It feels weird that a simple "bold move" can redirect a gigantic sandworm. Good to see the game offers this mechanic but, in that case I would ask for a seriously convincing narrative from the player to justify that ability.

I have to imagine these twists come from Troy and Jared just drinking cocktails together and going "wait, what if we did this to them" "dude wouldn't it be crazy if we..."

That cliffhanger was just rude, Troy. Now I have to go straight into the next episode. This just keeps getting better and better, and even if you're not completely using the system correctly (I have zero clue about that other than from the comments), I couldn't care less because this has been such a blast to watch the incredible story unfold. Slightly sad that Troy is passing the torch after Ep.5, but I've got a feeling I'll enjoy Jared's GM too. Everyone in the cast is just so great.

So I have looked elsewhere, anyone familiar with this system: do social encounters follow similar rules to combat in this system? Like would the cave encounter normally have zones and initiative?

this is kinda the biggest controversy around this game it seems to me. the book does contain the zones mechanic for social interactions (like plans within plans, intrigue, manipulation, blackmail and so on - since all those things are very important in dune) if you want to spice things up and make them strategic and competetive. the same goes for duelling - there is a mechanic to dramatize a knife duel with zones and this mechanic - since knife duelling is such an important part of this world and can totally be the complete climax of a chapter, just like in the first dune book. anyhow, you can totally just roleplay and do simple checks. the "core" mechanic is always at your grasp, somewhat akin to how the guys play it here.

Great series! Assisting works just like a regular skill roll, with assisters rolling 1d20 and the lead character rolling 2d20. Successes combine, assistants can't spend Momemtum but lead roller can. Using the Voice to bolster is clever, but there's a Talent called Bolster that kind of does that already. I think the Voice check would have provided a Trait for the scene like Confident for 2 successes or more. That would have lowered the difficulty from say 4 to 3.

The show is great! But how on Earth (sorry - on Dune) can you move Boldly with Stealth as a focus and how exactly, in in_game reality, it moves the Worm??? I understand that everybody here is quite new with 2d20, but since chase scene was obviously planned ahead, I think it could be better worked out in terms of rules

Depictions of the voice are probably one of the things I dislike about the Movies and Mini series. For cinematic reasons it's treated like some weird sounding supernatural power. It's actually just observing a person till you know enough to pitch your voice and move your body in such a way that the listener acts without realizing it was outside influence.

Imagine being so clueless and such a misogynist that you don't even recognize either of the women or the fact that they've been doing RPGs on the internet for almost a half-decade. This is called an All-Star team for a reason. Go back into your basement and watch something else on Faux News or literally anything else besides amazing RPGs because those 2 women are in some of the best you'll find. Or admit you're wrong and go watch Black Dice Society on the D&D channel (warning there are 4 women total so that might terrify you). It's phenomenal.

I've watched quite a bit of Glass Cannon Network and I find Becca and Noura to both be entertaining and very charming players/people. I think their costumes look great - they both look gorgeous and I don't personally find it to interfere at all with the show. If anything, I personally find it to add to the mood. If you don't like it, you probably ought not to watch it but there are plenty of people who like it and do not feel the way you do. They don't always wear costumes during the shows but I always find them to be entertaining , regardless.
