You're not broken, you're not doing it wrong, you're not an idiot, you're just in a process. This is about how self improvement ruined my life before it got better. You need to restructure your foundation and that process begins once you go on a spiritual journey, self improvement, self help journey etc.

I’ve been going deep into personalities theories to understand why i felt the way i felt and the feelings you described was what pushed me to be better “ to individuate” and be a better human while everyone else want to remain the piece of shit they always wanted to remain ( in my view in the past ) nowadays I understand that becoming a better human is a drive for some personalities and for the most that drive is not built in them so they have another goals for life that is different than mine so i made peace with myself eventually and the world and stopped feeling the guilt of not being enough , in socionics there is a temperament in a group called “ Delta “ that group is occupied with what you’ve describing you possibly gonna find yourself in one of the descriptions of either EII or IEE

Maybe not making more money, but being better with your personal finances so that you don't get yourself in trouble is an important part of it. A lot of people have so much stress and problems they literally do to themselves because their finances are out of control.

It's an addiction honestly. In the end I got tired watching all these self improvement videos. I burnt out and stopped. Tired of people telling me what I should be doing. In the end, I did what felt right and whatever I did......if it is not screwing other people over....then I did it.

"You're not broken, you're not doing it wrong, you're not an idiot, you're just in a process." is such an incredible thing to someone who thinks they're inadequate. A lot of people who want to better themselves go into it seeing all these influencers who have already gone through the troubles they had to in order to be the people they are. People forget it's not a sprint, but a marathon spreading over your entire life. You can reach the end and complete the process. Enlightenment. The process is not just eternal struggle, refinement and improvement without end, that would be a type of hell, a kind of ever-becoming rainbow chase, that is the dream state, not the awakened State. There a Divine State reached that is obviously the Truth, Total Love-Bliss Fulfillment, the Heart is Complete, Satisfaction is Infinite and Known, without doubt, desire is no more, the search is no more, the feeling of separation from All that Is, is no more, the feeling of need is no more, fear of death, dilemma and confusion are no more. Pure Beingness Is Known. The eventual death of the body is merely a Witnessed formality, a process In Consciousness.

“Suffering is wishing things were other than they are.” The Buddha did (supposedly) say this. Though frankly I have doubts that he said many or any of the quotes attributed to him in their exact form. Having said that, I feel like your quote falls in line with Buddhist thought. Blaming outside circumstances will lead to suffering. But so will any kind of blaming, including blaming oneself. Acceptance is the key.

There were pockets of people(including myself) who were on this stuff back then. The difference is that in 2020 people had no choice, but to stop and pay attention to the world around them. Most people were living in autopilot mode with their jobs, and life. The events in 2020 just forced people out of that state. Once they were out of that state they were finally open to seeing information from a different perspective.

I trust the inner strength and power in you. and take the job opportunities appear in your life without judgement. I‘m sure it will lead you to your prosperity and happiness. @@Queenbg1I’m in a similar situation. I’ve had so many existential crises I’ve lost count! I’ve been in a relationship with my partner and father of my child for 14.5 years now! But there is so much about him that clashes with my personality, especially now that I’m trying to live a healthy life, stopped drinking, stopped doing recreational partying, working out and meditating daily. It’s who I am now. Meanwhile he is still the same person he was when we met. Still gaming with his friends most of his free time like he’s still 18 years old. Drinking every night. But we live together and we have been finding ways to make it work thus far which I feel extremely grateful about! There is just a part of me that is so unfulfilled romantically and sexually. I’m not a good liar and I have too guilty of a conscience to cheat. I just don’t know if I should take steps to completely uproot my whole life (and my son’s) to embark on a life I feel is more aligned with my truth, or continue with peace, stability, predictability, but pretty much dead in the passion department. I’m 43, I’m not deluding myself into thinking I’m still young. Changing would be the biggest gamble I could take. If it didn’t work out I could end up more alone than ever, a single mom, probably have to move back home with parents, all of which would send me back to a dark place. Anyone have any advice or words of wisdom for me? ❤

I like your video. I became an over achiever, because I wanted to see how far I could go in life. Only by choice. Afterwards I noticed that I was still disrespected by others. It doesn't matter where you are in life people will never treat you the way you wish. I'm still holding on to what I feel inside. I still think differently. Every time I watch the news, or a video here it opens my eyes to other realities. There is no way around things. I'm very careful about what comes into my mind, and how I think. I stopped caring about fitting in anywhere since I was a little kid. I began to think for myself. Not what I was told by anyone.

Don't cast away childhood friends so easily because you cannot ever replace those shared experiences of growing up together. Great video - all 'normal' lads who have travelled extensively and then returned 'home' experience this. You neither fit in completely where you migrated TO, nor where you migrated FROM. The experience changed you and set you on a new path, they used to call it broadening the mind. In fact, if you travel enough you will lose your sense of 'home', which personally I am not sure is a good thing. The cost of travelling is that those who stayed behind bonded further and you missed out on that. Rather than move back 'home' , maybe it's actually easier to move to another new place nearby the old 'home' and settle there (maybe a neighbouring country that you have extended family), it's very hard to return to the old country after spending significant time in a new place. I'm more than two decades into my travels. Enjoy ....
@otoyoto7153
@otoyoto7153 Жыл бұрын
Yeah I strongly disagreed with that part. If you have people you're tight with since childhood it's a bad, bad idea. You might be part of that 1% most charismatic people who can become close friends with new people you meet on "your journey" that you decided started at like 27 but let's be real, most people watching this video aren't that guy and should be immensely grateful for even having one or two fiends that they share any real loyalty with, because that' just not gonna fall into your lap on your travels. Those people this guy met on his travels would not stick their neck out for him, they have zero loyalty at all I can guarantee that.
@paulbrown5839
@paulbrown5839 Жыл бұрын
@@otoyoto7153 You are spot on. As you get older its harder because most people of a similar age don't have the time to put into the friendship. Close friendships are made before you turn 25 mainly. That's why if you are going to emigrate you are better off doing it when you are young. I know people who emigrated in their mid-late 30s and they found it very hard to make new friends and they left behind good long term friendships - this is hard to get over and if you put down roots with a local partner in the new place, now you are locking yourself into your new lonely setup. People like this never really settle, they live in a sort of pain in paradise. Personally, I don't mind spending a lot of time alone - i'm a loner - but if you need a tight circle, don't emigrate when you are no longer young - unless you are unusually charismatic (or good looking), as you said.

Many people travel away from their home country because of money/work/politic problems. And spending time in the new country you know you may not be welcomed, but you still have to work... When enough time passes you still an outlier because of any accent related speech, but home you too are viewed weird, because you had started to adapt the new countries' custom on your life and NOW here you are seen weird too. I didn’t realize how much I needed to hear this 🙏🏻 I’ve been on this journey for 8 years now. I experienced being ostracized by my friendship group early on, it hurt because I still care for them. However another friendship group that stuck with me were my school friends, I returned from 2 years away and they were there to welcome me home. They were my only friends in my home town for quite a while, so I put up with being the “weird” one in the group, the odd one out, the eccentric one and started to notice over time that they were bullying me for my differences. It took 8 years, but I have finally cut ties, given up the idea that they might join me in my growth, let them be them, and let myself walk free from their restraints. I made space for new friends more aligned to me, and low and behold they are showing up 💫 trust the process.

What kind of ‘journey‘ are you talking about? What were you looking for or was it the journey itself you wanted to celebrate? What is the outcome / the fruits of that journey? Did it lead to finding a suitable partner? What do you feel are ‘restrains’ from people around you? I just ask because it all sounded a bit ‘foggy‘… couldn’t think of a better word! ;-)

@ReformedWhiteKnight
@ReformedWhiteKnight Жыл бұрын
@@Nuggiez-cz3eh but what is that truth you are talking about and why does it seem important to you? And what is the goal, what would be the ideal self improved person? What would they look like and what would they do in your opinion, and why wouldn’t you do this now if you have an idea of such a ‘transcendent ideal’? On that thought wouldn’t Jesus Christ have impersonated such an ideal person? I know people cringe when they hear that because the TV and movies and media have told us that he wasn’t that great and that we are all basically pretty much perfect, we only need to embrace and love our selfs and imperfections! Without the need to really improve anything. So we have now a better understanding about what constitutes an ideal we should be striving for … I personally don’t think problems are meant to be opportunities and who would create those opportunities for us anyway? They might much more be on obstacle, a pain, a challenge, a suffering, a sacrifice we have to make in order to become a wiser person. There seem to be no growth, no achievement in life without such a sacrifice. Some people though try to use shortcuts like praying to crystals or simply trying to manifest things without making any sacrifice in the real world or even wanting to compromise with any of their lifestyle choices… 🤷🏻‍♂️ By why exactly would any of that matter? Why even spend time and effort on such a self improvement program if there is nothing else for us than to live a finite live on a little ball racing through endless space (alledgedly) and non of what we do would ever have any further consequences anyway ….

When I started meditating every day , put some addictions into remission, lost a lot of weight and entered a life of solitude as an artist, writer and psychic advisor, I knew a lot of my family would not understand because my goals and values changed drastically, but I love this process and believe in myself. I am a very social person but I find lots of people all over the world - including my wonderful clients and fellow artists - who celebrate each others’ passions and ever-changing creativity, peace and happiness daily. I feel so fortunate not to have stayed in the “model” expected of me. Every day is precious in a way it wasn’t before as the same-old-same-old. I needed to find a way to make every day a miracle -not “perfect” - but amazing, come what may!Thanks for this lovely video about your new life. It inspires me to keep being “new.”

Very encouraging to hear this message! I've been feeling lots of stirring and kind of that dead and feeling for about 8 months now in my current hometown of Vancouver, Washington. Ever since my son moved out to pursue his music career.... I've been in my hometown for 18 years and kept trying to make things work. Realize I just need to be grateful for what I have but the stirring & the feeling of discontentment and something greater than me calling me out would not go away... So me and my dog took a road trip to follow the sun and see what's out there and we ended up making connections and finding an amazing community on on 500 acres in the sunshine where I'm going to be teaching yoga and massage. It's a complete upgrade from my current life. It feels like home and while I'm in transition still, I'm way more excited to be here where the energy is moving and growing and evolving. And I'm with like-minded people than back home where things are comfortable but I'm in stuck energy....... I feel like I just jumped timelines and I'm on a whole other planet and I'm loving it 🫶☀️🐍🤙🙏✌️

I wouldn't change a thing because I understand why i experienced everything i did prior to this moment as i realised every experience in life is simply that an experience to learn and grow from to find what i actually enjoy and want more of and the opposite. Especially learning how to honestly communicate by speaking my mind, saying what i mean and meaning what i say, also holding myself accountable and that the only constant in life is change 🙏💖

Genuinely love this. Currently watched this at 4 in the morning as I randomly woke up and decided to scroll through my YT feed. I’m in the phase of my life where I haven’t really found my tribe and sometimes I ask myself if I’m the one that’s wrong. Eventually leading to social anxiety and the lack of communication. The people I’m around isn’t into any of that so I’m constantly quiet and protecting my energy/mind from reverting back to living that “comfortable” life, which btw I love that for people, it’s just not for me. It’s reassuring to see you were in the phase, and you embraced the suck to get you past that plateau.

A very positive message on the whole, I definitely relate to what you are saying. Something that helps me is journaling every day and meditation. I know meditation is often an intimidating term, but for me it means sitting with an open journal in front of me, and a pen, some nice background music, and just allowing thoughts to come and go without distraction. Meditation is basically just not filling your mind or “doing” stuff. It works. Even if 5 minutes a day. Your mind becomes clearer and the path forward on your spiritual journey feels like less of an uphill struggle. Best of luck everyone ❤

I play video games since 1993 and I am happy. Lots of people can't understand it, thinking I may have problems I am escaping from or no social life etc. They can't process that someone can be a gamer for life and lead good, content life, have good friends and optimistic mind. Don't just do things because someone tells you it's good for you, consider your choices carefully and if you are happy and fulfilled right now, you probably don't need to improve anything.

I found on my journey that I had to let go of those people I grew up around. They (and I) became different people that couldn’t relate anymore. I thought communal setting were the answer, but they weren’t. The people in these communal settings were also lost. They were transients in their own life, looking to experience as much as possible, wanting to talk to as many people as possible and when they had their fill, to move on. These people didn’t truly connect with each other, there was no intimacy, no commitment to one another. So, after looking into myself, finding what brought me joy and learning what I truly valued I found a solid path. I found what I really needed was family, a solid committed family and permanent home (I’ve moved a lot). I found I didn’t need novel experiences, constant travel, a “hit” of excitement. Those people that connect on a superficial level, unable to make genuine commitments to other human beings, are not for me. A life without nature, not for me. A life building wealth, not for me. A life building wealth for someone else, not for me. If you’re searching for answers just remember, you aren’t irreparably broken. You’re one of the people fixing themselves.

A lot of what you said boils down to genetically predetermined personality traits and values which also applies to the people that are high in openness and extraversion. I don't know what you've experienced but generalizing over such a basic human trait, saying they have no intimacy or commitment just because of your own experiences with them, seems pretty shallow/superficial iself.

This rang a bell for me. In my case I didn't have time for retrospective thoughts, I had a family, a job, studies and the gym. Very little social life. Too busy. As time went on I read continually. Burn out came alongside an actual burn on my arm from an iron which went septic. I have the scar to remind me. Two years of studying counselling added to the situation because it opened up stuff that should have stayed hidden. Now I live with anxiety every day. I consider showering and getting dressed a big achievement. I still read. I realise that the people writing the books don't have the answer either. I am on a continuous learning path and it's always the journey that is important, like a game of snakes and ladders. I have more to add but I won't bore you

Please Repeat this affirmation: There's no suffering to observe, there's no downfall to observe. Do it 15 min a day and please let me know in a week how you felt. You can also listen to reiki for anxiety by blended insight and Sapien medicine anxiety, trauma files. But I would suggest to just try the affirmation for a few days and see.

Thank you so much, awesome video. I can’t believe so many people go through these same conflicts, situations, emotions, thoughts. It gives you hope and makes you feel not alone. It’s incredible how this speaks to so many of us!

This is a wonderful video! I've been on a journey for some 18 years and spent maybe the last five in that depressive slump. I have only just started to let go of old 'friends' and go meet people who are in my tribe. You're right... it _hurts_ when you realise you're not on the same page any more. "You have to sever ties... you don't have to be a dick about it, but you have to do it." The truth! You put this so eloquently... thank-you for posting.

I feel you. Yes. There’s so many wrongs with some self-improvement teachings that takes advantage of people’s vulnerabilities. It sucks. The good news is… Life is… It’s a journey of remembering who we truly are beyond all our conditioning. Trust the process. I’m happy and grateful that my “breakdown” is actually a breakthrough now. Dying to my old self/ego is the best experience ever. Blessings everyone.❤

One of traps when ''selfe-improvement'' is : Not building yourselfe, but your ego that isn't you. - So when ''letting people go'' think about it, is this feeding your eggo, or is it because you raised your vibration - don't fall in trap ''I need to love myselfe'' - people forget to love others saying that sentence today..

It reminds me of the Zen parable. When you begin, you chop wood, collect water, eat food. You start the journey, you chop wood, you collect water, eat food. You realise your awakening, you chop wood, collect water, eat food. We are all awake. Self help is a tool but eventually. Tools themselves can be discarded when we no longer need them.

This happened to me recently also. Helps let go of a lot of trauma and lets the old parts of you die which no longer resonates with your true self. Thank you for sharing your journey

Thank you . This was so very grounding for me to hear. Been healing lots of old patterns, and fear that are holding me back from my highest good. I am ready to launch 🚀 through the plateau 😅

Being brutally honest: You don’t sound like you’ve actually “grown” from the discipline you’ve instilled in yourself. Because you still have unconscious desires to “party”, and do other self-harmful things that come at the direct detriment of your full potential.
Loneliness.
