I don’t see EF mount lenses going away any time soon. And the best part about EF lenses is that you can put them on pretty much any camera! So in that sense, they’re the best lenses to buy! If you’re expecting to switch to a different platform in the future, most likely Sony, a good option would be to buy Sigma lenses. Using the MC-11 adapter with the compatible sigma lenses will give your EF glass native level autofocus. This is a pretty easy one as most people slap a sigma 18-35 on this thing and almost never swap it. Another option is to focus on buying cinema lenses. These won’t have autofocus anyway and so having somewhat expensive ef cinema glass that you can put on any camera is never gonna be a bad investment. Unless you’re ultra serious and using PL mount lol. It’s a lot easier to find prime lenses, such as cinema lenses, that will be effective for both full frame and crop as well. Finally, if you’re gonna buy this camera, you’re gonna learn how to manually focus. So you just might decide that you’re not too bothered by the idea of adapting any of the lenses to any camera and just manually focusing. So all that to say, EF is probably the glass I’m MOST comfortable in investing in.
@ElayneOkaya11 ай бұрын
If you’re looking for a plug-and-play solution, then I would agree that this is not the camera for you. BMPCCs need to be rigged but some people don’t mind that. It’s still a very good camera though. Also, EF is still way too popular for it to be an issue.

Totally Disagree!!! I bought this camera few months ago and let me kill your arguments. 1.- Battery Life: I got the original battery pack, so I can use 3 batteries and the same time. Do your math! 2.- "Form Factor": First of all, is weird call Form Factor instead the right word: Design. Filmmakers don't buy design, we buy quality, capacities and possibilities. I'm sure that you never going to buy a Red Monstro camera because have a "weird design". 3.- Lens Mount: This was the MAIN reason to buy this camera, because I has been using Canon lenses for the last 25 years. With this camera I don't have the need to buy any adapters. Conclusion: If you can't buy the $130 Original Battery Pack for this camera and want to use just one and make a video in KZfaq to talk trash about it, you don't deserve own it.
