I myself have been digging for and have been listening to Foreign music from outside of our own Country, and I enjoy it so much! Some Artists/Songwriters sing in their own Native language, and others sing in English which is so awesome! I myself also stumbled upon this Siberian group and I love them very much already, the Otyken Band. Thank you.

hi friend, I'm Dmitriy. These girls simply extract honey in a Siberian village in the Krasnoyarsk region. Otyken translated into Chucishskiy means a sacred place of power where wars laid down their weapons. They make honey and made their folklore like you heard.

Azyan, the female singer of Otyken is my living goddess.

Oh-too-ken is the correct pronunciation. Fantastic band, found them about 11months ago and cannot get enough. The instrument has many names, Jaw Harp, Mouth Harp, Jews Harp, Vargan and several others. And yes Azyan is gorgeous.

The instrument in the mouth is called a jaw harp. It can only play one note but similar to didgeridoo, when you work with your breath und the shape of your mouth, you can generate a diversity of sounds.

The group includes representatives of different peoples of Siberia, they sing in the Chulym Khakass language and some others. They are from different villages themselves. We went to the city for some kind of seminar and there we met our producer who created a band out of them. They use ethnic beliefs and their traditional songs. These people follow shamanism. Not all of them, but it is quite common there. Scientists have found a common feature in their DNA and the DNA of Indians. You're right, they celebrate the spirit of the forest. They turn to him. The name of the group means "the place where a warrior puts his weapon."

To add an answer to his question: These women are are indigenous Tuvans. The sound like they are singing to nature because (like native Americans) they believe everything has life. The trees, the rivers. The guy (I’m assuming he’s middle eastern) is doing Tuvan throat singing which can take a long time to master. (He also does dj stuff if you go to his page) I’m proud to be a quarter indigenous Tuvan ❤️

The instrument is a form of "Mouth-Berimbau". It's metallic, you make it vibrate and apply different pressure on lips to change sound, by squeezing it. Applied very nice here.

Some of what you describe as "speaking with power" are moments when she is articulating sounds of nature... the eagle for example. Good catch. Storm is out f this world when it comes to these vocalizations. The mouth instrument is called a khomus. The three stringed instrument is called a Morin Kuhr, or "Horse Head Fiddle".
