My dad brought me home a $23 pony when I was 8. She was blind in one eye. She was my best friend for 5 years. Other than stubborn, I saw no effects from the blind eye. Spur is an awesome pony and will still be great if his eye doesn’t heal. Good luck!

I had a horse blind in one eye in the 90s. She was the sweetest horse ever! Loved kids! Super gentle!

Having sight in only one eye should not keep anyone from owning this great pony. I have a one eyed TWH saved from a kill lot and he has certainly proved to be both kind and a good trail buddy. Just respect his blind side and you will gain his trust.

Spur IS beautiful, it’s a shame that he was neglected, TY for saving him and nursing him back to health, hopefully his left eye sight can be restored.

Still after not having a rider in a while and being blind in one eye he was very cooperative and trusted your lead. He will make someone a great addition to their barn. He has a very calm and gentle nature about him. I think the first person to bond with him will have a champion for life.

He has a pretty gait. He's a proud little fella. ❤ Love the smile on Blake's face while he was riding him. Like someone who rides a Harley then has a go on an automatic scooter and has a ball. 😂

I was actually off work yesterday and watched the opening video. He is actually a really good pony. You can tell by his ears he was never stressed anytime at y'all while y'all were loading him or even saddling or riding him. Even blind in that eye he's still a solid pony.

Alan, I can’t believe the difference in Spurs hoofs now that they have been trimmed, seeing him again he looked like a different pony. I’m sure this pony will make a child an awesome Christmas present and friend for life . He definitely found his way to the right family to take that extra care of him until he is well enough to move on. Bless you all for your care, love and attention, not just on this pony but all the horses, pony’s and Donkey’s that pass through the farm on their way to there forever homes.

Let's be honest, your skill with showing him that you're trustworthy, in a language he understands, is a very important factor here. Spur seems like a very good judge of character. He also seems like if he didn't trust your intentions, he might be willing to stand his ground. He's a good soul.

Spur is such a good looking well behaved little guy, he is some kids dream he has good things to come in his future and will be very much loved.

Warm the med in your pocket to body temp before you put it in his eye. It won’t irritate the eye that way and he won’t jump or evade it going forward. Glad you saved him!

This just popped up in my feed. Great job working with this horse, Circa 1958-59 I had an Arab mare that as a colt had run into bush that put a stick into her left eye. The eye turned yellow and there was nothing that could be done. That horse, other than the amount of feed she ate, was absolutely amazing. We often had 4 of us kids on her bare back & I swear she knew just how everyone was seated and did slight moves to make sure none of us fell off. She would only do a slow trot with 4 of us on her. One day dad was busy and asked another person to saddle her... well she would blow up her belly and you would have to wait to get the cinch really snug. Big Western saddle that was far too heavy for me at my very young age. I climbed aboard from a hay bail and a friend climbed on back... We were having a hell of a time when she let out the swelling in her belly and saddle and both of us swung down under her. Holy crap. She made sure that as she slowed down to a stop that none of her legs came near either of us. Between the two of us we got the saddle slid back up on her back but it was a long walk home. Such a vivid memory 60+ years later.

As a child we had a mini Shetland who was blind in one eye also was a stud one of the best pony we had for riding just speak when coming up on that side first he seems great

He probably WAS wild at the auction. If he's never been through an auction before he was probably scared out of his mind. Poor guy. He is sooo adorable and will make someone a great pony I bet. I'm SOOOOOO glad you all got him instead of some kill buyer. P.S. I still think Johnnie would look cute riding this pony lol. Although Blake did an awesome job riding him :)

I love Spur, he definitely is a good pony. Also he definitely needs someone who will him the love he deserves, and love him for himself, especially with being blind in one eye. 👍❤️🙏🏼🙂 I rode a horse once, named Dandy, he was blind in one also his right side. He was a great horse because he let me ride him bareback and without any reins, my only cue was my legs and arms around his neck, but he seemed to know what I wanted and did it. Once he got too close to a barbed wire enclosure, and it tore a hole in my right knee. It wasn’t his fault, but my own, because I wasn’t paying attention either to him nor inside the fenced area. Lesson learned….his to me…I was just having fun being on his back without a saddle or reins, and loving it….we actually communicated….and I won’t forget it….lol…👍❤️

Spur would be the PERFECT horse for me. He's short & I'm short, he has a disability (his eye) & I am disabled. Only problem I see is that I don't think my Toy Pincher would let Spur sleep in my bed. Lol.
