Fasting is also powerful for manifesting. Fasting is one of several "existential manifesting techniques". Gasping for air, starving for food, procreation and fight or flight are others. The universe is always there to help you survive when you need help the most. But you can request the type of help it supplies. As crazy and bizarre as it seems, holding your breath until you get what you want really does have the potential to manifest your intention. Fasting with an unwavering visualization of a desired state can as well, for instance if you have a health problem and are fasting, the intensity and urgency of your starvation might stir the universe to find a way for you to get food and survive. However, if instead while you are hungry as heck you visualize being 100% healthy while you are feeling intense need for food the universe instead gifts you good health to ensure your survival.

I’m so happy to hear her say that women aren’t meant to handle the stress that men can because it’s true! But if we suggest it, some people look at us like we are crazy. The fact is, men and women are made differently. It’s just nature.

My uncle has been fasting for one day a week for over 30 years, he only drinks water and on regular days doesn't mix meat with carbs. He also does oil pulling, and drinks aloe vera mixture he prepares with garlic and lemon. He is 83 and is so healthy, moves furniture, climbs ladders, and stairs, is looking after his tenants, drives to mountains, contribute to charities. He has been my inspiration for many years.

This is so true. I went back to my mother's remote village in Papua New Guinea. Every morning, food wasn't just there. They wouldn't even eat fruits readily available first thing in the morning. Instead the activity was fishing- be it on a canoe or from a large bamboo surf rod. It took time. So from a natural wake up at about 5.15am - 10-20 mins to sunrise - we wouldnt eat until about 9am. You eat if you want to eat, and eat until satiated. Then rest or do things in the village, until we need to fish again or go to the gardens which weren't in the village. Even for water you'd have to walk to retrieve it from an underground cave. After 4 days of my 14 day trip, my body had adjusted, no pain, no brain fog. It was incredible.

I'm also 45, been fasting 16-24 hours for 8 years now. I'm never sick and I look younger than everybody my age. IF won't do much to cure depression in my experience, but it has an amazing effect on healing your body. If you can do 24 hour fasting that's great. But don't forget the electrolytes. If you get cramps take pinch of sea salt and chug some water. To cure depression I suggest micro dosing on magic mushrooms. A week or two and the depression is gone. Plus it promotes brain plasticity so you will get smarter as well. It actually works, without any side effects. What the doctor gives you don't work or is close to placebo and it has horrible side effects. I've tried them all. Do these two things and you will feel like 20 again. It would be interesting to hear about your results, keep me updated. If you have any questions I'll be happy to answer them. Good luck stranger! :) EDIT: I almost forgot, if you're not already doing it, you need to take vitamin D3 (5000 IU), Omega3, amino acids and a high quality multi vitamin every day. And I suggest switching to sea salt instead of regular rock salt to get all the minerals you need. Now you are all set!

Hi, I just wanted to say that you can get back to that woman you use to be just like I can. Most of the pain in the body is caused by lack of exercise even walking 10,000 steps can help a lot. Unless, you are talking about being in a relationship, you can go out and meet people if you join a gym, class for something that interest you and more. Drink natural juices, take your vitamins, talk long walks Im sure you have things you would love to do, you can also volunteer. Pray 🙏🏾 and ask God to help you out of that rut I know you can do it. God bless you and give you the strength to shake it off and get back to the joy and peace you deserve❤

I’m 57, going through menopause, morbidly obese going through a lot of stress in my personal life and fasting is saving my life!! I have been doing a 36-40 hour test a week and it has really bolstered my confidence that I can do hard things. I’ve been doing IF for the past 6 weeks or so and have lost about 15 lbs, have seen some positive changes in my skin, my sleep, and my whole relationship with food. A surprising side effect during the 36-40 hour fast is that when I go to bed slightly uncomfortable from not eating for so long, slightly hungry, it has made me more aware of what it feels like for those people who go to sleep hungry because they have no food. It’s made me aware and I’m motivated to help those in need. That’s not something I was expecting. It’s humbling to realize that most of us don’t have any idea what real hunger feels like.

I am so ashamed to write this, but as a 30 year old woman from Eastern European country this is the first time I was able to hear and fully learn about women's menstrual cycle. Especially menopause. Even though 70% of my family is all women we never talked about it, believe it or not - my mom never told me about a period. Learned from the internet. So glad that nowadays all this information is so accessible and we are tearing down all the "shame" (of what?). Love this podcast and this episode so much! Hi Anna Maria my name is Agnes Teresa Maria nad my daughters name Anna that's why it took my attention to read your message. I am also from Eastern Europe. I ah e learned about my period in the most horrific way when I was a teen, got up at night to pee and screamed bloody murder in the middle of night , I thought I'm dying that's it's end of me. My Grandparents , my aunt with baby and uncle , my Mom bursted into the bathroom and all started to laugh. I was told I am a woman now. That's how my womanhood issues started, shame. I educated my children the minute their puberty started about period and not to mention I project my menstruation fear on them. It was not celebrating being a woman it was a curse. My whole life to the point my uterus was removed. That's how your mind works!!!! My children already knew about menstruation, sex from internet and school. There is a lock of proper education I think and too much tabu and politics and we women suffer! Men- o- pause ? I had no idea what it is until I and my baby and my body went into menopause at age 33!!!! I am 51 and still going!! Because there is pre, menopause, and post. Fasting, vegan diet, hydration, yoga helped me so much with symptoms. The sooner you start changing your diet and cutting crap food, coke, Pepsi, chips , and stresssssssssssss eliminate as much as you could. And I eat when I'm hungry , sometimes I don't eat at all. And I'm ok. And do I over eat? I can't.

Today is 5.24.24. I have no idea HOW I came upon this podcast but I am SO GLAD THAT I DID. I started to cry when she began to talk about menopause and women being unable to hold onto information like we used to. I have said this in my life to my husband, my siblings, my mentor at work and my boss. I mostly get the side eye or the empathetic nod like they are TRYING to understand but just don’t. To have this confirmed as an actual symptom of a loss of estrogen brings me such relief. Now I KNOW that I’m not crazy and I’m not making this stuff up. And what she said about the ability to handle stress now is definitely on point. I’m in my mind 50’s and have been in menopause for a full year…takes at least 3yrs of no cycle before they consider you in full menopause. It has been one HECK of a ride. Subscribed

After one year of following Minty’s advice, I am noticing massive changes in my cycle My period always stopped me and now I actually get energy with it But the week before I really do pamper myself with feasting and relaxing . I was always really good at fasting. It was the feasting I needed to learn about. I always dreaded my mood swings of the week before. Suicidal thoughts preceded my period, but now I really look forward to that week. I love having so much more control in my life. The biggest thing I learned from Mindy - the importance of self-care progesterone week.

Answer to the question of what is BPA: BPA is called a plasticizer. Plastics are like congealed cooked spaghetti, the long strands that make up plastic get entangled in each other. This is an issue when we want to turn the plastic into a usable product like a bottle. In order for those entangled strands to turn into a plastic bottle, they need to be able to slide past each other. Imagine you've cooked spaghetti and you put olive oil on it, this allows the strands to move past each other. A plasticizer is like the olive oil. The plasticizer lubricates the strands and allows the plastic to be processed into a usable form. Part of the reason the BPA comes out of the plastic is because it's not actually attached to the plastic molecules. Instead it is a mixture and the smaller BPA molecule can leach out of the plastic. As a chemist, I would suggest a very high quality water filter such as clearly filtered which has data on its website showing the percentage of chemicals that the filter is able to remove.

My 65-year-old mom started intermitting fasting last year and lost 20kg in the first 12 months. Before that, she was overweight for years (decades). She is looking and feeling younger than she was 5 years ago. But the most important thing of all the benefits she's seen is probably self-confidence because she proved to herself that she can do something so significant. I'm so Proud of her. Hopefully, her story can inspire others to try it out and see if it works for them. It's fascinating to see her grow older in age, but getting younger with her physique.

It's fascinating how fasting has been a practice in Islam for over a millennium, with Muslims observing it on Mondays, Thursdays, during Ramadan, and on the 13th, 14th, and 15th days of lunar months as well on other occasions 16 hours and more depending on different locations and time zones. Exploring the similarities between modern studies and Islamic teachings on fasting is indeed intriguing. I wish you delve deeper into the topic to highlight the significance of fasting in Islam.

Such an important talk about cycles! I wish as a society we would talk about this more. Several years ago I figured out that every time I wanted to leave my partner it was day 18 of my cycle, and any time I had suicidal thoughts it was 20 or 21. Seeing this patern changed everything. Now when things look bleak I just wait a few days, hang in there for a few more days and it passes.

OMG. I will be making an appointment soon with a doctor, since I don't have one . This made me start balling. I remember in grade 4 a teacher took me out of the classroom, put earphones on me plus put me in a quiet room to read a book. After I was done she asked me what the story was about and I actually knew. It was just for that one day but I now know I needed this everyday. I have thrown books across the room, not because I didn't want to read the book but I would go through a chapter, close it and realize I didn't remember anything I had read. Not even the characters names. Yes I have hated my brain for not remembering a thing and have hated myself forever. I have suicidal thoughts but sure I would never act on it. My daughter is the same and I'm sure my grandson also. He has just turned 5 and can play video games better than most adults I'm sure. At least it blows my mind! Then you talk to him while hanging out and he looks at you then will walk away without answering. My daughter has been on medications for anxiety and depression which her doctor put her on as an adult. I didn't understand why since I gave her all my love and attention and everything she needed in life ,so I thought. Only didn't give her the one thing she was really missing, in my opinion after watching this is to see a specialist about maybe having ADHD! I will be passing this video on to her and perhaps we can live better lives, 🤞. Thank you Mel Robbins and team for bringing this to my attention. I'm still crying but hope to make them happy tears. Love you all❤

I love this information in this video. I am a diabetic. Last week I set my mind to start eating more healthy. Also, today was my first day of a 17 hour fast. I felt great. I even went to the gum during this fasted state. Felt great afterwards as well. I am interested in doing a 36 hour fast to start testing the fat burning switch that was mentioned in the video because I'm currently obese. I'm just afraid my blood sugar levels will be too low. I've experienced it getting low after not eating for a while and it's not cool. I felt dizzy and felt like I was going to pass out. However, today I went a full 17 and felt ok but I think by me working out might have kept my blood sugar level at a healthy low state but still since I hadn't eaten I was still fasting. I do have a glucose monitor that I will use so I can constantly see my numbers. These studies are fascinating and I am motivated to start living and doing better.

Bless Dr Mindy. I've followed her for years and because of her I prevented a spinal fusion. I do a 72-hr water fast about twice a year. 1st time I was due for a 3rd low back surgery (fusion) and at the 72 hour mark of my water fast the skeletal/muscular stem cells produced to such a degree that the stabbing pain due to my herniation at L5-S1 that I had for over 10 years was 100% gone. No surgery. No injections. Just extended water fasting with sufficient electrolytes (super important). That was a little over 3 years ago. Pain still gone and I just came off 7th 72 hr water fast last week. I'm just shy of 60-years-old.

Great info! I've been working on reducing severe blood clotting issues. I knew the problem and its solution was internal when I first noticed my leg swelling and immediately learned of 3 enzymes and diet changes, so started that asap. It's been 7 months my way vs GP & Vasc Drs & $$$ pills that did nothing good. I still have a slightly swollen ankle, still working on it, but no leg distress. I could improve more, I do like some alcohol, I'm a munch, need to walk the dogs more - no 64yr old Angel here. Now I've watched this - I'd be gobsmacked if a 72 hr fast would reset it all. This Dr Mindy certainly clarified why & how fasting works, couldn't get more 'root cause' than a base cellular 'reset'. HMMMM No clotting, less achy pains, energy, clarity ..... You do this twice a year??? I could do that! Great idea, Thank you!

This lady is absolutely spot on. I suffered sepsis last year and it took me a long time to recover physically and for many months I still felt weak and shakey. I was very overweight (110kg) and had been for most of my adult life. Back in November I read a brief article on intermittent fasting and thought sod it, give it a go! I'm now 87 kg so still have a way to go but feel so much better in myself. I have breakfast and lunch no later than 1pm and then nothing but water after that. The only thing I've cut out of my diet is processed foods, I make my own bread and biscuits. I eat cheese, real butter red meat and pretty much everything else as long as it's home made. I can now exercise which I wasn't able to face before. Anyone reading this who's having doubts, just give yourself a month and stick to it strictly. If it works out for you and you start seeing the weight go down it becomes a lot less difficult, you'll find yourself doing it gladly. You'll soon realise that what you thought was hunger is actually just cravings but you'll feel so proud in yourself with each day that you stuck to it :)

I started perimenopause at 43 and now at 54 still going through symptoms. Use black cohosh for hot flashes. I am on carnivore diet and I do intermittent fasting and I have noticed hot flashes are less frequent. Frankly, menopause royally sucks and the belly bloat and brain fog are maddening. @@xylay3540my situation is a little different I was dropped into instant menopause at 40 after a total hysterectomy to remove endometriosis. Once in my 5 year journey I went off the meds for a week. It was then I absolutely marveled that any woman could/ would go thru this without HRT 🤯 I was always going to take hrt as being in full blown MP at just 40 is very undesirable. I know it may sound lame but I was tremendously concerned with accelerated aging. Not just on my face but in my body, brain fog, aching joints, weight gain… I have certainly experienced these but not on the level of my 2 friends who cannot take HRT bc their endo was unable to be completely removed. My point of writing this is to say please do not needlessly suffer. Research & advances have been made since our mothers took hrt. Should you find yourself losing your hair, sex drive, dry skin, night sweats, excessive anger & mood swings to name a few- give hrt a try for a couple of months. Now. Start while the idea is fresh in your mind. Take PTO a week, I personally drive to city far from my own. Don't touch social media. And just start drinking water. Go as long as your body can handle. I fasted 4 days, I had no energy, I just drank water and slept. At one point my body started puking out all the water I drank but get this, it WAS NOT CLEAR. On day 4 my body was getting rid of toxins in the only way it could. In addition, sweat! I would turn the shower on super hot, let the bathroom transform into a sauna and let the toxins come out through your skin(in a hotel, i would not do this in my own home). When you reach the point where you KNOW you can't keep going, ease the food back in. Just like she said, introduce healthy small portions of food. Then just don't stop this new habit and intermediate fast daily. Do these long fasts when you either find yourself turning to back to the bad habits. I'm not a doctor so this is just my experience but it works for me!

There are several parts of this that brought me to tears. My mother passed away from an accidental overdose at 48 years old. Two years prior she had a some sort of switch and she completely changed from the person I knew my whole life. The explanation of women during menopause has given me a new level of understanding to what may have been going on for her in the last few years of her life. I’ve also struggled with my weight my entire life. I feel very defeated with my appearance most days and it prevents me from having any motivation to keep going when it comes to health. Knowing that my body isn’t working against me but rather working for me to survive and place fat outside rather than internally has just shifted the way I think of my body and myself. Thank you so much for spreading this information. I truly feel like I will walk away with lifestyle changes after this video.

45:00 I had a garden injury during Covid and struggled to get an appointment. It affected my groin area and also found I was limping from time-to-time when my leg would give out from under me. I thought perhaps it was a hairline fracture. The pain came on when I was double-digging and hit a huge rock with my spade. The pain lasted weeks. I tried everything in my holistic toolbox and the pain continued. Armed with the knowledge of cell repair I then decided to do a water fast, and after that, the pain was gone, never to return again. Did you know that when you fall ill and find that you're not feeling hungry, it's actually your body's clever way of starting to mend itself? Here's how it works in simple terms. Normally, your body uses a lot of energy to digest food. When you're sick, your body decides to use that energy for healing instead of digestion. So, it reduces your appetite to shift the focus. If you have an infection, eating less can sometimes help your body fight it off better. Certain germs thrive on the sugar and iron in our food, so by eating less, you're cutting off their supply. Think of it like closing a busy road to fix it properly. When you're not eating much, your body gets a chance to repair itself without the extra work of digesting food as your body refocuses' its energy for repair. What a wonderful healing machine we have!

Indeed, and everyone around me always kept pushing, you have to eat to gain strength. And always it would come out the same way as it came in. Sadly I can also not hold water down when sick. Day 2 and 3 are the worst, after that I can begin to drink more try some chicken Bouillon and start to get better. Only thing I need is a bucket, water and 3 days sleep. And now I know why. It's just my body saying no to food

I watched this one week ago, and started intermittent fasting, and as of yesterday I’ve lost 6 pounds! Thank you so much for this video! It is saving me. I switched my oils nearly 10 years ago to ONLY coconut, avocado, and evoo. I also haven’t been consuming any processed carbs. Thanks for giving Dr. Pelz this platform. I follow her now too. This is also helping with the MS diagnosis.🧡🧡🧡❤️❤️🧡🧡

Unless your eating natural coconut or coconut oil then you're making a mistake as coconut oil has twice as much saturated fats as other oils, The study was done on MCT oil which coconuts have components of but the studies weren't don't on coconuts. Look it up. Sorry for the intrusion i just couldn't not just say something.

I just heard that you might bring Dr. Mindy back for a second round. I'm so happy about this. She is an incredible human who touched so many of us with her teaching and YOU played a big role in putting the message out there. I took a screenshot from this interview, framed it and put it on my wall to always remind myself of that day were I finally turned my life around and started the healing journey. I HEALED MYSELF. That's what Dr. Mindy would want me to say because she doesn't want the credit for it. ❤🙏🏻💚🦋

Menopause is the absolute worst experience I've ever endured. I really thought I was going to lose my mind. I began engaging in negative self-talk, telling myself how stupid I am. Feeling frustrated and helpless over the increasing memory lapses, the loss of my sex drive, pain during sex, feeling "scattered" in my brain and bloated in my body. I beat myself up because, in my mind, I was no longer the woman I used to be. I developed a "barrel belly" that I'd always noticed on other women in their 50's, but never thought it would happen to me! My ordeal has lasted 10 yrs but I see a light at the end of the tunnel!

@@smokingcrab2290 Don't you mean "God help my wife when she goes thru this"? So it's about you then? haha jk ... Every woman experiences it differently. Many don't have all the symptoms at once and we all experience the hormonal changes differently. Just know that she may not be herself for about 10 yrs lol, for better for worse! You promised!3 Or, she may breeze thru it gracefully with a sense of humor and her dignity intact, few tears fallen. If she has any sex drive left at all, you're one of the lucky survivors so be grateful and supportive! Make her laugh. Women love that.

In my culture, we fast every ekadashi (11th day of the 15 day month), which means I fast twice a month. How we do it is, say today is an ekadashi, the last meal I've had was last night and the next meal I'll have would be tomorrow morning. That's around 36 hours. We have been observing ekadashi fasting for thousands of years in India. Glad it's catching up in the west.
