I don't care about the audio or the quality... I care about the content, and this was amazing to me. Really helpful. Reviewing OTHERS work helps a lot relating to it instead of reviewing Blind work. Best videos I have been watching on graphic design so far. Chris, my sketching always had a taste of graphic design which I realised after my undergraduation in product design and from last year I'm doing research, learning and practiceing graphic design. I feel like the schooling system screwed up my generation; people around my age, the 25year olds. When I went to college for graphic design, no one had confidence or passion. Everyone was distracted, and emotionally unstable, no one had urgency to focus. I'm admitting this even though I was the most unstable person in my program. I've come to realize you need a balanced healthy lifestyle in every aspect to build confidence and you need to write your goals and stick to them. Any form of guilt, distraction or over indulgence will weaken you.

Pre-disclosure: I posted this on another video of yours. I have a question for you! How can I as a teacher of Graphic Design using Adobe products at the high school level, create a current/relevant/authentic personal portfolio by May...Did I mention I have ZERO clients? I have spent the last ten years helping students create their portfolios to get in to design schools and to meet their education requirements. I am looking to leave education and redefine my career in Design. I am looking at position within the industry at one of Turner Broadcast's line up of associated networks and studios. I am not prepared with an up-to-date portfolio (digital or print), I do not have a blog documenting past design ideas, skills, work, etc. Wearing rose-colored glasses, I really believed I would retire as an educator. I feel awful that I let documentation of my person work slip...but that is what teachers do, they give their all to their students...no regrets, just know I am starting a portfolio from scratch now. Again, I have ZERO current client work. Where can I start to build an authentic body of work and have it ready by May 2017? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The problem with the layout of the second guys website is that he used design elements from 2007 and combined it with design styles of 2014/15... without any clear vision of form to function. It can be done but... you need someone who knows what happened in 2007 and why and 2014 and why, to pull it off though, some old G's could do it. This of course unbalanced the whole situation and causes discomfort when you use the page and YES!!! on the animation comment - "just because u can doesn't mean you should" is a rule of thumb that I wish UX/UI designers would use more. These younglings (heavy french eyeroll) You were "spot on" with your insight of the first guy's portfolio representations. The 3rd person's also spot on, also, with ping pong I would add tention to the parts of the words ping and pong... because it's one of those intense sports... we should convey it since it is the most painful and best part of the sport. Word tension is that cringe that makes you feel good if you get it right, paying attention to these kinds of design opportunities can have easy yet impactful emotive payoff. The girl at the end and her confidence... when people figure out there is no wrong in design - there is just "tweek it till it's done and right and the client gets bored of themselves in the proccess", they tend to relax alot. Practicing positive focus is also helpful. Focus on the wins and winners ( the people who appreciate and buy your work are the winners btw) not the losers. I have a wall of fame on my office wall of all the work I successfully sold over the years and it's my work happy place. Low self- worth is a whole other story though and should be treated differently up to a point. Mental issues has its time and place like say.... ArkhamAssylum and not my personal workspace. So if a pat on the back don't help I tell people to drink that little happy pill and get on with it.

Thanks Buddy i've enjoyed listening to your perspectie on things. The Ping Pong could use some letter (Typography) help but it had good neg space in the bottom left. Also you didn't need to bring up his bad led / papper skills because you tell everyone to send them in and some times you just need to get the idea out no matter how it looks on paper. I know you are bringing these up because this is the critique portion but even though i'm a rookie to your vids it didn't seem like you were just saying only critiques at times. Are you an Artist or a Mathamatician... That was retorical because I've also noticed the more i watch the more i see u have to say No!!!.... That Doesn't go with my Grandious Typoghaphy classes or the golden ratio!? Don"t get me wrong I really appreciate all that you have taught me but it seems like your teaching #RoboArt!

These are the worst kinds of videos, those that critique other's creativity. This is wrong on every single level and shame on you for doing so. Creativity comes from within, a place where not even the creator doesn't know... To critique that is an insult and a big one
