I love your disclaimer "with taste" - I'm with you brother! 😃
@nathanararat48073 жыл бұрын
I might suggest a slight variation. Tastes vary and some people consider anything other than 3 note triads to be “too busy”, “showy”, or “distracting” (not what I would say but some people throw those subjective terms around like crazy as though they have a lock on what is “good”) So, I offer the following rephrase “additional notes add more complexity to the sound, and can be added according to your taste”. More notes always subjectively adds more complexity (not subject to interpretation), but can be added according to YOUR taste (the subjective application). I think this may be the best way to accurately convey the concept.
@polyglotta13 жыл бұрын
@@nathanararat4807 Yes..all depends where the Spirit leads you too. I like complexity in moderation but it can be distracting if overdone.

I’ve got a question: Aren’t 7-3-6 progressions kinda the same as 2-5-1s? What I mean is that the intervals between 7-3-6s are the same as between 2-5-1s, so 7-3-6 could be interpreted as the minor 2-5-1 to the relative minor of the key you’re in? (I’m pretty much a noob still but I just thought of this, is this actually a thing?) Example: F major is your key, so d minor is your relative minor. A 7-3-6 in F major would be E A D, in d minor a 2-5-1 would be E A D as well, but as a minor 2-5-1
@thegiftedhandsmusic2 жыл бұрын
Yup, you are 💯% correct. A 736 can also be looked at as a 251 in the relative minor key 👍🏾

This is cool, but the notation and chord names switching around is distracting. Personally, I think it would be easier to follow with normal linear notation and chord symbols.

I like that it's not in C because it cause me to learn my other keys which should be learned. I understand where you coming from tho. It's hard to see certain chords in other keys but eventually it will become easier with practice.

@fanyanajoshuadube76274 жыл бұрын
Not everyone actually finds C easy to play in you know. I think it’s good he does a bunch of different tutorials in different keys cause one of the concepts you need to master whilst you’re still a beginner is to play basic chords and progressions in all 12 keys before you het stuck to just one key.

Lino. In C Major it's easy to not need to remember flats or sharps. But that makes it hard to FEEL where you are, since you don't have the height difference of any black keys.
