Just about every time I make a video, I think "Mannn, I SHOULD have mentioned this also." One of those things is: OF COURSE you can use something like a massager or sander with sandpaper removed to vibrate bubbles out of the mold. When making the Free-Range Chicken, we used a dual-head back massager and it worked very well. It may be ideal to fill the mold PARTIALLY, hit it with the vibration while you tilt it at different angles to allow any trapped bubbles to escape, then fill it the rest of the way and hit it with vibration some more. Happy casting to you! Steady Craftin videos are made with the help of DIRECT SUPPORT: www.patreon.com/steadycraftin (You'll also get access to the printable 3D scans of my original sculpted figures, MP3s, exclusive behind-the-scenes videos, shop discounts, and more.) My family and I are so grateful that I get to do this.

A lot of people spray mold release thinking that that will help make the bubbles Escape but it doesn't talcum powder or baby powder helps release bubbles trapped in tight areas or crevices. The only downfall about using the baby powder your molds will dry out quicker from the baby powder. So after so many pulls of a particular mold I will spray them down with mold release so that way the mold can get lubricated and I could get more extended life out of the mold. I notice you use Specialty Resin resins I have been using them for years that's what I cast my models with.

That's a good idea, actually. I've found these particular materials to be just expensive across the board, due to the elements required to make them. I can say tin-cure silicone is generally cheaper than platinum-cure silicone, but there's a strength disadvantage, too. And that would be the deal with resin... because the cheaper stuff tends to be more brittle. So I guess we'd have to factor in what we're using them for. We could also talk about ways to get the most mileage out of your materials, like recycling silicone chunks, and using backfill materials with slush casting. I've made a note to make a video about this! Look for it to be covered sometime down the road. ;)

@@TheCrafsMan I think a big step in getting you even more comfortable and less stressed about the release of a weekly video is when we get you to understand that, while every single one of us absolutely love the crafts, a lot of times we are just here to hear your voice, watch you make crafs, and hear you're incredibly well timed comedic jokes... Sometimes I'm not even sure you realize just how funny some of your natural quirks are... it's one of the most endearing parts about the many endearing things about you. To most of us you are like everything all in one package. ASMR, unintentional ASMR, crafts, old stories, cool info about the process of making these types of videos and how it grows over time with your channel, collectors, makers..... I'm serious when I say that I can go on like that all day, but I'll spare you lol So anytime you feel like you're making the same video twice or anytime you feel like your videos need more, please stop and remember this -- it doesn't and they don't. Most of us are here because of you. There are tens of thousands of crafting videos on KZfaq, many great channels, but they all lack one huge detail - they aren't Crafsman. Most of us wouldn't care if you simply made a video taping your weekly adventures in crafting and simply talking over it like you normally do the whole time - sometimes about the actual craft you're doing and sometimes about non-craft stuff. Quite literally put that video on every single week and your core audience would have never been happier or more pleased. So if you're ever fighting with yourself about always needing to "one-up" yourself at certain points in time..... please don't do that, because it is never ever necessary. You one-up yourself all the time just by growing and learning and letting us take a peek at your personal progress on your journey to fulfill lifelong dreams! Never ever doubt yourself or the fact that your style simply works.

If youtube would just run pre-roll ads or stick them at the end, it would be fine. They're too aggressive with their ads though and just stick them wherever, usually loudly at that. It would drive the people who find Crafsman relaxing away and people who try to learn will be frustrated by the interruptions- especially those who appreciate Crafsman's slower delivery due to learning disorders or various kinds. Not trying to rant, though. I hope I didn't come across that way; I'm just joining the discussion.

@@jackpijjin4088 I block all ads and not ashamed to say it and instead try to support content creators directly by buying their stuff or donating. KZfaq's ads that get inserted are too aggressive - I 100% agree. I am talking about giving sponsored shout-outs that are part of the video and can't be edited out by the likes of "people like me" that block ads. To the other comments: Would Crafsman saying in a Crafsman sort of way that a video was sponsored by a specific product vendor once in a video really stop you from watching? It certainly doesn't stop me on a dozen other channels that update regularly and produce worthwhile content.

Brilliant, as usual - and anything that involves robots gets an automatic thumbs up from me! :) Here's another tip for reducing boobles - and helping your casting material flow into tiny nooks and crevices: heat your mold first! Use a hairdryer or hot air gun (set on low, or held a long way back!) or, even better, leave your mold to soak in hot water for ten minutes. Let it dry off (and it'll dry quite quickly cos it's already warm) and then pour your goo into it: the heat will reduce the viscosity of the goo and make it easier for the boobles to rise to the surface. It works particularly well if you're casting in a material that hardens when it cools - like chocolate or sugary candy stuff. The warm mold keeps it warm for longer and lets it flow into every little detail.

Super useful!!! That's ALWAYS my problem. I have such a small craft area a pressure pot would take up half of it.......and I'm kind of scared of them. LOL. But I keep getting bubbles in my molds and it drives me batty. This was such a great video with so many different solutions!

i just wanna say i used to only do pen and paper sort of arts, and a bit of sculpting and minis, but after the wonderful experience this channel (and others that came into my recommended after :) ) has brought me, i've started to study making all sorts of knick knacks and pattywacks, so thank you, crafsman.
