These agents were true amateurs. For 8 months, they had absolutely no other leads than the car's owner. How could they not check if Carlita had a husband or bf and start from there. This case could have been solved much much earlier. I'm a bit disappointed for the first time with the FBI handling of this case.

Let me get this straight. They find the "owner" of the getaway car but it takes them another 8 months to realize the robber is the owner's gang-member husband. Then for some reason they decide to interview the wife at the robber's house but oh surprise the guy comes home and they almost accidentally kill his wife. They then capture the guy after a standoff but he escapes and proceeds to rob banks for years right under their noses. And then they botch the final SWAT raid and shoot up a neighbor's house. Why on earth would these cops show their faces on camera lol

FBI has a reliable eye witness for the car, yet they don't lift a finger to find out who the owner's next of kin are, especially her husband? Law enforcement officers made a number of mistakes: 1) they didn't check the people closest to Carlita (if they had done so, they would have found out that Carlita's husband was the bank robber); 2) at 20:20 Carlita gesticulates to her husband to let him know that agents are hiding in the bedroom, making her an accomplice. She should have been charged as well, but strangely no action against her was taken; 3) at 26:35 the captive is stupidly allowed to free himself and flee; 4) at 25:50 the captive is allowed to escape in a car because agents had failed to block all possible escape routes. His subsequent capture was just a matter of luck; 5) in case of a bank-robbing spree in a particular area agents should be stationed in every bank branch in that area. Instead, the robber was allowed to rob a series of banks in a short period of time. If this isn't incompetence, I don't know what is!

2) What would you charge her with? It's not a crime to tell your husband that there are agents in the house, especially in response to a direct question. In any case, sometimes secondary characters do get charged and the episode just doesn't mention it. 5) It sounds good in theory, but do you know how many bank branches there are in the area? Do they have the manpower for that?

🇲🇽🇲🇽 Viva la Raza 🇲🇽🇲🇽 Oso Blanco became known by the authorities as “Robin the Hood” after the FBI and local gang unit APD officers learned from a CI that he was robbing banks to send thousands of dollars to the Zapatista Rebels of Chiapas regularly during 1998 and 1999. He is now serving 55 years in prison for bank robbery, aggravated assault on the FBI, escape and firearms charges. Oso Blanco defended himself from federal agents in a gun battle on August 13th 1999 at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Although he escaped, he was arrested later that day and sentenced to time in New Mexico’s state Penitentiary. After serving just over a year in New Mexico, he escaped from a prison transport van and almost immediately began robbing banks. He was recaptured a short time later. Oso Blanco never used a gun in any bank robbery, but he has a long history of living by the gun and will not hesitate to use it on the agents of repression or the occupiers of Aztlan whom force false laws on the true people of this land. He is not asking for monetary support- he’s only asking that people become aware of indigenous people’s issues. In an interview he expressed “I am still able to hold my head up high and feel the gratification for my work in a world where money, power and destructive industries are regarded far above humanity, indigenous and impoverished peoples and cultures. I cannot help that I got deeply into my work….” Oso Blanco has been learning Cherokee and working on a project to reclaim Cherokee land in the mountains where current TN, AL & GA all meet. A really amazing article about some of these concepts is Re-envisioning Resurgence: Indigenous pathways to decolonization and sustainable self-determination by Jeff Corntassel. In Oso Blanco’s words: The Southwest and most of Oregon - is Aztlán, a place - a land - a nation - a sacred zone that has been hidden from the scholars of history, the indigenous Mexica youth, thanks to the Freemasons, the Vatican and Mormons high in the ranks of the Salt Lake Temple (who are masons too). Brothers and sisters; this is our Land and its time the truth be let out for all to see. Aztlán is unlawfully occupied. But I need not explain all the treacherous ways they came trespassing upon Holy, set apart Aztlán. The days for that are over. Because now the destructive way of Life or existing as slaves in our Grandfathers own Land, is killing everything. - the way they control us is robbing the life from us - masking our Indigenous powers and massive medicine. We live easy yet “empty” we are “lazy” yet a very unhealthy lazy spiritually - emotionally - physically - and we must set ourselves Free. We must return - the New Aztlán is now. We shall no longer kill Mother Earth and everything else just to have modern technologies and pay for death as tax slaves. We shall rise up refusing to be slaves to commerce and political lies, in our own Land. “We shall be High master” - High master of the heart Realm of Higher Consciousness. Please support the Brown Berets Please send aid to the EZLN I AM OSO BLANCO de Aztlán

yeah i believe they stopped doing this show in the late 90's early 00's, but i'd like to see court tv or some other network bring it back up.. with a modern take on how the FBI does its investigations.. the way they manage to infiltrate the Proud boys, or the way they broke down that whole sex trafficking ring in north houston.

@@josehuerta3964 My only opinion on that is that I don't think it would have the same charm of the 80s and 90s. It's like when they tried to bring back Unsolved Mysteries or the COPS show. It's not the same. Those days are long gone, unfortunately.
