Think about the lightsaber from "Star Wars," Pokeballs from "Pokémon," or the TARDIS from "Doctor Who" - you spot them and you just know. It's the same with the "Assassin's Creed" series and its iconic hidden blade. Right from the first game, this retractable blade was introduced not just as a stealthy assassination tool, but as a symbol of the creed itself, reflecting the assassins' dedication to discretion and precision.

Assassin's Creed is an open-world, action-adventure, and stealth game franchise published by Ubisoft and developed mainly by its studio Ubisoft Montreal using the game engine Anvil and its more advanced derivatives. Created by Patrice Désilets, Jade Raymond, and Corey May, the Assassin's Creed video game series depicts a fictional millennia-old struggle between the Order of Assassins, who fight for peace and free will, and the Knights Templar, who desire peace through order and control. The series features historical fiction, science fiction, and fictional characters intertwined with real-world historical events and historical figures. In most games, players control a historical Assassin while also playing as an Assassin Initiate or someone caught in the Assassin-Templar conflict in the present-day framing story. ( Confirm and theoretical) and other modern-day family members like subject 16 Clay Kaczmarek being his cousin (distant cousin), his Father, his son? We have a Japanese female assassin, I don’t understand why people are so pissed because we have a black samurai who was apart of history. As long as the story is amazing and the characters are amazing then that’s all what matters.

I love Shao Jun’s boots blade ,she used to be a dancer in palace and damn naoe is beautiful , Naoe is the first known user of pivot blade , who had modified the mechanism to fit a tantō. Famous user:Connor,Naoe,Aveline

Interestingly, I heard a leak about the hidden blade in Shadows will be interchangeable, yes there will be more than one. Similar to prostethic arm in Sekiro, we'll be able to change the hidden blade and have different gameplay advantages. We can use the pivot blade like the trailer, change it to a hidden gun like Ezio's, give it poison, etc...

6:03 although a short piece of lore, the next documented usage of the hidden blade wasn't Giovanni Auditore, but rather Thomas de Carneillon by the early 14th centuary.

@@unicorntomboy9736 the assassin from the ac unity intro where the tutorial is played as a templar. That assassin killed the templar you play as in a cutscene. If further lore is to be believed, this assassin nearly wiped out the entire templar order completely.

I think you'll have to wait for that unfortunately since the game after Shadows is already announced (or rather a trailer leak came out that very likely came from Ubi itself) and it's gonna play in 15th century Germany.

You forgot to mention the Assassin Gauntlet used in AC Syndicate, which featured the grapple hook. In-canon, it was used all the way until the 1940s during WW2

one of my headcanons is that the hidden blade is based on an isu weapon, but modified to fit darius´ techonological limitations of his era. maybe he saw an isu codex detailing it before his exile from persia ¿? cause we dont know exactly what knowledge did darius and company knew of the order of the ancients and, possibly, the hidden truth

Another W vid, dang if we ever got a modern day assassin's creed game with desmond, he coudve had a hidden blade that combines all of his ancestors hidden blades, like he for example he coudve had connors pivet blade, and ezios hidden gun but more modern and hook blade, stuff like that. Oh and he could have the syndicate grapple hook.

It always felt like the statement that the blade needed the sacrifice to operate was a load of hooey, i think that just became the custom and so they told those that wanted to use it that was the case. even if it's considered a minor retcon.

For the characters who only wore 1 hidden blade, why were they almost always worn on the left arm, even after the removal of the ring finger was no longer required? Every character we played as was right-handed, so wouldn't it make more sense for the hidden blade to be on the right arm?

No really, the right hand is needed more for other weapons like swords during direct combat. It's better to have a ring finger missing from your non-dominent hand

I really want Naoe to have a foot blade, for a ninja something like that would be awesome. For Yasuke I'm curious how much "assassin" he will have, for a non stealth character the hidden blade wouldn't see much use, and for someone in full armor (with a helmet so no AC hood), plus ubisoft already said the game will be physics based, so standard AC parkour wouldn't make sense for him, so what AC thing could he still have? Just eagle vision?

I mean, even in older games there were characters who didn't use th hidden blade, didn't wear hoods, no eagle vision n preferred a more aggressive fighting style, yet were still officially classified as members of th assassin's guild, like bartolomeo d'alviano frm ac2. Soo.. not a news

I think it’s stupid to make Eivor female because Odin is a man and u can’t make a reincarnation female each version of Aita was male even Loki was male when he was reborn as Basim so Eivor should have canonically been male
