All this is pointless if you can't player switch and when you player switch it goes to a team mate that's not even in the play. It's also pointless when gameplay is terrible, button delay. Or when the game decides that you've made a clean tackle that your opponent needs to get the ball back or rebound back for an easy goal.

What do you mean by scripting????, do you mean that the game seems impossible to play and your opponent seems to get all the breaks , your passing falls apart , keeper saves impossible shots ?? equally i have the breaks ,, all my passes work without any effort etc, scripting implies this is done on purpose ,

@@mjhmjh6444 No problem Mark. This is only speculation, but I think in theory it is to make the games more "random", and as a result, each player wins some games (to keep them happy). Agreed, I decided to stop playing a few weeks ago for the same reason :-(

I conced stupid goals on fifa 20, never ever conceded like this on any other fifa title in the history of the game. Just played someone that seemed to be man to man marking across the pitch, and all his players were running like usain bolt, I've always been a decent fifa player this new one is completely horrendous

What about the insanely aggressive AI defending? Getting the lead in this game is the worst decision you will ever make because the AI just presses you with insane aggression and hogs the ball until they score, blocking every pass, blocking every shot, gaining superhuman abilities to catch up to my sweaty players and slaughter them off the ball. Scripting and DDA kick in after you take the lead, my players become extremely slow and the AI start to tear my defence to pieces with one touch Barcelona style play. Absolute laughable joke this game.

Very true.. I just fucked up.. almost went on to break my PS4.. If you take a lead against AI you will be finished.. funny part is, in some matches my players were received yellow card even if the mistake was on AI's end.. lol

Or you must be playing a different build of Fifa compared to the rest off us. Cause the concepts are the basics of defending, but on one sided delay good luck player switching, or jockeying. The delay makes it impossible.

Been a PES player for some years now while also playing fifa against buddies. But this year i tried to actually do some career mode. Love the licenses for bundesliga etc. But the defending is gamebreaking for me and extremely frustrating! Switching is broken and tackles just bounce of...ridiculous. Guess it's back to PES again...

I rarely use the tackle button. Cause once you don't tackle accurately your player takes time to get up and reposition himself. It's best to use the fast jockey.

With evey update fifa make it even worse to control players while defending. In previous games it was easier. Now it selects players that shouldn't be selected in your right state of mind.

Defending in fifa 20 is unrealistic. I find my full backs exposed a lot even when I play a low block and I have them on stay back while attacking. Also it's very difficult to keep your shape when defending. In fifa 19 I can easily play a highline without my full backs getting exposed and keeping my team shape when defending was easy. Hopefully fifa 21 has changed it back

Don"t bother I have been playing Fifa since it first came out, the game is scripted and the results are tilted heavily towards everybody wins so people don't quit the game, it dose not matter how good you are, you will have patches some times you win and some times you lose, and it is out of your hands, if you accept this keep playing, if not throw the game in the bin where it belongs.

Probably it's a defensive tactic that includes pressing. So defensive style of "pressure after heavy touch", "pressure after loss of ball possession", "constant pressure". But be warned, playing a defensive tactic like that also comes with downsides, leaving more gaps in your defense. - TaZz

HOW THE FUCK even if i'm defensive or very defensive, as soon as i do 1 wrong pass in front of his box (where he is defending with 8 players) i run into a counter attack because my defender are on the middle line alone
