Did anyone hear the story of the couple who was on vacation, in a country where abortion was illegal. The pregnancy was wanted. They planned on having their baby and were excited about it. At 16 weeks, her water broke and she was bleeding heavily. The doctors said that there was no way to save the baby. The couple was devastated. The doctors said that the placenta was coming loose from the uterine wall, and if it ruptured completely, she could bleed to death in minutes. Also, since the membrane of the amniotic sac ruptured, she was at serious risk for infection. However, because there was still a fetal heartbeat, there was nothing that they could do to save her. She would have to hope that the baby's heart stopped, in time to save her life. She was airlifted to a place where she could legally receive medical care, and her life was saved. This is what happens when politicians and clergy dictate Healthcare! Women will lose their Iives.

I agree, but the same also applies to the vaccine mandates and we used to say “my body, my choice” but all too willingly replaced this core belief with a one-size-fit’s-all medical treatment and almost never granting people exceptions, no matter the valid reasons. Of course, it’s not the same scenario BUT …, as a VERY pro-vax, absurdly leftist danish person, I can tell you that I choose not to get this specific vaccine because the data quickly told us that these ones don’t work on heavily mutating coronavirus (type which we’ve never made a successful vaccine against). If a newly emerged disease isn’t mitigated by the vaccines we made in record time, and known technology- thought not in this field. They would have to fight me to take a vaccine made in such a short time and with no long-term data.

Germany now also strengthened its abortion rights, by making "advertising" abortions for doctors legal, giving them the possibility to actively inform women on abortion
@solar0wind
@solar0wind 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the advertising ban for abortions was ridiculous. To add some information: It's forbidden anyway to make ads for medical procedures. The only purpose this law had was make abortion opponents able to sue every doctor who had any information about abortions on their websites. Forced birth activists looked for websites like this specifically to sue the doctors. I.e.: You still aren't allowed to advertise abortions, but at least doctors can now inform about them publicly without fearing being sued.

Can we please talk about the OTHER HALF of unwanted pregnancy?!?! Refusal to use condoms. It takes 2 people to make an unwanted baby yet the responsibility to prevent unwanted babies is 100 % on the woman. I know of a lot of men who had illegitimate kids, never supported them, never took part in their lives. Now those middle-aged kids, ironically all women, want to know why their dad's wanted nothing to do with them. It takes 2 PEOPLE TO HAVE AN UNWANTED CHILD. If men were the ones who carried the baby, endured pregnancy and child birth and then took care of it alone this would be a very different conversation. Do you really think any prosecutors or politicians care about your menstrual cycle? If the government wanted more babies it would just covertly put fertility drugs in the water supply. And if wanted less there are drugs for that too. Or if it wanted to reduce the elderly, "entitled" population it would just create and release a virus that specifically targets the elderly. The issue of abortion is not even really about babies at all, it's about maintaining division in the US voting public. Emotionally charged issues are used to increase single issue voter blocs in order to swing public opinion toward one party of idiots or the other. All part of the democratic process, such as it is.

Kiev tried hard but never succeeded to impose that 4) In 2014, when Kiev wanted to cancel all things Russian (culture, language and everything else) Crimeans simply chose to take matters in their own hands and did a referendum to rejoin Russia 5) Up to 2014, Crimeans always considered themselves Russians yet holding the Ukrainian nationality (including military personnel) 6) What happened in 2014, the west call it '' Illegal annexation '' but Crimeans call it “a return to the homeland” 7) Not everything is perfect in Crimea/Russia but like it or not, they surely now live better than during Ukraine time 8) I travelled to Crimea twice before 2014 and twice between 2016 - 2019. Have you? 9) The majority of those in Donbass are also direct descendants of Russian nationals. yet up to Jan 2022, they did not want to leave Ukraine like Crimeans back in 2014, since then what happened to them? They are considered terrorists by the Ukrainian government + bombed ! 10) Visit Crimea, go to Sevastopol... amazing city by the black sea. Summers are better. "if you really are pro-life, you would've had guns banned as SOON as an INNOCENT CHILD'S LIFE was TAKEN BECAUSE OF IT." Let's see if your logic holds up. Knives should also be banned, because criminals have used knives to take lives. Motor vehicles should also be banned, because criminals have used them to run over people and take their lives. No, your logic doesn't hold up. "Guns have more rights than people in specific communities do and that's messed up" Really? In what communities do guns have freedom of speech, or freedom to peaceably assemble? In what communities are guns protected against unreasonable searches and seizures? In what communities do guns enjoy the free exercise of religion, or the right to bear arms? In what communities do guns have a right to due process, or a right against self-incrimination? Following this Supreme Court decision, all Americans even have the right to vote for legislators who are in favor of dismembering unborn children. Guns do not have any of those rights. Would you like to retract your claim that they do? "If you believe that someone should suffer and die just because the way they are born" What are you even talking about here? "Pro-lifers," by definition, are against innocent people dying. Now, some people commit crimes that are so heinous, they forfeit their right to life. About Airlines overbooking: I used to watch that show on A&E called "Airline" (or something like that) and every episode had at at least one or two segments where a passenger or sometimes a whole family of passengers was denied boarding because they overbooked and they wouldn't even try to hide the fact that they do it on purpose as a part of their policy. Then the gate attendant would ask everyone on the flight if someone would give up their seat(s) to go on a later flight for cash compensation (it was always up to $200-they'd start low then keep increasing but said they weren't allowed to exceed 200), and if no one would take it, then whoever was the one without a seat had to just wait for a later flight, without compensation. (Also, some airlines would only offer gift cards or vouchers, not cash) I remember this one episode where this poor Asian American guy was on his way somewhere for work and he kept saying he would be fired if he didn't get there on time because his boss would not accept any excuse, and nobody on the plane would give up their seat (sad but why should they have to?) and the poor guy was on the verge of tears asking how they can sell seats they don't have. The airline employees and customer care manager who were "helping" him were like "we routinely overbook so that we can be sure the planes are full even if we have some no-shows or cancelation. It's part of our policy". And it wasn't just that one airline either. Every one admitted to that throughout that series and it was like they didn't even care if people know they do it on purpose. Then if a customer gets upset about being denied boarding for that reason, they call security on them and treat the customer like they're the ones in the wrong. It's an old reality/docuseries from the '90s and '00s, and A&E has a lot of full episodes on their KZfaq channel for free. I stopped watching it though because it is infuriating watching them do that to paying customers in every single episode and then treating them like they're in the wrong or crazy for being upset about it.

Yeah. I've been super unlucky with that.. I've ended up sleeping at the airport twice because of those shenanigans. If they want to overbook flights, the absolute _least_ they should have to do is buy you the soonest ticket (even if it's on another airline) if they overbooked. If they can't fulfill their end of the bargain, then they shouldn't overbook. So dumb.

u get what you pay for. want a guaranteed seat: pay for business class or at least a refundable economy. The airlines do this to keep planes full and costs low. Otherwise they would fly with empty seats due to people not showing up for various reasons (missed connection, refundable ticket) which makes it more expensive for everyone.

some of those "enlightened" Justices (with clarence leading the mob) already have their eyes set on both the Obergefell and the Brown decisions...allegedly. and they've already, just recently, ruled that the Establishment Clause was unconstitutional (paving the way to some state-sponsored "religion")...while gutting the Voting Act Rights from its modicum of legal protections. so yeah, it's quite easy to see this SCOTUS --in its current shape, coming after the rest of civil liberties.

You should be liable for that too, because how dare you do anything even a tiny bit dangerous while pregnant. Jaywalk and a car hits you? Well, YOU shouldn't have jaywalked while pregnant. You name it...they're waiting to nail women for it. I honestly think half this state is just...sick. And with SCOTUS going after contraceptives next, it will get even uglier before it gets any better.

You can go even further: Can a pregnant women that ate sushi despite her doctors advice and had a miscarriage be prosecuted because there is a chance that the sushi caused or contributed to the miscarriage? How about pregnant women that don't want to give up on sport like jogging? How about pregnant women that keep working a job where they need to lift heavy stuff regularly? How about one that is mentally instable and can't/won't stop hitting herself in the stomach? How about ones that take medicine that is known to potentially cause a miscarriage but the women needs that medicine to function? How about women that are severely overweight or severely underweight because of an eating disorder? Can an anorexic women be convicted if she has a miscarriage that might be caused by her not eating enough? In all those cases, it's nearly always impossible to determine if the miscarriage (spontaneous abortion is the actual medical term for it) is one of the 30% that is caused "naturally", or if the behaviour of the women actually contributed to it. And states with high abortion restrictions are already convicting women for having a miscarriage that might (!!!) have been caused by their drug use. The step to convict women for legal actions that are known to cause miscarriages is very small...

Start googling random questions you'd want to know if you were pregnant/seeking an abortion. Know where your nearest clinic is. Know the laws and penalties upon violation in your state. Know where you can go, including out of country, if you can't access an abortion where you are.
