This song brings me tears. Brent Smith delivers an emotional performance of a man who realizes his relationship is at its end as he cannot make her happy any longer, though he still loves her. My goodness! This Shinedown performance is exactly what I needed to see before sitting down with Brent Smith in a Tea Time Interview, premiering right afterwards!
Join professional opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff, as she listens to Shinedown performing "Call Me" for the first time.

My ex husband and my wedding song was Follow You Down by Shinedown... Another incredible song by them. We went to see Shinedown shortly before our divorce. I was SO very in love with him, and like the song says- I would have followed him anywhere. He left me on our FIRST wedding anniversary because I had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and his words to me that day were "I didn't sign up to take care of a sick wife. You're too much trouble. I'm out." And he packed his things and left. I connected SO much with this song, Call Me, because I loved him so much. And even though I loved him so much and I think he was a jerk for doing what he did, I also recognized that staying with me would have hurt him, as shitty as it may be to be hurt by something like your wife being diagnosed with an illness that they didn't ask for.

I don't even want to imagine losing my brother... I know that there aren't any words i, a Stranger from the other side of the Planet, could say that would make you feel better. But i still wanted to let you know that i'm very, very sorry for your loss! 💚

This is one of my favorite videos you've put out. Not only do I love Brent Smith's voice (he and Corey Taylor are my favorite modern rock singers), but I love watching people "geek out" on things they are passionate about. Loved it. I pray you've listened to his rendition of "Unchained Melody" as well. He does a phenomenal job... As you might expect at this point.

Shinedown is a band that is so beautifully unique that any time you hear a song from them it’s like just hearing it again. I’ve seen them twice and both times it was just like watching a masterpiece. This song has saved me from myself and I’m so thankful to be here now which is something I’d never have been able to say when I was younger

SHINEDOWN takes care of their audience and their audience takes care of them. They are grateful and thankful for their audience. Something you don’t see with younger artists. They operate with the perception that the audience should be thankful and grateful that they are performing. Which is why the people that know these guys love these guys. They give everything on every stage and every show

This song and whole album got me through a very dark part of my life dealing with the difficult decision to walk away from a relationship that one isn’t ready to walk away from, but understand and acknowledge it’s for the best for both parties.

Great reaction as usual. Brent has one of the best voices in the business. I highly recommend checking out some of the stuff from Smith & Myers (Brent & Zach from Shinedown) where they do mostly covers. Unchained Melody and Sitting on the Dock really show how amazing his voice is. He also kills Black from Pearl Jam.

I remember the first time I heard Shinedown. It was in a music video on VH1 I think on Satellite TV. It was called Second Chance and I knew right then and there I loved his voice. So many great songs and performances since then. The music videos are pretty good with the story of the song. Enemies is a fun one to watch.

Brent Smith by far the most strategic and specific voices while Shinedown is my number one time for best bands, as his natural approach is so charismatic... it's impossible to leave aLive show unimpressed, or unwavered. Glad you get an interview. My faves are of he and Myer's just having fun, u serious, natural conversations.

This takes me back. This is one of their earlier live recordings. You can tell by Brent’s longer hair Brent’s voice is beautiful. If you need to feel a certain emotion, there’s probably a Shinedown song where Brent will make you on an emotional journey

Well, "earlier" as in 2010-ish. This is post drug addict, and kicking alcohol, Brent. He put on a lot of weight and was so very self-conscious about it, wearing tons of layers to hide it, and overheating himself constantly in the process :( I'm glad he's essentially a gym rat now, for his health, but I sad for the reason he was pushed in that direction. We have Kathy Lee Gifford and her inability to have any manners or a filter to thank.

Shinedown has been my favorite band since shortly after 45 was released in 2003. I was working at Spencer's Gifts and heard it coming on over the store's XM Radio. I have seen them 4 times and every time is amazing. To this day, they are still my favorite band, and I am in the process of writing a book/screenplay where they play a big part, and if screenplay, hopefully an appearance... I'm so glad you have discovered them, and I totally understand your love for live performances, but I really hope you have been able to listen to the studio versions of all of these songs. The live performances, while live and raw, a lot of times don't get the same energy of the studio versions. The vocals are held back, and the overall "flow" of the song is different. Enough of that... I hope you continue your Shinedown rabbit hole. Most any song that you pick from them is going to be amazing. But like a lot of people have suggested, The Crow and The Butterfly is a definite must!
