While the M61 has a high rate of rate, its take time to reload They should really look at improving reload times The Goalkeeper has the magazine separate from the gun and reload time is only 9 minutes for 1000 rounds The US should really consider adopting the Germany 35mm cannon and AHEAD rounds for C-RAM as well C-UAS There is variety of programmable rounds 30mm on up A 35mm round is large enough to carry a data link which allows the round fuze exactly where the target is vs guessing game

It's not about radar guns, though. South Korea has already finished laser weapon test to take out drones, and they are even more powerful than American laser weapons. Those are approved and scheduled to be deployed soon

ammunition is held in the drum, which is between the two vertical mounts, directly beneath the white turret, so yes underneath

@@jspub3597 I did. After 30 years in DOD work cost overruns are a built in profit point for contracts already signed off on. It’s actually become SOP rather than an unforeseen byproduct of doing defense contracts. Thanks for the “too late” advice though.
