yeah but the odds are you'd spend less owning a RAPTOR than the house. and the odds are the the raptor will hold its price value . you have to invest a ton of money for your house to make money on it. so I recommend living in a RAPTOR

Jaikar Chatha Actually, that’s not true. The 5.0 weighs 444lbs dry and the standard 3.5 ecoboost weighs 449lbs dry. Given that the Raptor makes more power than the standard, there is likely even more weight to help with cooling. The 5.0 would be a perfect truck for this application and is badly needed to give buyers some options. I’m looking to buy one once my 2016 lease is up but only if they decide to give it a V8 option.

Jaikar Chatha It’s possible but they Roush and Shelby have supercharged trucks available and they handle well, I don’t think the added weight would be much of an issue if the suspension was retuned

the supercharger gonna tack on anywhere from 50-150 pound to the front making the truck very nose heavy not ideal for jumping the truck. the new trucks have better weight distribution than the old ones making it balanced for Dune jumping. to put the V8 in it would mean going back to makes sure its balanced and throw a supercharger on top it would be a lot of work

Val Nikonov : I went with Magnetic Gray. Black honestly looks better in my opinion but it’s going to show scratches and dirt way more clearly than gray does.

Nathan Actually i'm wrong, the ecoboost makes more Torque while the v8 makes more HP. but since most of the time the torque is what's gonna get you going, especially with the ecoboost at low rpm, so if you put a race between the eco and v8, the eco will win but still the v8 is not gonna be far behind at all. So at this point it's more of a personal preference and what you think is more efficient (ecoboost) and reliable ( 6.2 V8 ) and the one that lasts longer ( 6.2 V8 ) and like i said the one with the power is eco but the V8 is plenty capable.

Kevin Fortin I'm just part of the crowd that has sentimental appeal to the V8. I drive a 78 LTD with a 5.8L 351. It's not fast or efficient at all, but I'm never wondering what it would sound like with a big V8 😋 I'm noticing that the 3.5 is Ford's new flagship, and I'm sure it's very sound, especially being both a truck and a racecar engine, this engine is impressive. I won't deny that.

QuM3 : I would pick (and did pick) the Raptor. The other cars you mentioned aren’t even in the same class as it.

I get that they are not in the same class, my point was about engines. I recently had Turbos blow which dumped oil in to the engine combustion chambers and the exhaust from that mixture destroyed the Catalytic Converters. $8000 in damages. My lesson was that there is no substitute for sheer displacement for power and engine longevity. Turbos will blow. Ford once had a 6.2 L engine, they can still be found out there on the used market, they will last for decades to come. Your Raptor will not have the legacy, its all show and pomp and no one will touch it as a serious work truck in the future. To costly once its out of warranty.

I thought the same thing but a twin turbo V6 @450 hp does the trick. Don't forget the 2018 Ford GT employs the 3.5 Eco Boost twin turbo engine too, making easily north of 600 hp. It's a different world now. And this is coming from a 427ci Corvette owner too. I do love them V8s.
