I live in Osceola County and have spent a lot of time in the Celebration area at restaurants and the annual snow machine Christmas gig. I remember when most of the events occurred that you referenced. Unfortunately with all the retention ponds around Central Florida, the death of the three gentlemen at the bottom of the pond in Celebration is hardly an isolated event. Happens all the time and one of the reasons I keep an impact weapon in my vehicle at all times. Never say never. When you car goes under water, you are not going to be able to break the glass with your bare hands. The water pressure is not going to be your friend and will turn that glass into a brick wall and you will not survive. If your windows are not down when you hit the water, your chance of getting them down is remote. A hammer or impact device in your car might save your life. Not morbid, just wise.

Because of job transfers we’ve had to move quite often and I very early on learned to never judge an area by the outside appearance. I do a lot of research before our initial house hunting trips, I talk to locals and even have stopped at the local police station to talk to the officers who work the area. There have been several times that I’ve been interested in homes that were in lovely areas but later found out that there had been a lot of crimes or there were people who lived in the area that were on certain registries. You can’t always make a decision about a neighborhood by how pretty the homes are or how nice the lawns are kept up.

FYI: I'm a former licensed Florida Real Estate agent (no longer practicing). I can tell you that in Florida, real estate agents are not required and are actually not supposed to disclose any crime or demographic information about the property they are listing or assisting the buyer to purchase. The real estate agent is by law only supposed to disclose factual information about the property itself (MLS data) and nothing about previous owners, tenants or anything about the surrounding properties other than values and MLS data facts. Now there are lots of resources that buyers and sellers have if they want to discover that information for themselves and agents do provides links (usually on their websites) to these subject matter experts.

There are bad occurrences like this that happen in every neighborhood. Before renting or buying do your homework. As a previous renter and homeowner landlords and realtors do not have to voluntarily tell you the dark side of a residence, you must ask them, then by law they have to reveal its secrets. I myself, have asked explicitly every single time.

I grew up in a Mayberry type of small town. At the time there was no police Dept., and the sheriff was the person who investigated any local crimes. We lived next to a church, and one Sunday during services a car was stolen (unlocked), and the thief hit and killed a child running across the street. Driving through there today, you won't believe anything could happen in that town. Now one of the local convenience store/gas stations was robbed and the young girl clerk was shot. It can happen anywhere.

There's a KZfaq channel called Adventures With Purpose. They are a dive team that travels the country searching for missing persons in deep waters using sonar technology. I was thinking of them when you mentioned the gentlemen at the end of the video. I wouldn't be surprised if that's how they were found. I'll never look at a lake or river the same way again, after watching their videos (AWP). For sure it's not the happiest of subjects to watch, but really the best part is when the families and friends get some closure, so they can begin to heal and move on with life. I hope that's what happened for the families of the men in Celebration.
@LadyCatFelineTheSeventh2 жыл бұрын
Adventures with Purpose are frauds. They interfere with ongoing investigations by inventing false allegations and threatening people on their channel who don't want to talk to them. They have multiple lawsuits against them and next time you feel like you need to donate ask them how they are supporting themselves - they use your money because they don't have jobs. Very little goes into their channel.
@stormyhaze262 жыл бұрын
@@LadyCatFelineTheSeventh I've never donated, and I only watch their videos. Not sure where this is coming from or why, but you're entitled to your opinion. People can make their own decisions on when, who or where they want to donate money to. It's up to them to judge whether or not these people are legitimate. From what I've seen they are, and that's my opinion. There's proof enough for me in seeing how they helped people. You want to see otherwise and that's fine, but I don't agree.
