I would not doubt one thought Stevie had while seeing her foster mom again was "No, I won't go back!" To me it seemed her attitude and demeanor changed when mom went "Who is it?" While standing close to foster mom. Like a moment of 'oh, she came to visit, that's okay'. So happy for Stevie that she found her furever home, and got to see her foster mom again to show her I'm okay.

This is beautiful! I love that Stevie got the forever home she deserves, with a Mom who understands her and loves her. What a happy life she gets to love now. Melanie is a wonderful woman for taking the first steps with Stevie. Without her...? And I honestly believe Stevie was torn to see Melanie walk up. Her tail instantly started wagging, she wiggles like she wanted to get down and go see her, but then I think the hesitation was, "Oh no! Does this mean I leave with her?", because that is what happened twice before, Melanie had to take her back. Even when Melanie was leaving Stevie was touching her paw to Mom, as if to say, "This is Mom. I'm happy and staying here." I can only try to imagine how it felt when Melanie left. She will always love Melanie, but Stevie is confident that this is her Mom, her pack, her family. What a gift for Stevie❣️

fosters are hero’s! it’s gotta b one of the most rewarding ( unselfish) thing u could ever do. Stevie deserves everything single she has lots of love, kindness and devotion. Stevie couldn’t of done it w/o her FOSTER LOVE AND HELP!!

I know it has gone 2 years seans this showed and It was so good to see that Stevie understood that Melanie is her "mum" of course they have memories otherwise how can they react on similar happenings? Like let say, Stevie, does have not like men, probably have she got hit and Miss Melonie had abusive a relation, so they must have similar feelings. And memories. It was nice to see that Stevie not gonna go away, she is HOME FOREVER whit mam Melanie and that they give LOVE to each other, no doubt. Ther is only LOVE and TRUST between them lets have a happy life for many years to come.

Cmon, there is a lot of animal rescue organizations that you can help just by watching videos. Takis Shelter, Animal Aid Unlimited Índia, Hope for Paws, Vet Ranch (not sure if they monetize), the Kanaka guy, NYBC and many others that appear on the Dodo

Stevie reminds me of my pupper Falkor.. Although, Falkor basically picked me. He knows I'm his human, and gets protective because of my mental issues, knows when I'm having a down day, and wilk just cuddle with me, lick my hands and arms to comfort me.. He's having dental issues right now, and my mom and I can't afford to get the work done.. Falkor was surrendered by his previous owners, because they couldn't take him with them when they moved. The way he acts, makes it seem like he had been abused. He was also a bit underweight when we adopted him, and timid..It seems like he doesn't like other dogs, but I'm pretty sure he never learned how to make friends..He also acts more like a cat, than a dog.

I confess to being a cat person, but what you all have done for this poor, mistreated dog who was bounced around several people before you got her is simply amazing! You adopted this beautiful dog who was afraid to love or trust anyone, who terribly scared and through consistent love, plenty to eat on a schedule she could understand that she would get regular tasty yummy meals that she would never go hungry again, plenty of play and lots of snuggle time, and providing her a warm, safe and loving forever home, have completely turned this dog around to where she now feels safe, knows she is safe, loved and has a safe loving forever home is simply amazing. I am not ashamed to say that even though I am a cat person, I fell in love with her and I hope that you all will have many many more years to enjoy each others company and love and wish her and you all the best.

I love seeing people that have this kind of patience with dogs and other pets. I love seeing people arrested that would abuse animals or humans. Always keep your pets on a leash or a fenced in yard (when they are not inside) and even then must keep an eye out on them because some dogs jump fences or digs out. There are awful people that go inside homes and fenced in yards to steal animals. Only takes once for them to get hit by a car or stolen.

This video is so beautiful. We adopted a rescue dog (both me and my wife's first dog) and since then I've thought about fostering, but I wasn't sure if I could handle the goodbye. Gretchen shows the same unconditional love that dogs show us humans, and that inspires me to foster.

Stevie is so similar to my dog. My dog was abused with several broken bones and traumatized when I got her. She is very sceptical and an aggressive biter. It took a lot of work and effort to gain her trust and even up to this day, every day is a new test. Every meeting with dogs is a new testing if she trusts me enough on that day, if she doesn't, she starts biting the other dogs. It is constant and daily work on trust gaining and even small hand gestures (which were too fast) or other things that scared her, can ruin trust that was built up over weeks. I hope that one day my dog will be that carefree as Stevie is with her new mom.

I found a cat on my way to work so I started feeding her and shes made the warehouse/office her home she’s loved by everyone there her name is shop kitty and she’s been part of the team for almost three years now she’s so comfortable in the shop even when there’s 50+ people welding making exhausts/performance parts love to see her everyday I would bring her home but she likes it there a lot

You saw something in those expressive eyes of hers that gave hints of her obviously tortured past... yet also showed what a loving dog she could be.
