Disney and Hasbro have teamed up again and released a new style of lightsaber toy, its the Kylo Ren Spring Action lightsaber toy. It's electronic and the blade fully collapses into the hilt. This is not part of Hasbro's Bladebuilders line of lightsaber toys though which is an interesting move by Disney and Hasbro.

The Dan-O Channel Wait, have you done the Disney Store's Kylo Ren lightsaber yet? I have one myself and I think it might be my favorite toy Kylo saber. The sounds from the start up, hum, clash and power down are pretty much entirely different than the blade builders and deluxe and force action ones. Plus the blade lock sounds are awesome.

Mandalorian 2019 It’s not broken, in order to have the cross guards light up there needs to be lights at the cross guard point but because the lightsaber blade goes all the way in there’s no room for lights to power the crossguards

I used to have 2 non electric spring actions. Anakin’s blue and Darth Vader’s red. Idk when or how I lost them. :/ They were far superior to most light sabers I see on the internet today.

I agree. I have one on my belt right now and it's an Obi-Wan(Episode 1/2) lightsaber that fully goes in. I want the good lightsabers back. Mine technically is an electric but it doesn't get sound. The light up system is a bit wonky too.

I recommend the 2006 Hasbro version if you can find a working one. It's spring loaded and has lights with clashing sounds, as well as being pretty sturdy!

Uh, but that's the correct way to hold a sword. You must leave one palm space, and your left hand(or non dominant hand) should be edging at the pommel, while your right hand is just under the crossguard, and don't forget to relax in "hand-shake" position. Without that correct position you'll injure your wrist when winding the blade. Take care man.

The deluxe has LEDs inside the light saber so it gives the effect of it growing. The spring action does not because the could snap

I completely understand why there’s no light on the side vents. Far as I’m concerned if those don’t light up I really couldn’t care less. It sounds awesome, and that is good enough for me. Even the saber forge, and ultra sabers really have a problem with that because the wiring is ridiculously difficult to figure out. And that if you try to use it for combat the side lights will go out anyway.

I don’t mind the non spring ones. They close and open fine for me. You just have to clean them occasionally so they don’t get stuck. i used to hate them cuz my friend has one that is stuck so I thought they were bad until I realized his had been shoved in mud by his little sister and the mud made it get stuck.

My first lightsaber was a broken Obi-Wan force action lightsaber. The spring still worked, but it doesn't light up or make noise, but I loved that I could just push a button to extend it. (I got it at a convention, and ended up cosplaying as Pikachu with a lightsaber from smash bros. Many inappropriate jokes were made while we played CAH.) Then I watched the sequel trilogy and HAD to get more lightsabers. I got Kylo Ren's first and actually ended up ordering from your link since you were the only one to carry it. (I LOVE it btw) I'm currently waiting for Rey's to get here. Now I have Obi-Wan's, Kylo Ren's, Anikin's (older, chunkier model), and Rey's (on the way) spring action lightsabers, a battle academy lightsaber, and the "key phrases" Rey lightsaber. I LOVE THEM ALL. I grew up in the era of the prequel trilogy, but never watched any of the movies until I was 20 or so (because I bought an R2-D2 robot and decided to marathon the movies). I love the sequel trilogy (but you know what you did, JJ Abrams...) and have been hardcore collecting lightsabers since my birthday.

I miss the old lightsaber toys. The ones with the red button, and belt clip. Hasbro updated them in 2010 with slightly thinner/ longer blades and correct activation box places. They only made Obi-Wan's, Anakin's and Vader's. Then they switched to Bladebuilders, and the quality took a hit.

Spring action design comes from 2005 thats when hasbro made the first models i believe obi wan, anakins/lukes/reys ekhm, and vaders. in 2008 they added windu's purple but along the way they've been repackaging them into clone wars versions etc. Now quite rare. chunky hilts are gonna be the only downside.

I just bought that lightsaber, and I was very excited about it, and it is kind of sad that the sides of the sable didn't light. I thought that my sable was broken but is just a bad feature.

My friends gave me a Kylo Ren spring action lightsaber as a my birthday gift. And yes Im a bit disappointed in cross guard part has no light. As I watch your video I think deluxe version is better than spring action version. What I love in spring ver is the detailed design of hilt. And that its all. Blade builder saber for me is better

So which do you find better, the rey and kylo spring action? Or the Rey and kylo blade builders (where the blade fully retracts into the hilt) asking because my girlfriend and I are doing a couples costume and I want the light saber to really set it off.

They should try and make a delayed spring like when the blade extends then the sides extend as soon as the blade finishes extending
