The creators are so desperate to continue making this show and that's such a rare trait in shows nowadays. You can tell the cancelation really crushed them. There's so much love in every aspect of this show. God, I hope Nick reconsiders, or at least passes the liscense to Netflix.

I will never understand how this show wasn't a massive success. YTV's treatment really was impressive. It was great seeing fan art submissions once again on the channel when they featured Rise art as a segment during its time on Zone Weekend and how The Zone had a two month story arc the summer of 2018 revolving around Rise's Ooze Myst Mystery. And yeah, them live-action turtle promos are some of my all-time favourites.

Its definetly was because of the changes. 2012 was the first ninja turtles thing Ive seen so it was really weird to see this kind. especially bc it was 2D.

I freaking love the character and animation style of this version of the Turtles. Fast paced, Gainax/Trigger level action scenes and a fun cast of characters. Like, seriously, the action scenes where INSANELY COOL. Also, yeah: Rise April is a lot of fun and the hate she got was stupid. She was way more entertaining than her 2012 version, imo. Her stupid love triangle and angsts ridden subplots got old REAL QUICK for me, so Rise April was an improvement imo.

@@brandonbrown6922 i kinda think that speaks more about the limited characters the turtle shows have made. Leo is almost unrecognizable because he isn't the leader or burdened by responsibility. We just know its him because he's a big blue turtle. All the turtles like having fun, not just mikey? They're all mikey clones now. April unfortunately doesn't wear a headband, so if she's not a boring ball of angst, not a damsel in distress, and not a ginger, who is she? All the characters fit in a neat little box before this show and it's great they've been let out

I like Rise me personally I feel like this series is going to be "The Batman" of the TMNT franchise. Where most people are going to look down on it at first, but give it a few years those same people who hated it are going to be saying "It wasn't as bad as I thought, I don't get why Nick would cancel it" hopeful the movie could bring the attention back to it.

I'll never forgive Nick for ending the show so soon, it was so stunning to look at and incredibly enjoyable to watch. It's probably my favorite cartoon and I'm not afraid to shout it from the rooftops!! I'm so happy I got to experience this show from its premier to it's finale.

Rise actually grabbed me about halfway through the first episode. I quickly acclimated to the stylized look and by the time Leo was phasing endlessly through that portal created by his mystic sword, I thought "Yea, this is some fun shit."

RIGHT?? I started watching it on a whim, and as soon as the clip from ep1 of Leo with the shadowed face with red eyes came on. I went 'oh, the people who make this are TOTALLY anime geeks, I love it!' and kept watching. Then that first real fight scene with the mystic weapons happened, and I was in love haha. That one scene where Leo is running up to the giant monster and slashes at its ankle is SO COOL. I started watching in... 2018? around then? And I'll admit before I started (on a whim, saw the promo art and went 'oh?') I was hesitant bc you know how reboots tend to be, but MAN did I eat my words real dang quick XD this show was everything I ever wanted out of a cartoon like this, I'm heartbroken it got canceled

I love how rise of the tmnt was such fresh new take on the franchise coming of the 2012 series , it was kind of a shame people couldn't see it that way as first , trashing on the series because it was radically different from other iterations (which each part of the franchise does anyway so i don't know what the big deal is) .

I think it's because of a few issues. 1. There was a bigger gap between the other previous series ending and a new one starting then we got after TMNT 2012 ended and Rises began. The gap between 87 and 03 was like 8 years (with the only thing between them was that awful AWFUL next mutation series) and even the 03 to 2012 gap was about 3 years. Plus before Rises each new Turtles show was on different network with much different feels while this was the second TMNT cartoon. 2. Though as Cartoongamer8000 pointed out each TMNT show can take a bit to get into (since yeah most cartoons take a few episodes to really find their footing at least some taking a season) Rise felt like it took longer to get into that groove then those other shows did especially since 3. There was very much a feel of Teen Titans Go especially in the first part of Rise. You know a new rebooted take that makes everything this loud obnoxious comedy where everyone is the goofball idiot and nothing is taken seriously? Like yeah there is eventually more of a plot and focus put on but people had that feeling early on that really did hamper many's enjoyment of the series. I do think it is a shame that this happened to Rises especially in seeing others review and realizing how much really was put in the show but it's still possible something better will come of it especially since yeah TMNT is still such a huge brand and Nick isn't just going to let it go to waste and if it realizes the fan demand will bring it back. It would suck if this was the first TMNT cartoon to end on such a bad cliffanger because yeah whether or not you liked the other TMNT cartoons all of them had definite complete endings that wrapped everything up and it's not something you can say any other cartoon franchise ever had that had like three variations at least from it's source material but this did and I'd hate for this show to break that trend.

What do you mean? The 2012 series knew how to keep old elements, and make them fresh again. They respected where the show came from. Rise on the other hand, just wanted to do it's own thing. And while that isn't bad per se, it's not what people enjoyed or wanted.

@@X360M as much of rise fan myself, i agree with your sentiment, the 2012 series never made me interested in tmnt but i heard that it certainly uses a lot of elements from older iterations, including the darker tone comics. But it was quite modern in its own time. Rise however choose to be more different, although you can see they reference a lot of older iterations, it's not part of the show, the show is new and stand out the most because it's different, it's certainly not very favorable for old fans, and no body have ever wanted something to change if their already comfortable, the basic formula of tmnt is already fun in itself, but rise do its own thing, and i have to say, it's very enjoyable for new fans, and people who have never were interested with tmnt, and some old fans can come to appreciate the show itself. 2012 perfect in its own way, aswell as rise, perfect in its own way

One of the best brotherhood aspects from a show. All of them and the supporting characters feel like a genuine family. Sure they get on each other's nerves all the time. But they love each other and support each other. Also a show, that you can tell everyone on board loved the show.

I really really hope people wake up and give this show a chance before it gets the plug pulled for real- it’s already a HUGE SHAME season 2 got cut short and had 3 seasons of story crammed in for no good reason. I want this show to get the chance to tell it’s story at its own pace- I really hope we still have time

If you want to know that your investing into something worthwhile I'd say watch episode 9 "Bug Busters", and 12 "Evil League of Mutants". Those episodes are good examples of how the show balances it's characters, story, humor, and tone. That is, if you ever want to start watching. You don't have to though. ^-^

Honestly it's best you did. Now you can watch it all at once and avoid hiatuses and a crazy infrequent airing schedule. You won't have to wait weeks-months for 11 minutes of content.

This show stole my heart and became my favorite show very quickly. I loved basically everything about it! When the finale aired, I was actually crying because my favorite show was over so quickly and unexpectedly. I really wish this show would get a second chance.

@@hylwicks naw a lot of people listen to them. Especially in this day and age where most people dont have cable and stream shows. Obviously you'll listen to critics since you have to actively pursue shows to watch. Nick making Rise EXTREMELY difficult to watch anywhere but on nick didn't do it any favors

I'm giving it a chance now after having been rubbed the wrong way by it coming out a year after 2012. It's a lot cooler than I first thought and I love their version of Donnie and Raph so much! Definitely will be on the look out for the film when it comes out.

I kind of dislike how people won't give this a chance. I understand if you grew up with older versions but did you really want the same slow, serious story panned out again... for what, the second or third time? I've never watched TMNT. Ever. I came across Rise when it was suggested in a video of mine of lists of shows to watch a while back, maybe two months ago? But didn't pay attention til it was brought up again last week. And let's just say... I've been DYING for another 2D animated show I can watch. It's a shame it was canceled, cause I actually liked it for it's diversity. And as an aspiring animator myself, the style and animation was top notch. Often or not the same arguments pop up in every comment section about rise though "But April isn't supposed to be black" "The style is ugly" "Their personality is changed" But... change isn't a bad thing??? Hello???? Idk. It's just sad that's all most people say about it. I hardly see any positive stuff even when I try and search for it cause all it seems like is people shitting on the show. Shame.

This was by far the most unique interpretation of the turtles and I loved it. It was so refreshing to not have all the comedy be thrusted on Mikey's shoulders, it was great that they gave Donnie something to do, and I was so happy that Leo and Raph's relationship was something other than constant bickering. Also this show was not afraid to have the group both say and show how much they cared about each other.

Fans haven't given up on Twitter. They are still people demanding more Rise. What this show needs, more then anything, is visibility, to reach a bigger audience. The more people hear of, and give it a chance, the better. The more fans don't give up, there is hope. One of the writers on Twitter said that keeping the fandom alive, and keeping up hope for this show is the only way to get another season. Rise deserves better. Don't give up. It's really nice to watch videos like this that comprehensively sing Rise's praises. I'm sorta the same in that I had a passing interest in the 2004 turtles, but I didn't like the 2012 version since the brothers were so mean to each other (also I was in my "cartoons are for babies" phase). It wasn't until I saw the Rise turtles that I became a Huge turtles fan, and honestly it's just about the only version that I like. I really hope people keep talking about this show and make Nick realize their Huge Mistake. Thank you so much for making this video!

I was a big fan of the 2003 show in my very early teens (well after the show was no longer airing, I watched it online), never got around to watching the 2012 version, and only just recently got into Rise because of seeing clips of it online. And lemme tell you, Rise is by far my favorite. It has EVERYTHING I could possibly want. My only complaint is that it was cut so tragically short by the studio. The fact that it has a lighter tone and comedic priority is what makes the darker moments hit so hard, and the epic moments shine so much brighter. Not to mention the voice acting, the characterizations, the animation??? God tier. I love it with all my heart.

Honestly, it took me forever to watch this series because no matter how many times I tried, I just COULDN'T get into it and I don't know why! The first episodes of season 1 felt like I was sludging through mud. I was actively doing other things while watching the episodes. But then I watched Hot Soup: The Game and suddenly my interest stared growing. Now I'm in the beginning of Season 2 and having a blast. 2012 will always be my favorite, but Rise is definitely worth the watch.

I'm sorry to my fellow tmnt fans that I noped out after the first episode. I've been watching this show for the past 3 weeks and it's SO GOOD. the humor is funny, the action is the best animation I've ever seen, the characters are true to themselves even tho their roles are different: a huge testament to the writers! I regret that a lot of us slept on this show, because out of all the tmnt shows that aired I want more of this one the most :(

After the end of a few of my favourite shows a couple years back like Gravity Falls, She-Ra, and Adventure Time just to name a few, I haven't enjoyed any new animated series after them. That is until ROTTMNT came out. Rise of the TMNT is such a breath of fresh air and it deserves more love! The action, the comedy, the animation, the characters, the voice acting, the artwork, everything about it is awesome! My favourite part about it though is its characters' relationships with each other. You can tell even from the first episodes that these guys really love each other. Yes, the turtle fam all also loved each other from past incarnations, but Rise took a much more open approach with it and I absolutely love that. I really wanna see more of this show, not just a movie (Though I'm really excited for that too ^-^), but a proper continuation of the series. Best wishes to the creators

Oh wow! I love those turtle bumpers! They felt so fun, and remind me of bumpers I remember seeing when I was a younger during the 2000s. And they make me feel excited for the show like bumpers and ads are supposed to do. I wish the bumpers here in the US for Rise (and a number of other series) were more like that.

I think the saddest part is that most cancelled shows are usually just not renewed for another season, while this series was cancelled mid-production, so a lot of scripts, recorded dialogue, and animatics were gone to waste.

I think Cartoon Network can be really blamed for the cold reception this series received. After teen titans go, powerpuff girls, thunder cats roar and The new Ben 10 show, such a radical shift left many scared to even give it a chance. I also think it was a slow burn kind of a show that wanted to take its time in a world that isn’t a fan of that anymore.

This is not the first time a show has alienated people for doing something different, especially not when it comes to Turtles. If you’re going to blame a rival network for how you percieve cartoons, I’d say you’re shooting yourself in the foot.

I never gave this show a chance. The reveal for that particular foot ninja doesn't sit well with me, sure it could be the result of the show getting rushed for its second season but, I do feel bad for not actually giving it a proper chance. Especially considering how YTV treated it until spongebob popped in as stated in video. I can tell for a fact they truly went all out on both the characters and stylization for movement which makes it fresh, though some designs I don't connect with immediately. A good video though I feel like something's missing from it, at least it has made me reconsider giving it a watch.

RISE WAS AMAZING!!!! May I just say that their humor GOT me soooooooo perfectly! I really felt some connection to ALL the turtles, which has NEVER happened before- I have LIKED them all before but this time I was CONNECTED and so invested in ALL the boys! I even loved Spliter, April, Draxum AND Casey! But Mikey was just MY BOY! He was AWESOME! And the animation was completely just like, sooo smooth and the fight scenes!? THEY WERE EPIC!!! Rise is my comfort show- I even went and bought a XL Mikey Figure- Super expensive but SO worth it. And the fact that the fandom are still going strong with beautiful art works, fan comics and crossovers is just beyond glorious. Big hits in the ROTTMNT fan comics are obviously the :cass apocalyptic series, Lore Of Violence Era (L.O.V.E) , Afremath and Aftermath Impact, and Replica- those are just the ones of the top of my head! I REALLY hope that Rise comes back- It is my favourite TMNT version EVER and I would just LOVE to have it back. (Plus the whole movie was just so freaking cool that i pushed all my friends into watching it!) Ok, sorry, I'm leaving now.

Thanks to the TAAFI panel last week for getting me into the show! I watched it in 3 days, and we need m o r e. I can't believe I just brushed it off in 2018! It's also a shame it's not on any streaming platforms in the US, since most people don't even have cable anymore. Kids won't watch it if it's not where they can easily find it, and I think that's part of what led to its downfall. We seriously need to save this show! It's rare to see the creators have so much fun making something like this, and nick just threw it away. #SAVEROTTMNT

This show was awesome and hilarious 😆 sigh I wish they had a season three and four it sucked so hard when they ended it so soon just because of toy sales that just burned me up with rage 😤 I love Donnie and my favorite episode is the library day care part when Mikey ruled them all by saying new toy 😆 that killed me and the dance clothes montage I never new Donnie and his brothers could look really good in clothes 🤔😁👍

The show is so fantastic! I think more people would be open to it if they viewed it as a spider verse type of thing, with the completely different takes on the characters. They grew on me so much that I was also upset when they decided to make Leo the leader! I think they should’ve just sticked to their guns and kept Raph as the leader. Here’s hoping the new movie also doesn’t forget Cassandra Jones.

It's such a shame how awful Nick treated this show. It really deserves better. Hopefully it will be looked at fondly in the future. In the mean time I'm telling everyone I know how awesome it is and that they should watch it.

Man this is such a genuine show. I love it so deeply. 2020 has been such a bad year, as everyone knows, and when I watched this show it was the first of many genuine laughs I've had in awhile. If you're planning on watching it but are still skeptical, get to at least episode 12 "Evil League of Mutants"! You should be hooked by then :)

Honestly, Nickelodeon always fucking cancels the good shows!! Don’t think I didn’t forget about Invader Zim, Nick! Honestly was skeptical as well about the show, but gave it a shot since my online friend was such a huge fan of it (mostly Donatello, but ngl It ended up being the same with me). Ended up loving it because of the absolutely beautiful colors and pop-culture comic style look of the show, all the characters truly being fully fleshed out and showing them acting and being like the teenagers they are, and soon enough growing in to the roles we known them for (Leo slowly growing into the leader role and later on does take it.) Loved how they start as noobs or aloof because they’re new to their jobs as heroes, and that they’re not going to be fully fleshed out heroes from the get go and need time to learn. Especially how they actually feel like a family and not four guys feeling like roommates that have to deal with each other, living with their master. But an actual family relationship, just love the changes so much and honestly mad at myself for missing out on this.

I love this show!!! The best version of TMNT hands down!! The movie was so badass!! Love the Staten island jokes being Ghost and Rae did the Shredder song recently👐!! All I can say is "HOT SOUPPPPPPP!!" AND "Cowabunga!!" 😎🤙

I caught this on Netflix and wow this is probably my favorite incarnation of the turtles! Splinter is by far my favorite he's actually a dad. They act like a family, they act like brothers like (let's smell this). Mikey is so adorable in this one, when he drew the family portrait for gram gram was the best part!

Excellent video! ^v^ this was the show that got me into the TMNT franchise (couldn't care less about it before) and I'm absolutely heartbroken to see it go! But hopefully the Netflix movie can help build some support for it. (Also, kudos to you for the Wander Over Yonder shoutout - I loved that show too)

I'm definitely part of the camp that slept on this HARD until folks on social media were sharing clips of sakuga-level animation from the show. In hindsight, Nickelodeon really could've handled marketing a bit better than they did... Had they shown a proper action sizzle reel or in-show clips leading up to the release, I'm almost certain it would've performed better. IDK who's idea it was to do that roof top reveal party where they only showed still images of their new designs, but that regrettably made it DOA for many folks, including myself. Here's hoping the movie coming out next month gives it some newfound momentum into a revival. Stranger things have happened in the world of TV!

Petition, anyone? Letters sent into Netflix/Nick demanding it be passed to Netflix to get the 5-star treatment this show and the entire cast and creators deserve? Sure, we're getting a movie, but this show and everyone that's pouring their heart and soul into making it deserve better and the fans who've supported it deserve at least another season, if not two.
