I always liked watching these reality crime T.V. episodes, especially the Forensic Files I've always watched all the time. This evil monster of a truck driver showed no remorse and guilt after he killed the innocent girl and dumped her out on the side of the road. I'm glad he got life in prison.

Isn't this always the case ? The vast majority of people in society are good, ordinary folk; it is a small minority who spoil things for the majority by committing crimes.

I’ve never viewed truckers as bad people inherently though I know some people do, I don’t like driving next to or around them because they’d steamroll my car, but i’ve got no problem with the people inside of them lmao

I’m also a trucker for over 20 years and these types of crimes are not about truckers but humans. A small amount of humans are opportunists and being a trucker in situations like this puts them in a position to do evil. If I’d met her there I would have warned her of the dangers. Many of us can’t give rides to anyone anymore. Companies now have cameras facing inside the cab so if you do give someone a lift it will be the last time you drive a truck for that company.

Even if you throw out the hair evidence, the other evidence points to him being the killer. The tire treads matched exactly those found on the road where her body was found, and these were uncommon types of tires. Blood evidence matched, gas receipts matched, a blond hair was found in the truck. Dawn was blonde, and this dude had a dark history. The PA Supreme Court made the right decision in overturning a request for a new trial.

Yup, anyone that's experienced something like arriving early for an appointment can have those final 4-5 minutes feel like an eternity. or those last 15 minutes before your workshift ends, etc. But to get strangulated to death and it having to take 4 minutes of struggling attempts of keeping on breathing..... yikes. It'd very much have felt like a neverending nightmare.

Moreover, the boyfriend of the girl was murdered that also could be another story, such great investigation already on one case, this episode is outstanding in many aspects and seems unreal. 600 women missing, these incidents stopped once he was caught, believing one person was responsible for all these is hard. Hitching and taking rides is stupid and cost people their lives even back then as well but it wasn't as known about. Look on Find a Grave and type in Jane Doe. You'll see unknown/ missing people who have been unidentified for decades even centuries many of them murdered while families have no idea where they are. There are scads and scads of missing and murdered young people who were known to hitchhike and then one day disappeared. Sometimes the lasts words to their family were letting them know that they were offered a ride with someone and they will be home soon. Decades ago.

My guess it was 18, but alot of guys won't look at a 17 yr girl as a child, not saying it was right for him to have her when he looked to be in his 30s, but this happened 30 yrs ago, and both of them are long dead.

@veroe2407 It has happened alot, even before this day and age, younger girls would even get married at 16. Alot of men have been guilty of statutory rape. It has happened so often, guys would nickname underage minors jail bait. As I mentioned before, she wasn't a child, but a underage minor right on the edge of becoming a legal adult. She was looking for something to fill the emptiness in her, a desire to be loved and cared for, and this truck driver fulfilled that need she had by becoming her boyfriend. Was it right? Legally no, but unfortunately, it happened and both of them were murdered. I also mentioned if the truck driver would've done right by her, and been a big brother to her instead of her lover/boyfriend, and encouraged her to stop running away, and stay put in the school she was in, she may have lived, instead of getting murdered, but then it still wasn't his fault she also got murdered. Do you see the point I was making, you can argue this till you, me and everyone else is blue in the face about the morality of the situation, this relationship she had with the truck driver, it's a moot point, because it's done and happened a long time ago in the past, and nothing will change about what happened between these two, but this wasn't even the main point of this story, which was this case was solved, and justice was done for this girl who lost her life at a young age.
