‘The Dancer’, the adaptation of the successful ‘The Greatest Dancer’, aims to find the best dancer of the country. Ion Aramendi and Sandra Cervera present the Television Española dancing competition, in collaboration with Fremantle. The actor and tv host Miguel Ángel Muñoz, the singer and dancer Lola Índigo, and the choreographer and tv host Rafa Méndez will be the captains.
The three of them have developed their artistic careers within the show and dance business. Their mission will be to make three teams of dancers. During the auditions, in each episode, they will see 14 performances of solo dancers, couples, or groups. The candidates will try to show on the stage how much they deserve to be qualified in the competition. It won’t be easy for them, as they have to get at least the 75% out of the votes of the audience at the TV set in order to open the mirror behind which they are performing.
The dance talent show will see dancers of any age and dance style from all around the world. They will join the show to open that mirror, or to get the long-awaited Direct Pass from the captains. In each episode of the auditions, only one captain will be able to give that direct pass to the semifinal. Nevertheless, it won’t be the only chance for them: in each audition, the three captains will choose one contestant to join their team and compete in the Final Decision, the one before the semifinal. Who will get it?
