Really interesting to see Chase shift around your CL's to make room for the new IHG Premier Biz without needing to speak to their Reconsideration Department/having an upfront denial. Interesting datapoints here- and the strategies you discussed for building up a stronger relationship w/ Chase via other accounts & decreasing existing CL's make sense. Great video Stan!

Thanks Matt! Yeah, I've always been a big fan of high credit limits, but with Chase, I think I need to take a different approach. I need to start building up that relationship so more credit could hopefully be available in the future!

It'll be exciting to see how you use your IHG points when that time comes. Requesting a credit limit decrease is something I've though about doing for a while because some of my personal cards have higher limits, but Chase keeps approving my applications so I haven't had to worry about it yet

That's awesome Jacob! Yeah, I would just keep on applying until you hit the dreaded In Review or Declined situation, and then you'll know that it's time to implement those CL decreases. I've already used those points to book a hotel for my honeymoon - 4th night free!

Congrats on getting this powerful card and appreciate the credit limit discussion! I think I'm close to an aggregate credit limit that Chase might have issues with. Thankfully that shouldn't be a show stopper as you pointed out.

Thanks Monty! Yeah, it could go either way if you wanted to do a CL decrease or not, but if not, it just takes a little more work after the application is put in pending review or declined status. Knowing the game is the most important!

Stan I have 9 active Chase Cards with less total credit than you Around 75k The reduction of current limits works perfectly for someone using other credit card set ups as well

You should go for a credit limit increase on the oldest of the 2 biz cards you already have. As long as you have not requested one in less than 6 months ago, they will probably double it... then you could transfer the new limit as necessary

I think the issue is that CLIs won't work because I've reached my max limit with Chase. At this point, I need to decrease my limits to make room for more cards!

Some valuable info! That’s exactly why I don’t request a CLI for any cards. I’d rather earn SUBs which means I need smaller limits, hopefully I don’t have to request a decrease but we’ll see

Yeah, I used to ask for CLIs with Chase, but now that's backfired a little bit. It can happen to anyone - it's just part of the game, but keeping those limits as small as possible on Chase cards makes it a whole lot easier when it comes to applying for new Chase cards!

Thanks! Yes, it sounds like a great offer - I think it's 5 nights worth up to 60k each (300k total value, if you maximize!). I'm not in the position to get that card right now, but hopefully I'll be able to eventually, probably next year.
