To answer Kate's question- It felt pretty good. Also, I remember putting that in during the beta test for the new crit program where we were asked to put a bunch of crits and fumbles in to start populating the new program. Good times :D

Magic Missile is now Force Barrage. Force Bolt is a wizard focus spell that's like a single bolt from force barrage.

I think for these single enemy fights you need to be Aiding, demoralizing, feinting, etc. Its usually a much better thing to do with your third action and it might give you that slight bonus that you all seem to be missing by.

They've probably already recorded that episode, but I hope Matthew remembers that when the group faces off against Kaneepo, Talitha can Devise a Stratagem against them as a free action! It's an often-overlooked part of the investigator's kit. Also, I think Sydney's going to be happy with one of the new cantrips in Player Core 2 when it comes out!

My husband played Magic the Gather from about 1995 until our son was about 5 years old. He said he just didn't have the time. Broke my heart when sold his collection. He still misses it. He said he no longer had time and we needed the money. Both true but still heartbreaking. I still have two binders of Unhinged and Unglued. I refuse to let them go. They are complete. Working on the last one. I don't think I will get the full Unfinity set. Not for lack of wanting it, it's just we aren't in the scene anymore so it's a lot of buying packs and praying and it's a lot of money to drop on something I just want because they make me laugh. lol

Quickened with no provenance is dangerous, as you rightly point out you can cast multiple spells. Traditionally the source of Quickened (like the haste spell) restrict what actions are valid for the extra action.

the quickened condition states it can only be used for stride or strike actions

@@seasnan6822 Incorrect. Read the condition. It says the effect that grants the condition determines the restriction. Look at haste or the quickstrike runes for examples of that. If no restriction is given then it is straight up another action.

How many 20's would have been 21's with a bless spell or a bard with courageous anthem or some ability to apply frightened or clumsy to the enemy. I think they are all playing great and I'm loving the show but it does demonstrate pf2e's design philosophy and the importance of these things against higher level enemies

They're not playing great lol. They all have the ability to apply frightened and no one tried once. I don't think there was even an Aid in this fight. They're much happier to waste RK on a GM that won't tell them shit.

I'm sure it has already been said, but Shocking Grasp can still be taken and cast. It wasn't replaced. It was just not reprinted in the new player core. It would only be replaced if a spell with the same name was printed.

Quicken : I could be wrong, but I think it would only allow a spell or effect that cost one single Action in PF2. So it can be great for casters if they have a spell or more that can be done with only one Action. Am I wrong?

From the Player Core: "Many effects that make you quickened require you use this extra action only in certain ways." So if it isn't specified, as it wasn't in the crit jawn, it sounds like you can use it for anything.

I love MTG. Been playing since 93. I love the lore I have read all the books. There used to be a amazing podcast called voice for all. It was a community based audio full cast reading of the web fiction. But they fell off sometime 2022 I think. I play daily on arena since 2018. I hit up Fnm every now and then and usually do the pre sales.

Please! Someone let Sydney know she CAN use Shocking Jawn (grasp)! The name was changed in the remaster, ergo thunderous strike and shocking grasp are different and the pre-remaster version can be used as normal!

Or let her swap it for Horizon Thunder Sphere from Secrets of Magic.Still first level and requires a spell attack roll so it can be used with Spellstrike in its 2 action casting, but it's ranged as a spell with different effects if you use 2 actions, 3 actions, or 2 rounds of 3 actions.

PFS does not waste time at a table figuring out hypotenuse. You use either distance or height, whichever is higher, and then move one with the game; Also, the extra action from Haste can only be used to Strike or Stride, it cannot be used to cast a spell.
