The daughter was supposed to come off as a “strong independent woman” type. Instead she came off as a “selfish idiot that gets people killed” type.

For some reason Shaun of the Dead remains one of the only zombie movies to show the military being competent.

Fun fact: Tig's character was originally played by actor Chris D'elia. His scenes were removed after he was accused of sexual misconduct. That's why Tig's almost entire performance was done solo, as all her scenes were reshoots. What few bits show her with others in the cast was done with CG inserts.

I love how the daughter looks in the poster so confident and proud. When you see a woman like that in a poster movie you could immediately deduced she is a selfish and rude person who always managed to win or survive

This is literally a movie where his daughter is the anti hero. Everything she does causes all of the problems and deaths of the good guys.

It's really brave of Tom Cruise to play a lesbian ace pilot. Shows that he's a well rounded, open-minded individual.

I'm just glad fanboys can't blame the studio for this and that this is purely 100% Zack Snyder

Tig Notaro’s character was originally played by Chris Delia. They shot the entire movie with him in it. When his sexual assault allegation came out, the production distanced themselves and literally edited him out of the movie. Notaro is legit green screened over him in certain scenes.

Someone mentioned that Bautista looks like he’s holding in a sneeze throughout this movie and now I can’t unsee it

And let's not forget how the Alpha Zombies continually do various baddy and super hero comic book poses! I laughed my ass off!

I like that all the mercenaries use different guns and different calibers. In a realistic sort of take, seems like it would be a good idea for them to use similar guns and the same calibers so they can share ammunition, or have a team member as the big dude loaded down with all the excess ammo.

This was the cinematic equivalent of passing a piece of paper around the classroom and each person adds one sentence to continue the story.

Dawn of the dead (2004 remake) is probably my favorite zombie movie Zack Snyder made, I still love it even to this day

the only smart character in the movie is that one dude who 'backs out' the heist

Imagine if they kill the Alpha at the start and all hell breaks loose, because it turns out, he was the only thing keeping the Zombies somewhat in check, like the Lich King in WoW.

What really ticked me off was when the girl with the bandana dies I mean she jumps through that window behind everyone, she's still alive, hasn't been bit yet but she's fighting off the zombies and everyone's just like "eh not worth it" and walks off and then we get this drawn out dramatic scene like tf literally she could've been saved but for the sake of creating a sad emotional loss they killed her in the dumbest way possible.

When he said they needed a safe cracker to get into the vault I thought the twist was going to be that it wasn’t actually Japanese guy’s vault and he just convinced them to steal for him. Seemed obvious to me, but I guess he just forgot his passcode..?

This movie makes the first Resident Evil movie look like a master piece.

Started watching this with a mate one Friday night. After 10 minutes we turned it off and put Tremors on for the 50th time.

Frost, Apone, Gorman, Hicks, Spunkmeyer, Vazquez, Fero, Wierzbaski, Hudson, Crowe and Drake...yet I can't name a single character from this movie.

Lol. While I agree with your sentiments, "I couldn't even tell you their names. Guess which ones are going to die first. Remember Aliens? Remember how each character in that film was unique?" There were 12 Marines that landed on LV-426. Without looking them up, name the Marines. Guess which ones die first.

What also pisses me off about this movie is the “giant saw guy” never uses his goddamn saw

You forgot the most ridicolous detail: The Zombie Queen was pregnant and the Alpha wanted revenge for his little baby zombies death

I swear to god, I GMed this game using Gurps. I set it up to my RP group like this, Casino Heist during a zombie outbreak. I even had zombie tiger from Siegfried and Roy. PLUS a bunch of lions from the MGM.

No sane father would allow his daughter to go to such a place! I would rather have her hate me forever than let her go!

Reply to the daughter: You don't have neither the training nor the experience. You will only put the whole team and the friend you want to rescue in danger. You wanna do something useful? Wait for us here and treat our wounds when we come back.

I was going to give this a go purly on the strength of Dave Bautista being in it, I really do think he's going to deveop into a really good actor. Then I saw Tig Notaro was involved and yea, sod that!

The moment I saw the truck transporting the ultra "zombie" get desintegrated when crashing with a car and the two soldiers not using the perfectly safe humvee to escape, I knew this movie was going to be a total trainwrreck

11:30 Tig "acts" the same way in that star trek show she's in. She's not acting, she's being herself.

I get tired of repeatedly pointing out that 'Watchmen', '300', and even 'Dawn of the Dead' are technically not stories "created by" Snyder. He took existing material that was already great - and in the case of Watchmen and 300 - literally made movies that were frame-for-frame exactly what was in the original graphic novels (panel-per-panel). And with Dawn - every bit of dark humor and wit was from a script by James Gunn. If Snyder had written the script for Dawn - it would have ended up like Army: a non-sensical mess.

That helicopter they escape on, it doesn't look nearly large enough for the whole team, let alone them and huge stacks of cash.

I’m still trying to figure out HOW they walled of an entire city with cargo containers to stop the zombies from spreading.

Zacks a genius when it comes to making things look really cool, but that’s about it. He can’t write a good story on his own, that’s why his best movies (watchmen and 300) either have really simple stories like Spartans fight bad guys the story was written by someone else and he just had to put it to film.

I work in one of the locations that they shot this film at. The dilapidated appearance of those shots are actually 100% how it looks even to this day.

This is the first film I actually had to bail out of after an hour. It was literally making me physically mad how stupid it all was - and it's a zombie action movie... it's not like I went into it expecting the Shawshank Redemption with guns and the undead. The fact there was another HOUR AND A HALF to go when I had to tap out like I was in a fucking UFC choke hold genuinely worries me for whatever Zack might decide to do next.

i couldnt get past the convoy wrecking. when i saw the first zombies were "fast" and a "smart" i pulled the ripcord and got out early. nice to see i didnt miss anything.

My favorite part has to be when King Zombie gets off a skyscraper and rides his horse back home faster than the helicopter can fly there.

*story spoilers* Q1: Does the Coyote have to sacrifice a member of her party *every time* she leads a group into the quarantine zone to get safe passage? If so, how has she not garnered a horrible reputation at camp? "Don't ever go with that woman, there's a 1-in-4 chance she'll kneecap you and hand you over to the zombies." Q2: If Wealthy Japanese Businessman was never concerned about the money and only wanted the head of an Alpha, why did he frame it as a heist? Why didn't he just hire more Entrusted Corporate Henchmen to go in, get the head, and get out? It just seems like attaching a spy onto a self-selected group of military-trained, money-hungry mercenaries who are actively being lied to is the worst way to see your plan work out.

Zack Snyder wrote the Army script in 2005, but the dude really should have rewrote it, cause you can really tell this is a screenplay made 15 years ago.

I felt like I was watching a mash-up of "Ocean's Eleven" and "Resident Evil".

“Unreasonably hot smuggler lady” Yeah, this trope is a tell-tale sign of the type of film you’re about to be confronted with.

I appreciated this movie for the visual effects(cause that's what I do)... Basically the first 10 minutes or so is all you need to watch LOL!

You forgot to mention that scene when that “comedian “ was flying the chopper and Batista begged her to stay on the roof while they go on a pointless rescue mission, and it was a fake out 🤨🤨🤨

Can’t forget the parts where they clearly show multiple zombies to actually be cyborgs / robots yet literally never address it because haha sequel time

I had to walk my drunk girlfriend home, she kept passing out for like every couple minutes. I got her home and she kept throwing up so I had to look after hour. It was 4 in the morning before I got her to sleep, so I sat and watched this film to make sure she didn’t throw up in her sleep; safe to say the worst thing that happened that night was this movie

One of my biggest irritations of the movie was zombie animals. As soon as that happens there's no quarantine that could possibly be effective. As soon as it hits rats and birds then there is no chance of containing the infection in one location, especially when there is a massive camp of people just outside the wall of the zone.

I like how Dillahunt was basically the Burke character from Aliens. Seeing them as weapons to be brought back.

This movie has the exact same premise as Train to Busan 2: Peninsula. I recommend it. Has a fantastic car chase at the end which something you don't expect to see in a zombie movie.

The "they reanimate when it rains" (or get water drop on them) bit was a pretty cool idea. And they could have used that to their advantage but they didn't. I was looking forward to see how that would happen.

You have to give Zakie boy credit. To make a Zombie/Aliens/Heist/Shoot Em-up/Action thriller with some potentially kick ass concepts and STILL fuck it up...."that's soldiering"

I liked Suckerpunch. It lacked in a few areas but the unreal sequences were fabulous to watch.
