Treasure Nest is a 3D animated short following an adventuire of a Blue a cat-like creature in search of hidden riches. Along his way, Blue discovers a bird-like creature named Peanut who he reluctantly brings along in hopes that she will be the key to unlocking the treasure.
Through the use of such programs as Maya ZBrush Photoshop Houdini Nuke and After Effects the Treasure Nest thesis group presents a beautifully hand-painted world in which Blue’s resolve is tested throughout his journey... eventually leading him to a prize of which he never expected.

This is a great animated short. I love the concept that you should be careful what you wish for. I also read what they did to make this movie. I think they used 8 different types of software. Watch the special effects here and pay attention to both the credits and the wonderful "Easter egg" that occurs after the credit.

I love how they animated the eyes, normally for eye expressions they would have the full eye shrink tiny, on this one they made only the pupils shrink or go big. Great job on that 😍

cool short with good work all around, special mention for the texturing and lighting though that gave it a hand painted look especially when the characters went into the cave.

so well done - the drawings (or whatever they're called now) are fantastic! and the backgrounds - incredible! to me, they are inspired by van Gogh, of course - the way the tree bark swirls. . . i'm going to take a screen shot and save a couple. the expressions on Cat are marvelous. do you remember in "The Pink Panther" when the inspector is driven mad by Clouseau? - his expression is just like the Cat's with those twitching eyes. wonderful video! Thanks. . . :} btw, that poor cat, to put up with the bird's constant chittering (and he only went really nuts once) and to find what? another bird LOL

Weird character designs, but that's not necessarily a bad thing; I really like that chicken creature since it's cute, annoying, and resembles a feathered gourd with skinny limbs. The colors are nice, bright, and include complementary combinations (i.e. the feline has blue fur and orange-yellow eyes while the bird has orange-yellow feathers and bright blue eyes), and the character personalities are foils, which are often good decisions in stories. ;)

The bird still lives! (Remember it was "caught" and appeared on leapords head? Thrown off and reappeared?) At end of vid it lands on rock that almost crushed it

when the blue character threw the annoying bird and it came back I was dying!! 😂😂😂😂 when the yellow bird died I was shocked and then 😪 the egg hatched and the pink one came out and the look on the blue characters face made me laugh even more 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 XD
