I could be wrong. And please dont hate me for saying this. But I think bruce lee used to focus to much on hard style kungfu. Many people said he was passionate about kungfu,but he was a arrogant man and perfectionist and braggart.. So I think mr Lee may have had the wrong spirit and temperament compared to ip man. Much like myselff. Yet it is also said he was constantly working on his temperment,also much like myself. However,since I never knew him personally I cannot say. But if things that were said were true then he had a different mentality to ip man. (Not as gentle in mentality) and I think that was the difference between mastery and grand mastery. Both in skill and mastery of self. And why ip/yip is more elevated in status to some of us. IP's style was soft yet harder. But Bruce's was possibly hard yet harder still when angered. And everything harder breaks.. No give no balance.

Well, I ever read about his story. It's not actually recorded by his son. In fact, Ip Jin never existed ( the name ). From what I know, Master Ip has two sons Ip Chun ( also known as Wing Chun legend ) and Ip Ching. Since Ip Jin never existed, it means the record is not done by his son. This record was done by his student who return from America. He said that he wanted to record Master Ip's Wing Chun. So he did it, yet he wanted to do an advanced move but his student forbid him since he is already too old and heavy ilness. So, Ip Jin never exist, and this record is not done by his son, but his student. You can find the story in the internet. Sorry if there's a mistake in my information. Edit : I have watched the whole series of Ip Man excluded the Master Z. Note, " IP MAN " is a movie, so...sometimes directors make something different and fictional for an entertainment purpose. @@NurulSyifa67 IDK, since Ip Chun and Ching are both Grandmaster, I can't say which one is named " Ip Jin " in the movie. But I prefer Ip Chun as Jin, because Ip Ching is not well known as Ip Chun. Matter fact, Donnie Yen and Young Ip Man actor ( Ip Man Legend is Born ) are both trained by Ip Chun ( not sure about with who Young Ip Man actor trained Wing Chun but he certainly fights and trained with Ip Chun as Leung Bik and in Ip Man Legend is Born. So maybe Ip Jin is Ip Chun himself with other name. Just maybe Edit : Or another simple reason, since Chun is the older brother, maybe he has the credit in the movie as Jin Edit 2 : Ip Man has third son, Ip Siu-Wah. Ip Man met a mistress when he seperated with his wife for 9 years . His students then introduce him a young mistress known as " Shanghai-Po " or maybe like Shanghai Mistress(?). Later on, when his wife died because of ilness, Ip Man and Shanghai-Po had a son named Ip Siu-Wah. Please read the history about Ip Man and his wife so to avoid misunderstanding of his action No information about Siu-Wah. If Jin is solely a fictional character, then Siu-Wah is perfect person since he is not actually the part of the family.
