Completely agree with your analysis. I would definitely have considered a Nighthawk when I bought my first "big" bike. Circumstances dictated my choice, nearby, right money, good fit, and reasonable ease of maintenance were key factors. I bought a 2000 GSX600F, 11000 genuine miles, £1500. I'm 6ft 3ins, 64 years old, and passed my test Feb 2022. (Rode Fizzy and TS125 back in the 70's). I absolutely love the bike and will never part with it (I do want a Z900RS in the future, pennies permitting). Great vid again, cheers, Andy.

I feel like a CB is such a great bike you can't really go wrong with, they been in production for so long, parts will be around for many years to come. Solid, reliable bikes! It would be make such a sweet cafe racer project.

Picked up a 92 last fall. I love it! Went through it over the winter. No valve adjustments ever is great! Cleaned and jetted carbs, brake fluid, oil, filter, air filter, etc. Had an 83 650 Nighthawk new. Then several 11-1300 cc bikes, now heading back down. Probably keep this till the end.

May years ago, I bought a Honda Cd250u. It was best described a s a parts bin bike (basically looked like Honda put it together with parts already in their catalogue). It was a very uninspiring bike to ride, but was a perfect commuter. I remember the mid 90's Japanese manufacturers releasing their UJM's. Bikes like Kawasaki Zephyr 750. Very basic bikes, but had a purpose as cheap commuters. I bought a Kawasaki GPz750 about 6 months ago. Great fun and something different than the other bikes in the garage.

I own a 1982 cb750k with 19k miles and have done all the work you've mentioned as well as the carbs and fork seals. Bullet proof bikes no doubt.

I look forward to reading all the comments. I was surprised that even someone at 6'7 and 280 lb is still a fan of the unassuming Nighthawk 750. I'm only 5'4 but weigh 200 in my gear, riding street bikes since 1975; many many bikes have come and gone. My 2002 Nighthawk 750 with 53K miles is on my keeper list. And I have well over two dozen bikes. I'm slowly working on getting it down to a dozen. My survivalist two bikes would be my TW200 and my CB750 Nighthawk. I would add to the list in the following order: #3 my SV650 sporty bike. #4 my DR650 "Adventure" bike. #5 my VN750 Vulcan cruiser. After that, it's tough, hard to part with: CT110 Trail, 650SC NH, VS800, Hornet 919, and 1200 Bandit. No track bikes for me. Other bikes that I'd hate to let go: XT225, V65 SABRE, 3rd gen Magna 750, Triumphs, and an F650 Dakar. Honorable mentions go to BMW Boxer twins, the Bonneville line, and standard Moto Guzzis. I say all this only to give examples of keepers I discovered along the way, and to honor the 1993-2003 Honda Nighthawk CB750 by comparison. When I consider ALL factors: rider, cost, comfort, reliability, performance, mods, and so on and so on... (except off road) the NH 750 is hard to beat.

Hey yesterday I bought a 1991 nighthawk as my first bike. It turns off when choke is off because it’s idling too low. Can’t wait to get this bike running in good shape again and to get my full bike license

The cb750 was my first bike and I love it as well all said on here Is fact. What my favorite part of it is how much gas I save riding around everywhere with only 20 dollar or less

These older bikes are great value, no electronic ride modes or that sorta stuff. Fairly easy to maintain and relatively easy to get to most things. Plenty of parts and information out there to be had. One unrelated question though mate, what sort of mileage were you getting out of a tank of fuel on the Falco, Cheers mate

My first big bike was a 1981 Nighthawk. Awesome bike, which my ex-wife at the time made me sell.

🤔Self Adjusting Tappets, Bah Humbug! I would miss the buckets and shims that made valve adjustment a mathematical nightmare..... Do the measurements and then pop down to the Two Wheel Centre and wait while the mechanic rummaged about for the sizes I wanted, then fit them, check them and change a few again🤣... It is a great UJM. I look forward to learning more it is good for my digestion. 👍

Would you recommend it to a first time rider? I know it's a little heavier and more powerful than what's usually recommended but I think it's really what I'm looking for, something that's fast and fun but also can take me long distances (I'm 5'7" so i don't think I'll have your problem). I also found one on marketplace that's pretty cheap.

Rode an R1 for 15 years. Sold it when my son was born. Got the itch to ride and bought a 91 Nighthawk for $750. Its no R1, but I am impressed with its simplicity, and capabilities. It great for what it is

Hello, I have a '91 Honda NH750 for 30 years, I have bought many other motorcycles in these 30 years but I have never sold it for many reasons, among them because of its purity when riding, after 6000 RPM it gets very tasty and what you say Why sell it? I would miss it a lot and I agree with you, it is a great motorcycle for every day and for short Sunday rides and I tell you something else, in 30 years what I have paid has been coins compared to what I I have been asked for other European motorcycles all these years, greetings from Bogotá, Colombia

Just the starter is expensive about 280 get the Rick's one and you should be good. Very simple install.

I gave mine to my son after the hurricane. It has a wiring problem, and he`s an electrician. I paid $1K for it, and rode it for 4 years. I bought a Suzuki C50 for $2K, and now I`m not tempted to think I`m at Isle of Mann when I`m drunk on it ;- )

GBiker-- I hope you'll reconsider recommending a 75 hp, 470 lb. (dry weight), 120 mph, 30.5 in. seat height motorcycle as a "beginner bike". Even professional rider training programs here (New England, USA) use 250cc, 20 hp models - with seats no higher than 28 in. off the ground. Training is NEVER done on public roads. You're tall. Long legs. Typical guy is 5'8"-5'9", 160 lbs. He can't even get both feet down from a 30.5 in. seat. As an actual beginner on a 750 Nighthawk, he'll drop the bike at least three time$ before he can manage it well enough to hit a parked car or tree, as he attempts to round a first-time curve @ 30 mph. Given that, what about a 5'5", 120 lb. female "beginner"? Good channel with good vids. But, in this case, bad advice (imo).

I personally would not recommend this bike for long trips i.e highway riding. The bike is not very smooth when she's rung out. You get quite a bit of vibration in the seat and the bars when she's up there in the rpm range. As far as a daily commuter, she's excellent. The bar, peg, seat relation is so very very good. It feels like a big dirt bike. Perfect riding position for an old guy like myself. I get compliments often. It is a stylish bike with legendary Japanese quality.
