First find. I believe it's a tensioner for tightening cables. I believe the two cables are threaded through those two ends, and then you can put a rod through the middle of it and turn that piece to tighten the cable. The more you turn that piece, the more the threads pull from both sides making the cable tighter.

The flat-sided slot at one corner of the plate is for slipping onto one of the box's four mounting-screws, and then the keyhole slot is for slipping the plate onto the second of the four screws (only two screws would be inserted into the box at first) at the opposite corner of the box and turning the plate slightly to temporarily mount the plate onto the box; the other two screws would then be inserted into the two remaining (elongated round) holes in the plate, and all four screws would the be tightened into the box's threaded holes for securing the plate in place. :D

@Quacks0
@Quacks0 2 жыл бұрын
Ummmm I don't think so --- I think that broad curved flat piece was just a side-wall of the knife; the blade itself was apparently missing (that's likely what that stump-end is that Tyler is fingering at 11:54). I agree that it did indeed look a lot like a straight-razor blade at first, but it has a drilled hole in the end, so I think it was meant to be riveted in place inside the handle of the knife. :D

27:32 The term you're thinking of is 'cant hook'. Typically, they have two hooks to provide better control over the log, but some do only have one hook (which makes sense if there's a team all working together; cheaper to make, less likely to break, easy to repair).
@rware570

The first thing you pulled off a magnet it is a wire tensioner or cable tensioner (the tensioner is called a turnbuckle if you look on your light poles with the guide wires you'll see them down on the bottom by the ground)if it was a sawmill there they might had I had a cable there in your tightening it up so the wind don't blow it away but yeah it's a tightener that have bolts with two eyelets on each end and they screw into that and then you tighten it down

One end of the turnbuckle is reverse-threaded so that it would tighten (i.e., draw inwards) the also-reverse-threaded bolt-shank inside it; this would allow both bolt-shanks to be drawn inwards as the turnbuckle was turned.

An electrical box flat cover, the style you would use when joining wires together. Being my age [76] has its advantages in that I've either used things like that or in the case of the eyebolt device seen it used. BTW I was a plumber for about 10 years, in the US military for 28 years, and a local cop for 10 years. Nowadays I'm retired, but I'm still CERT qualified (Community Emergency Response Team) and have been since 2002.

2:11 it is a cable tightener and or a threaded rod tightener, usually used to keep something square and for structural stability much like struts on metal walls and bridges... each end gets a threaded rod, the threads on the end are revered,s o when you turn the part you have in your hand it puts tension on each rod.

First one looks like a part of a tractor, used to adjust attachable equipment like blades or mowers, but oversized. Commonly called a 'Turnbuckle', you turn it one way and it tightens, turn it the other way and it loosens so that something can be raised or lowered. I recently restored about a 50 year old screw driver, was used to hold a latch closed rather than use a lock. Your find still has the handle so it should be easy to clean up and use. Those pliers look like angled hog ring pliers. Now you got an anchor for your small boat. Nailed it. Back when I was a teen driving grandma warned me to avoid driving on the shoulder because workers tended to lose bags of nails from their work trucks, bad for tires. Busted up straight razor, missing the razor part. Nice small brass (?) lock. OKAY, time to get away from those rocks. You never need to shop for fishing lures, you find so many in the rivers. YAY, you ran into some fans that got you in a picture. NICE. Ewww, dead fish. Yeah, hose connector for a garden hose. Straight razor for shaving. Quite possibly a logging hook, there are many different styles of those.

Now, that tool you brought out that looks like a pair of pliers. The bottom piece is broken. I believe, and I might be wrong but, it looks like a tooth set for a hand saw. All wood hand saws teeth need to be set. One set of cutting teeth need to be bent in one direction and the next set of teeth need to be set in the opposite direction.. I believe that is the tool that does it.

I know what that first find is. It's a rebar tensioner, the threads pull inwards when it's fitted to two separate threaded rebar sections and is used to pull them into tension.

The knife is a filet knife and you could have tried it it on your fish caught on a magnet!! And the pole with the bolts is for killing zombies 🧟‍♂️

get rid of the carabiner and tie the rope tight to the magnet, no big loop that can catch on something, you might loose less magnets. Use the carabiner end to tie to the shore.

First find, opposite threaded for cable tensioning, for guy wires. That one is huge. Two opposing eye bolts, pull the cable tight.

Hi the 1rts thing you pick is the center pièce of a turnbuckle. Each extremity Will be a thread rod and a jaw. Mainly use with steel câble.

It's a turn buckle - pretty large one - or as Brian said, aka "cable tensioner". Two eye bolts thread into each side and attached to cables. Opposite thread direction so turning the part you found will pull the eye bolts closer together and tighten the cables. Locks with long shanks are "bicycle" locks.

I hope I can see more actual videos by you in place of short clips like I've been getting notifications for. I love how you try to get us viewers involved with you and how encouraging you are with people who are doing mag fishing with you.
