As a foreigner attorney, my thoughts are: 1) what would stop me from just picking up and moving to a new island or leaving the Philippines entirely and ignoring the lawsuit and 2) most foreigners leave their money in their home country, so how would a successful plaintiff under this law collect on his judgment against me? If I ever got sued like this I’d just waive goodbye and disappear.

I am maried for 23 years ... My husband is american and the moment I signed our vows I make sure that my husband is not a walk ATM .. I make it clear that my siblings my family is not his responsibility... His responsibility is our own life and children. Just incase if there's an emergency if we have some to help we will extend, but were both not a breadwinner.I am a Pilipino and in my family were not raised to be responsible for the entire family need.

My sister shared this video to me. I've been in a relationship for 4 years and just got engaged this year. This really sucks and I feel bad for my fiance. As a seventeen-year veteran of marriage to a Filipina I cannot say that this surprises me. Remember guys, when you marry a Filipina, you don't marry an individual; you marry a family. Your wife comes with many financial obligations. Be aware of this before you marry her, and if you don't want these expectations, don't get married.

Oh hell no ! So my parents and my siblings can be lazy and then sue me for support ! The crazy thing is that the foreigner, if married to a Filipina could very well fall into this situation as well. Nah ! I’ll pass !

This is a never get married to a Filipina law. If she ever mentioned this law it would be time to get a different girlfriend law. I appreciate the Information.
