Richard has hit the nail on the head. The 3 of them made a program that related to everyone who has a passion for cars. All 3 are different but relatable. They just made petrol heads laugh and dream. The world would not be complete without Richard, James and Jeremy making us laugh whilst driving everything from a £200 banger to a multi million pound hypercar around the world. They never take themselves serious and that’s what works. I prey it doesn’t end.

Think the success of Top Gear was that it was different than all the other car shows. Yes, it's about cars, but more than anything it's about the dynamic and cohesion between Jeremy, Richard, and James (who all have something ralatable to them as Richard said), and I feel that just resonated with a lot of people.

I had never heard of Top Gear, when I selected an episode on my seatback screen during a flight. It was the one with the race from London to Milan (train vs. Mustang). I was hooked instantly. Richard is correct that people can identify with one of the three blokes. For me it's definitely James May. I'm also this nerdy-leaning guy who enjoys useless trivia. James is the prime example of what Richard mentioned, that the right presenter can make any subject matter interesting. Consider the Reassembler episodes. Absolutely boring and brilliant.

Top Gear!!!!! Hands down, the best show of all time imo. I started watching TG, on BBC back in 2005-06 ish. And I agree with his words. It WAS the best show!!! Cars, comedy, chemistry, traveling, challenges, science. It was just 👌🖤!!! I literally got Amazon Prime just to watch TG and GT. Hampster, May, Clarkson. The best trio on TV!!!

He is right, but also being humble. The 3 presenters are all excellent at what they do. Structuring segments, providing consistent narrative and opinion, with their own distinct but complementary styles. Richard certainly has a unique presenting and writing style, and he makes every program he’s in very interesting and tangible, be it BIG, brainiac or top gear itself. His talent to turn STEM subjects into something entertaining and relatable is not to be sneered at, whether it was learned or natural. Richard is approachable, energetic and takes you by the hand to explore & learn. James has a charismatic geeky style which draw you in with wit and passion. Jeremy is one of the most accomplished journalistic writers of his time, which is punctuated by his signature over-the-top and brilliant sarcastic style. The team also had stellar creativity. Combine their genuine/approachable personalities, their journalism and the team’s creativity to plan & film interesting pieces, there is a lot of quality going into top gear.

They were basically like any group of mates who have fun and a laugh at each others expense but also able to look back at what they have achieved. Something educational but funny as well, people will watch anything if some enjoys it and can have a laugh about it too

I always felt like Richard, James, and Jeremy were 3 guys you could meet up with at the pub to have a few beers and a few laughs with. Those years Top Gear was at the pinnacle of popularity were really good indeed.

For years until just recently I missed out on the Top Gear specials and it made it particularly difficult to find since Amazon Prime isn’t supporting it. These were some great entertainment.

When a car show you wanted to watch out of curiousity and love cars. You ended up loving three awesome Blokes and totally forgot the reason why you watch a car show

Top Gear - and Grand Tour - never really have been about the cars for me, it was about the guys, their humor and when specials came along - about the adventure.

BBC needs to release a box set (DVD) of seasons 1-22 so we can enjoy these guys again. Amazon prime no longer offers the episodes for free and to buy them all would be a fortune. I’d still pay good money for the whole series to own. (Kansas City, USA)
