superstar is easily the most influential wrestler who ever lived. look at all the wrestlers and I'm talking big name wrestlers that copied many aspects of superstar's persona...ric flair, hogan, steven auston, when he was a blond...jesse...so many...cause he was the best. if not for vince mcmahon sr. he would have been the biggest of all time...had 10x the chrarisma of hogan...

I feel bad that this guy doesn't get the respect he deserves for influencing Hulk and Jessie. I grew up a Huge Hulkamaniac and my Dad looks like Jessie and talks a little like him and is a heel so I liked him as a commentator as a kid even though he was a heel. I never knew how much Superstar influenced them until today almost 30 years later. Seems like one of the great men in wrestling too. Respect to you Superstar!

I remember seeing old clips and seeing graham for the 1st time, i told my bro, look at that man, its not hogan its somebody before hogan and he looks a lot like him, hogan must have copied him and indeed Graham was more cut than Hogan with a very bodybuilder like physique which was a feat in itself at this time

I watched Jesse and many others try and do Super Star Billy Graham back in the day and nobody did it with more style and class and his own persona, than Jesse did. I love Jesse, he's real, humble and could still be macho in a cool way. I miss the arm wrestling contests on the tiny card tables, lmao. I think he even had a trophy for it once? To see two men combined up to 500 to 800 pounds arm wrestling in the early day on a flimsy card table was hilarious and most entertaining to say the least. Then it was gone! Hogan did a good job of it too, mixing his own style, as Hogan obviously looked up to Billy as well, but there was a riff for a short time when Billy was suffering health problems, but they worked it out, if I remember correctly? Hogan was pretty hurt by it, because he really liked Billy, enough to emulate some of Billy's style into his own. I think all is good now though? Billy is a tough act to follow. I mean he was pumping 600 pounds off his chest working out with Arnold S. In the early days. That's baddazzzz...

You know these interviews are pretty cool,I really enjoy listening to these guys from back in the day. but have you noticed, it just seems to me that the heals just have it a little bit more together.. they seem to have a greater sense of appreciation for the business and that they have a greater sense of giving as far as the business is concerned and are very very less likely to criticize,even when criticism would be appropriate.
@HellhammerSS
@HellhammerSS Жыл бұрын
Totally agree with Billy. Good sport about it. They made a name for themselves as individuals, they just used Superstar's look and attitude as a starting point, and then branched off into their own. And when you get older, anyone who idolizes you is golden, when your younger you may see it as copycating and be narrow minded about it. But he takes it the correct way, as a huge complement.
