HOW TO TIE SABIKI STYLE ASSIST HOOK WITH WINGS
For some people, sabiki style assist hooks are preferred. I usually make these in smaller sizes for shore and light jigging - I don't particularly use them for deeper water, but I have to say they are quite effective in shallower water.
In this video, I show you how to make these Sabiki Style Assist Hooks with Wings. The wing gives the illusion of a body and gives off a larger light reflection since it has a larger surface area. The materials I used in this build are all UV reactive, but you can choose to use materials that are not.

I feel like I have viewed many of your videos and I really want to start tying my own assist hooks now. Thank you for showing me that its not that hard, (or at least you don't make it look hard). I need to find a vice that will hold the same hooks as your vice can hold these larger salt water hooks. Am I correct that not any vice will do? What should I look for, or what vice do you recommend?

I just googled that, it looks like a do it swm jig with a makeshift assist hook.

Hello. Thanks for your all video. It very help me to make properly assist hook. Maybe you know what to do if on the fishing my lures(jigs and minnows) have to much damage on the suface!? howbto prevent or rapair my lures!?

Damage from the hooks on lures is normal - try changing the hooks one size up or one size down and see if it makes the damage less.

if you are able to make really small ones, it would, but its difficult to make in very small sizes.

Kit do you have any experience with marfix reels ?

a bit....and I don't use them. They are good reels, but are too heavy for my liking.

oh...well, they aren't bad...but they are heavy and I find them unwieldy. weight is crucial in in jigging - the lighter the reels are, the more you won't be fatigued and the more sensitive your combo will be...being a big buy or being strong isn't an excuse either...so I just stay away from reels and rods like these. I hope it works out for you though. @@adamd8414

The weight isn't super bad, but if you are using them for jigging, it makes a difference, especially when slow jigging. Which is odd, coz they are supposed to be slow jigging reels. @@adamd8414
