Love how Jack reaches through the bars to caress Alison's face to calm her at 4:22. Shows how love and kindness can overcome adversity. This is so dark, haunting and beautiful.

My first time ever listening to the dead weather and it was while I was there working the music video and doing my acting parts in it. I miss this day and everyone. I got to meet jack white like I always wanted too and right after I finished filming he and his agent/manager asked me to to other work for them music video wise and photo shoot wise. Such a great guy to work with. I will always play as the freak for him. 2:12

I love how intense of a full on art project this band is. I feel like Jack connects the mythic aura of a band with the music well, there was a time where I would've immediately seen this as fake. Yet everything serves the music; beautifully, this band's just so horrifically captivating.

Alison is like that adorable dancing Baby Groot, and her captivity on this train makes me sad in an existential way. Actually, now that I'm thinking of it, this feels like the sort of Nyquil-induced fever-dream you have when you're sick and fall asleep playing random movies for background noise. Jack is Kamaji from Spirited Away, Alison is Sad Baby Groot, the dude with only a mouth is the most frightening embodiment of Annoying Orange one could ever imagine... I'm not sure what LJ and Dean would be, but I feel like if Dean could just catch the chicken, that everything would be alright again and we could wake up, the only memory of the dream being the occasional mild twinge of existential anxiety...

To all those people out there who are saying they have gone soft, every band and artist has a right to embrace the more intimate, slow, soft aspect of music. I say this coming from being a vocalist of a band and being heavy all the time makes your music sound the same. What i love about the dead weather is they always manage to incorporate their unique sound even when they experiment with different sounds. This was the only song off this album that would be considered soft, in fact this could be the only song off of any of their albums that would be considered soft. so give them a fucking break. it's one song. it doesn't make them no good anymore.. they still are fantastic writers and musicians.

The likes to dislike ratio at a 3:1 ratio seems way off. It's one of the best Dead Weather songs I can recall and although the video is odd, nothing I see worth hitting the dislike over. Any particular reason why this one is getting more dislikes over their other videos?

+littleslean Not totally sure, but I think that a ballad like this just seems a little out-of-place right at the end of the album. I think that because almost all of their stuff is heavy or hard-hitting people are thrown off by it cause it's not what they were expecting. Just my opinion though! But I mean, even given that, the vocals are awesome and I like this one a lot.

I got the CD the day it was released. First time hearing this I was thinking David Bowie, Ziggy Stardust specifically 'Rock and Roll Suicide.' At first it seemed an odd departure from the rest of the album, and the rest of The Dead Weather's material. With each time hearing it, I love it more, and a very nice reminder of the passing of our Mr Bowie. #ReposeEnPaixDavidBowie. Thank You

This is SOO Good! ohmygoodness, so many possibilities. . .first thoughts are: all these people are trapped. the guy who keeps reaching for the chicken is doing so because that is the only living thing he can feel any kind of connection with. .he is alone and desperate for some kind of companionship with a living being. the girl is buried and trapped as well and cannot see herself, and/or her situation clearly, which is why when she looks into the mirror, she does not see her reflection. she is seeing the situation from a backwards perspective--maybe that's the implication. Jack White is running the whole show from his solitary position. . writing the songs, making phone calls, controlling the lights, etc. . .he reaches out to touch the girl and give her encouragement. but it is all very murky and unclear. there's also the married couple dragging each other along, the young girl with her sewn on smile . . .they are all people/personalities/part of the show. .all the while, the screaming heads--who are evidently the key holders, are giving everyone a real hard time.

That's a pretty good interpretation but if you listen to the words carefully the video is the distraction - it's all about Jack!!! How he lives his life-or at least lately.. It's a bit sad and how it makes me feel - that's all I'm gonna say. X
