Surprising results - Two Trees TTS 20 Pro

Two Trees sent out their latest addition to their line of lasers. The machine is rated at 20 watts and has a work area of 418x418. It does have limit switches to aid in smooth operation. The kit that I was sent contains the air assist and the honeycomb accessories for the machine. The current price at the time of this video is less than $700 with an option for discounts. This is the most affordable laser that I have tested that I could see using in my shop full time.

Just bought one of these and running material tests with your settings. 3mm mdf on a test grid 3mm/s -10mm/s 80%-100%, all cut through cleanly. 3.6mm Ash face ply, 7.7mm/s at 80% up all cut cleanly, 8.4mm/s cut cleanly at 90% upwards. This will be replacing my K40 for most jobs, so easy to set up and only a little slower. Just use the K40 for acrylic or fast cutting blanks. At £350 it's a steal. (New they are £380, I got one from a You Tube reviewer used just for his review. When the 40w diodes start dropping in price next year I will grab one.

I see that you home to rhe back left instead of the front left. As i also work in a home-made enclosure, did you have to relocate the end stop to the back? If so, what did you need to do it? Thank you for your time.

I set my machines to go to back left after job completion.

@@TheClackShack thanks. Now I have to decide between a neje with a 10w (for workspace) and this for power. Both for about the same budget (little more if max 4 without chain, little less if max 3). I'm moving up from a small neje 2 with a 3.5w laser (input) to be able to do some cutting and make some toys for my kids ;) Not sure if I need the extra room but the z of the max4 looks interesting ;)

Wao it is really fast compared to the tt-5.5s that I have, what size can be cut on the included honeycomb? I want to buy this machine next week possible

The usable work are is about 360x360 on the honeycomb

Another review dropped today and the guy was getting full cuts on 20mm birch plywood up to 15-20mm/s running a 50%-100% range. I wonder if your original no-air tests sooted the lens and reduced its power going forward? Might be better to test WITH air first, then without air.

If the lens got that dirty, that fast, the machine has big issues. To cut 20mm, it would need multiple passes. It is a good machine but I would need to witness (in person) it cutting 20mm plywood in a single pass at speeds over 15mm. 36 watt machines can't do that.

You can mark stainless with or without marking spray. Other metals only with marking spray. You cannot engrave

For the price, this looks impressive. Are you using Windows with your Lightburn - if not, have you used the Windows recommended software (LaserGRBL)?

Lightburn is a more versatile version of GRBL. I only run lightburn

hi i’m new to this im looking to buy one of these machines can you please help me with a couple questions? first do you use just a regular lap top to connect to the machine to cut? if not what do you need to get to create your projects on?

The lasers require a very basic machine. You will need a windows 10 or so system.

If I wanted to mount this to a piece of MDF, about how big would it need to be?

26 inches deep and 24 wide would work and allow about a half inch extra around it.

How robust is the assembly for x and y axis movement?

It is surprisingly sturdy for the weight of the module. No issues even at high speeds.

I use lightburn and just hit the home button. Make sure you have the origin set correctly

I like the TS20 better, it actually has a usable z-axis. The TTS is cheaper though and is still a good machine.

You could use most any rotary made for diode lasers. Not sure if they offer it as an add on or not @@shanefoster.
