I served as a Radarman and OS on two missile destroyers back between 69/73. One was a Farragut class, and the other was a Leahy class ship. Being in Ops division we were tactically aware of the Soviets capabilities, and I was sorry our ships didn't have any kind of over the horizon anti shipping capabilities even then. I think the Arleigh Burke class ships are absolutly awesome!

Большая помойка эти ваши кастрюли от эсминцев до авианосцев, чем больше корабль -тем больше мишень. А кроме того знать тактико - технические данные что советских так и российских кораблей это ещё не значит получить малейший шанс на победу. this is all good but the biggest weakness is the threat from above, you dont hear much about it but these guns are useless at 90 degrees, they cant go there. if i were an enemy id be dropping from directly above, come in high, drop in and drop your payload then get out of there. fighters are good but there are only a handful of carriers available.

Why don't they build a 360-degree ring around the anchor feed tunnel with high pressure water jets, rather than manpower with fire hoses hoping to clean off the hundreds of feet of anchor chain. I would then have a hose crew for backup sea growth etc., to remove any missed debris, seems like a lot of manpower or now womanpower to conduct something that can be built into the retrieval / drop tunnel.
