We recently hit 100k miles on our Freghtliner Cascadia so we thought it'd be a good time to sit down & give you our thoughts about it compared to our last truck which was a Freightliner M2-112. ✌️❤️ 🚛

My 2017 gas canyon does that to,if I'm on cruise and I go over about 4 over the set speed, this growl and resistance sets in, never had this on a gas engine, love it. My old rigs in the EU, 2002's, we could pre program engine breaking etc on the dash. Had electro magnetic brake on the drive shaft to avoid over heating the wheel brakes, nice in the winter in ice and snow.

you can get a cowling for the windows so the air and wiper fluid will deflect by the window, great if you are a smoker too. It also helps with that choppy wind noise you sometimes get

I drive a Volvo day cab at work five days a week that has 1,4350,000 miles it's a 06 and it is a very reliable truck. I drove a Freightliner when I was over the road and it was also a good truck for the most part but when it got to be around 350,000 miles it had a few oil leaks.

Just watched a couple of your videos. Pretty interesting. I'm not a trucker by any means, just city deliveries in everything from a minivan, a sprinter or a 5 ton, depending on what needs doing. I think i would like highway or long distance trips. Couldn't afford to buy my own unit though. I will keep watching. Very interesting I have subscribed too. By the way, watched the new truck tour too. You could literally live in there. Maybe slightly bigger water tank with endless hot water, especially when connected to water source. Grey water holding tank and dump where allowed?
@TheCraftyTrucker

Thanks for watching. We’ve done a ton of videos that does help answer a lot. You don’t have to by your own truck to do this job though. There are plenty of fleet owner who hire drivers for these trucks. Most do require team though. Jason did a lot of local deliveries in Dallas before we went over the road. We did technically live in that truck as we stayed out on the road for many months. Longer hot water would have been nice lol

On my Old Cascadias (2015s & 2016s) I used to have to wedge my fifth wheel puller between the seat and the brake pedal to check my brake lights. The New Cascadia with the light check button is amazing. It's also the only one I've seen that also includes the reverse light in the light check. And E-coast is wonderful. My truck was averaging over 9mpg at 80klbs thanks to that little feature.

To be honest and I’ve been saying this for years now, probably over 5 years now, they should mandate LED lights on all vehicles sold. It’s literally difference between day and night. Its really a safety issue. You can see a deer from a distance and slow down in enough time. Its just very comforting to have visibility and for big rigs it should be mandated.

I’m glad y’all enjoyed your decision to upgrade. I’ve always believed that the price to alleviate stress is worth it. All of the little things matter, especially over 3-5 years of hard work. You’ll spend less time going down the road thinking what you should have and could have, instead of feeling proud of what you’ve earned. Thanks guys for the great content! 👍 For the rain issue, if not a fan of a traditional rain vent guard you see on cars, I have seen A-pillar wind deflectors on the newest models, but I can’t tell if that’s a solution.

The system that slows you before the top is called IPM Intelligent Powertrain Management. You can set the MPH it will slow down going up the hill, and how much it will go over the cruise set point going down the hill (ecoast). You can set that independently for slowing and/or speeding. The system does know the terrain and allows it to slow down going uphill because it knows there's a downhill side it can overspeed. You probably can get slightly better fuel mileage it you play with the settings.

Hey y’all. Get the vent shades, they won’t stop the problem completely, but it does make it more manageable. One other thing that will help is putting wax on your windshield, side windows and your mirrors, water sheds a lot quicker, bugs come off easier and you don’t have the rainbow effect that rainX gives you, it will also help your wipers last longer. I usually wax about every two months, and I clean my wiper blades every week, just to get the road film, oil and dirt off of them. I’m currently in a Peterbilt but looking at a newer W900 as my wife will be retiring and she wants to start traveling with me, so the extra room is needed. Enjoyed the video as always, be safe and spoil those babies for me. Dan.

I can tell you from experience with the dd15. When it starts to breakdown it will nickle and dime you to death. Just this year on the one I had. Egr cooler, radiator, water pump, engine oil cooler and oil cooler module, oil separator, oil pick up tube that actually killed the engine all together.

How old? You should get as much warranty or extended warranty as you can. Alot of guys don't get a good warranty and get nickle and dimed. Most shops also tell you NPI warranty is a nightmare. Go with premium or factory.
