How in the world is fishing going to spread the virus? Here in the US they've closed national forests. Miles upon miles of empty space, perfect for "social distancing"......off limits. Nuts.

Virgil Settle - Don’t get me started. You will see from our videos that 90% of the fishing we do is either solo or me and our son on a boat or on the beach alone. But the rules weren’t made with us in mind. They have to cater for those without common sense. Hence we are al locked down. 🤷🏻‍♂️

When I was a kid, Rock and chips was our friday night dinner, Our pet dog loved the bone from them, It was his treat for the week as well... In those days, Nan (god bless her ) used to go to the fish market ( Remember them ? ) to get a couple of Plaice for her dinner and a pound of Pollock for the cats !!. Pollock in them days (60s/70s) was considered as not worth eating.....

The way eel fishermen do it is nail the skull to a vertical board and then pull the skin downwards with pliers. It's easier if you score the skin all the way down on both sides so you pull it off in strips and not like a sock.

HOW did I miss this one!? You brought back memories for me. Dad was given half a dozen dog fish one day. He knew they needed skinning but no advice on how was given. The end result was nailing it through the head to the upright of the shed door and vigorous pulling with pliers and whatever else could be found! Mum wrote an account of it what as published in the Farmers Weekly, along with the cartoon of it that my eldest brother drew - a bit like the kids book about the Great Big Giant Turnip. We did get the fish skinned and we all ate well - a truly enjoyable meal and sadly often overlooked by those who don't realise just how good it is! A bit of Rock and Chips - yes please! Love to Hannah - she did a great job there! xxx

Very nicely done and you did good too, John! We get a lot of Spiny dogfish in the winter and Spring off the Eastern seaboard of the United States. I enjoy them. Skinning, just take off the fillet on both sides and then lay skin side down and skin from tail up with a knife under the meat like a regular fish Soak in milk overnight to draw out the Urea and then cook. Make Shark Nuggets with them, sometimes. Cut in chunks, toss in seasoned coating and then bake in the oven. Children enjoy them that way. Take care, great video.
