I think Eric could be an outstanding spoke-person for anything, he just doesn't know it. He has a very engaging way to speak out, great voice pitch, tone, clarity and pronunciation. He could narrate an audio book or stand as emcee in an award show and make both things equally entertaining. He could start making videos reviewing candles and I'd still be hooked. 👏

This video saved me! I always see videos comparing Rollo to Zebra and had no idea the Brother brand existed. Definitely going with them and I love the fact that their printer actually holds the label roll as opposed to me having to find a way to feed a stack of labels into the others; it’s not ideal in my opinion.

I’ve never had a problem with Brother. Brother tries to keep the drivers updated as long as possible, thus expanding the life of the printer less e-waste

I use the brother thermal printer and also tonner printer from the same brand, they are very very good for daily use, its peace of tech compatible with everything. We have used a Rollo for over a year. It was good for a while but later, the print quality just keeps getting worse. I've cleaned it thoroughly all the time and made adjustments to density and speed. Nothing helps. In addition, it is not network capable. I suggest to anyone not to buy a Rollo from our own experience. I messaged the company looking to get a new printer strip. They don't have parts! You've been warned. I'll be shopping around for better thermal printers.

As time goes on and people get hundreds and thousands of prints these printers belts they will be having similar problems. If the company doesn't supply print heads as a replacement hopefully the consumers will take notice.

On Eric's advice I managed to get a Zebra LP2844 for £50 ($65). Although 10 years old, it works perfectly. These things are built like tanks. Keep up the good work.

Im shopping around to find the best printer for me and my needs. I was on Bothers official website and i went to their customer support chat and had a conversation with a representative. He was really patient, clearly knew their product line well and even chased down a few links to aid me in finding one of the products that suited my need and budget. Cant get a better customer support experience than that ladies and gentlemen. I have nothing to say bad about the Rollo, i just dont know it or their company yet as ive only looked at dynamo, brother and some fake off brand ones so far.

On both printers, the printhead is non replaceable. If one or more heating elements in the printhead fail you will get unwanted lines in your label design. Eventually the printer will become unusable. Direct thermal paper is very abrasive and will wear out the printhead faster. For people who plan to print a lot of labels daily, the Toshiba BV410D is a better choice because it features a replaceable print head, includes BarTender label design software and offers faster print speeds.

I have had Rollo for a long time and it prints fine. I dont have anything to compare it too. my first issue was the fan fold labels are very sensitive to DUST. I had to make a box to fit the rollo AND the labels in to protect the labels from dust. Dust will make the first few labels print horrible until it gets to a fresh label. works good in my shoebox lol . Customer service is awesome. they answer almost immediately through a chat system/ email. I was looking around because Pirate ship does not recommend rollo because of low quality prints. they recommend the brother. . Ill stay with my rollo . OH By the way Rollo now offers a wireless version

Got the Rollo and am quite happy. Truth be told, if you are just printing labels for internet sales (and are not shipping from some huge warehouse), about any thermal printer will do. You just need to find one that will work the way you need it to work. I know Bearded Picker uses at least two different ones. 4XL on the road and a Zebra at home. For me, I just need a durable printer that uses NON proprietary labels. No mobile printing, so the cord is OK with me. I use rolls and fanfolds, whatever I find cheapest at the time. IMO, any thermal printer under $200 is worth looking at. Unless you need wireless, then get ready to fork over more money or get "techie" and learn to use a program like Raspberry Pi. I'd advise NEW over used though, as anytime I've looked for used thermal printers, they aren't much cheaper than new printers.

Both printers can print up to about 4" wide. Smaller is fine.

They have stated wireless version with mobile compatibility. They said release this year. Originally Q1 but can't blame then if they held it off or ran into issues because of the virus.

Besides no wireless, how does this brother printer compare to the non wireless brother ql-1100 wide format. I notice the wireless version is as cheap as the rollo but would you say its as good as this brother?

Pretty much, the 1100 is not wireless and no bluetooth. Its USB only.

Well, i assume you mean wifi wireless when you say wireless, and in that case, both a WIFI and Bluetooth printer comes down to the Brother QL1110NWB, there is cheap wireless printers (wifi) and cheap bluetooth printers, but not combined from what i know!

The Brother wins all together! The rollo is a big headache by far its not convenient for a desk workspace. Customer support is very helpful id rather pay 100 dollars more and get the brother. and get better benefits

That one has a very low dpi and uses different kinds of paper. People say there are clarity issues and it's not exactly for the purpose you described. Let me know if it works though.

@@thecollegepickeri only just noticed this but we might have premise for a class action lawsuit against amazon for bait and switch for that exact thing. they have a list price which is lower than reseller's set prices. so you go there for the product, but instead you get marked up options for the same product. it seems textbook. the strange part of relevant law is that it creates liability to claim an untrue posted price, even when the new price is lower. possibly because of the deception's impact to cause people to buy. it is unwise to speculate about judge reasoning, but it might be because someone might see 80% off, and feel compelled to buy it, when that discount is deception. sites like udemy routinely have sales but keep standard prices they revert-to to avoid this.

LOL. I will refuse to buy Rollo, just for the fake sale of $199 ($100 off) when $199 is actually already a massive mark up from the old price. It's a rip-off disguised as a sale.
