Disney and Hasbro have teamed up again and released a new style of lightsaber toy, its the Jedi Spring Action lightsaber toy and it's designed to look like Anakin / Luke / Rey's lightsaber. It's electronic and the blade fully collapses into the hilt. This is not part of Hasbro's Bladebuilders line of lightsaber toys though which is an interesting move by Disney and Hasbro.

Ok that’s sick! I remember as a kid it always made me mad that the lightsabers never fully retracted or actually shot out like in the movie. That handle was massive though 😂

I remember being like 8, not knowing anything about stat wars, and bought one of those lightsabers you had to swipe in the air. It was Darth Vader's lightsaber, (cuz red was my favorite) and I thought all the others looked dumb.

When I was 6 years old back in 2005 when Revenge of the Sith released and this toys came in, I wanted it sooo bad, I got it as a gift for my 7th birthday and I was the happiest kid alive, this brings back old memories and nostalgia.

I think it’s Luke’s because He had it in A new hope, The empire strikes back, and in The last Jedi. It is also Luke’s because in The rise of Skywalker Rey tried to throw it away and Luke caught it like who else would catch it.

The light doesn't reach the end of the blades with the Force Action ones because of the mechanism used to launch. It blocks the light from getting to the tip. I'd personally love to see a Force Action that can go both ways, spring out and spring inward.

Badass lightsaber. They're starting to get it down where the blade fully collapses into the hilt so we can wear it on our belt. And pops out with light and sound. Disney store Ezra Bridger is fire not humungous like the old ones

This one is pretty cool but I have the Kylo Ren Force Action and let me tell ya...That thing is my new favorite lightsaber..Because it just feels like I'm about to tear up stuff when I press a button an the main blade and the side blades come out and the thing makes that lightsaber sound...When I first pressed the thing and heard the sound I went "OHHHH YEAAAHHH! THIS BOUT TO GET INTERESTING!"

Hey Dan-O I just found the rarest lightsaber toy. It's the force action lightsaber (spring action) from 2006 just like the Mace Windu one but it's Anakin's hilt with a green blade. Found it on eBay bidding for $29.99 with free shipping.

#sadbabysquad I was excited for this until you unboxed it and I literally yelled out “holy cow that thing is huge!” You would think after a decade since revenge of the sith they’d be able to size down the hilt with lights and sounds while still providing the gimmick. Even if it was a bit more pricey I don’t think I’d mind

Yeah that’s fair, they should find a way to scale the whole thing down a bit. It would make it way more playable for younger kids. I think even my 9 year old Presley may have some issue with how big this is, and he is their target audience right now.

Maybe for next April 1st you could do reviews for the "bootleg lightsabers". You can buy some for cheap or even at a dollar store Though it is easier to go online to buy. They come in many variants and designs from the simple one blade to the maul style lightsabers and even crossguards.

I kinda like that the battery part is on the bottom, at least, but man, I forgot how big those spring-loaded lightsabers were. Still love the idea of an electronic lightsaber with the blade all the way in though. And I really don't like the Bladebuilders. Ruins the realism to have the holes in the pommel. My favorite non-electronic ones are still the old stuff that click all the way in and have belt clips. If they could combine those with the Force Action style, that would be so amazing.
