center console things should be up next to a transmission lever up to the right of the driver. The 2nd row vents are better. As a Dad I know kids like the horizontal breeze and it’ll go all the way to the third row.

EV9 seems better for families to me. I guess third-row access and storage are benefits, but driving this around a city would be a pain in the butt. Unbelievable that sunshades are special in the Grand Wagoneer. Otherwise, the car is way too over the top. More of a chauffeur vehicle IMO.

TLDR, this thing is so out of place. Which businessman would show off their family to their client in a jeep? The only scenario is: I wish I have lower income and net worth. So I can sign up a 10% APR 8 year loan with 50% debt to income ratio to show off how much I care about my family and love made in USA to my clients who swipe their credit card in front of me when I work at a McDonald.

Ordered one and read all the horror stories on reliability and tested the A/C in 2nd and 3rd row and it was atrocious and wouldn't cool the rear in the least. Hard pass. Have friends in dealership business and they say people are bailing on these fast and taking it in the shorts.

@@Ryan2022 I blame stellantis. It’s terrible design and a known issue. The front blows very cold and the 2nd and 3rd row not so much. Why would this be the EPA’s fault when other manufacturers can make it blow cold in the rear and located their vents accordingly?
