Kamen Rider is everywhere if you know where to look. We find Kamen Rider references in popular culture in Japan and the West, including Digimon, Bleach, Ahh My Buddha, Fate Stay Night, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and event music like the Aquabats and Powerman 5000.

Yo-Kai Watch Puni Puni has collabbed with Kamen Rider. Like, a ton of Kamen Rider characters are canonically in a Yo-Kai Watch game with Kamen Rider references. Does that count?

In Ben 10: Omniverse, a mysterious masked character called Spanner is introduced who looks very much like a Kamen Rider. He occasionally helps Ben, and it's eventually revealed that he's really his son from the future, Ken, who originally appeared in a one-off, what if episode in the original series. And it isn't a coincidence that he looks like a Kamen Rider. The late great Derrick J Wyatt, lead character designer of Omniverse, was a big tokusatsu fan. And this isn't the only time the franchise touched on tokusatsu. One of Ben's transformations, Way Big, is a big reference to Ultraman.

Like many have said the Masked HERO from Yu-Gi-Oh are one. I wanna say Gamma 1 and 2 from DB Super are rider references but I'm not sure. The ones I'm 100% certain about are: -Sugumi from Alice Gear Aegis, who's based herself off an in universe Rider-style show she watches. -Azur Lane has a few but the biggest are Baltimore, who has some Decade jokes baked in (Passing through cruiser, Final AP Drive) and Ryuujou who is just a walking Kamen Rider reference machine both in game and in the Slow ahead manga. -An anime called Gyrozetter has a blink and you miss it one where 2 of the MCs do Rider 1 and 2's poses together. -Pokemon probably has a lot but Lokix is one (the shiny even looks like Zero-One) and Blaziken Mask from the X&Y anime. -Mumen Rider from One Punch Man -VIEW-TI-FUUUUUL JOE EDIT: Totally forgot about this one. One chapter of the manga "Bandai Kaname Wants to Play" revolves around an OOOs driver where the medals are historical figures instead of animals.

-At the moment in Persona 5, Morgana transforms into a bus by doing his transformation pose like a Kamen Rider. -In the Azur Lane anime, Belfast says "I'm just a maid passing through" while assisting Enterprise. Something similar to Kamen Rider Decade's. -Powerpuff Girls Z's transformation

As I recall, Fred in Big Hero Six has an entire room of hero memorabilia, including either helmets or masks very similar to both Super Sentai and Kamen Rider.

Fun fact: the actor for Woz from Kamen Rider Zi-O Keisuke Watanabe is the main character in the MV Jay Chou's song Won't Cry. The song also featured the main vocalist from Mayday. Fun fact about the band Mayday: they have a MV that heavily featured Ultraman Neos. There are alot of Taiwanese celebrities that are big fans for tokusatsu series. Haiyore Nyaruko-san have a lot of Kamen Rider references. There is an episode of Koreha Zombie desuka where Seraphim performed Burning Divide. I would also heavily debate that Digimon Frontier is heavily inspired by Sentai and Kamen Rider series.

I doubt it's just Taiwanese celeberties, Kamen Rider is big across East Asia and Southeast Asia, same with Super Sentai (though the South Korean dubs of Super Sentai are called Power Rangers, even though they could just call it Syupeo Jeondae to get rid of the reference to the Japanese military by using the Korean word for squadron instead)

I think one of my favorite Kamen Rider inspired sets is the Masked Hero cards in Yu-Gi-Oh technically they were used by Jayden/Judai inthe manga but definitely one of my favorite Decks to use in the TCG

I know it's not from the Japanese version directly, but after Saban's Mask Rider failed to meet the success of Power Rangers after its first season, the music scores/background music in the show was recycled into the Digimon Dub. I think it's a cool connection to note considering they are both mentioned in this video :)

You can't talk about Kamen Rider references in anime without talking about THE loveletter (and studio swan song) to everything Tokusatsu, super-hero, comic books and everything in-between, Samurai Flamenco. Definitely one of my favorite anime of all time. There's too many Rider references in the show to name them all. Just believe me and watch it blind, you're in for a ride.

A show called Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go has a ton of references to all things by Ishinomori. Nova is seen doing Ichigo's pose at the end of the intro and even have a KR inspired team called The Sun Riders.

Okay. One more from me...Did you Know...in "Puffy AmiYumi". Yumi has a childhood friend called "Atchaman" (I think that was their name). The character wears this costume because they were motivated by their personal hero that was bug themed and Atchaman's costume, from my memory, looks too much like a nod to Kamen Rider V3

There's a little known Australian parody series called 'Danger 5' which pays significant tribute to Kamen Rider and Tokusatsu in general. Check out the final battle.

I'm pretty sure You already know, but there is a whole Yugioh archetype called "Masked Hero" where each individual monster is a nod to a specific Kamen rider. They where very meta back in the day.

If you’re looking for something in Disney category for Kamen Rider, a Disney animated series called Amphibia by Matt Braly, has a Kamen Rider reference in season three episode seven’s first half called “Spider-Sprig”. Originally I didn’t know it was a Kamen Rider reference until I read the Amphibia Wiki for the episode because Kamen Rider’s design reminded me of a fictional movie called “Tarantulad: The World I Call Home”. I then learned that it was a Kamen Rider reference. The creator Matt enjoys using media he grew up with and his own Thai culture to influence the making of his show. I am now currently watching Kamen Rider: Zero One and thoroughly enjoying it.

@@mafirasyaharani7836 I didn’t realize that either until I learned about Kamen Rider. The design is based off of Kamen Rider 1, Kuuga and Riderman. The more you know, I guess. I view it now as Matt Braly bringing in East Asian and what SEA watched for heroes like Kamen Rider, and American with their superheroes like Spider-Man. I was so caught up in the Spider-Man references that after learning about Kamen Rider, I instantly made a connection. Now I view this episode’s a half to have a double meaning outside of the Spider-Man meanings.

I like to think the ones in How I Met Your Mother and Liv and Maddie are just accidental references because the producers of those shows probably had no idea what those toys were, they just put them there at random lol. As for the rest of the references in this list, though, I'm sure the people who put those there are actual fans and wanted to give a shout out.

I have a video suggestion that you might find interesting. Whenever Kamen Rider/Ultraman is referenced in Japanese media, it's not really that surprising since both franchises are insanely popular in that country. I think Tokusatsu references in anime, J-drama, or Japanese games are pretty common. What I do think might be interesting is finding a Kamen Rider/Ultraman reference where you absolutely would not expect there to be one such as a Zetton figure appearing in Black Mirror or a parody of Kamen Rider V3 showing up on TV in an episode of Fairly Oddparents. The Kamen Rider wiki has quite a list of non-Japanese shows where Kamen Rider is referenced lol

Another anime with a big Kamen Rider reference is Crayon Shin Chan. Shin Chan's favorite tv show is Action Kamen, renamed Action Bastard for the US gag-dub. While not Kamen Rider, the cartoon series Amphibia does feature an out-of-nowhere tokusatsu reference. In the season 1 episode Snow Day, the entire town goes into hibernation, when the temperature drops. Anne declares she's the town protector, and strikes a Gavan pose. Considering the show also references G Gundam and Shin Getter Robo, it's highly unlikely to be a coincidence.

Oh! I remembered another for your list of KR references. Did you know...in Fairly Oddparents, there's a reference to the bug hero franchise in the show's special "Channel Chasers". In which there's a scene where Timmy is watching TV and one of the things he watches is called "Maso Mushi" (I think that was the name), the character seen on "Maso Mushi" looks a dead ringer of Kamen Rider V3.

Another Digimon/Rider reference that wasn't mentioned was from the recent anime series Ghost Game. Amphimon has an attack called Raiburn Break. Where she does a thunderous flying jump kick. Not only does the posing just look like a Rider kick done by a rider, but when read outloud in romaji it is pronounced Rai-ba Bu-Re-Ku very similar to Rai-da Ki-ku how Rider Kick is pronounced.

Great video. Kamen Rider does show up a lot, and I know about some. In the anime Hayate the Combat Butler, they make references to all kinds of shows. For Kamen Rider, in episode 16 the character Isumi is on the Denliner Traine. As she sits you can see the Owner, Momotaros, and Hana (Older form) pass her by through the reflection on the glass window. I think episode one also does, but I'm not 100% sure about this. Pokemon also has done a few Rider references. In Black and White Ash and Co encounter a character named Charles who dresses as The Mighty Accelguard. He rides a motorcycle and performs a double-rider kick. Thou, his costume looks more like a Sentai. This last one is odd, as I don't understand it. In the Disney show Aaron Stone, they used a blaster from Kamen Rider 555. Not sure which blaster or what it's really talking about. Just an odd fun one I heard about.

7:29 A good chunk of Wormmon's canon evolutions are Kamen Rider references (ironically excluding Pucchimon even though it uses the Digiarmor counterpart of Ken's Crest of Kidness and Kongoumon which uses the Digiarmor of Miracles which was made from Ken's Crest of Kindess or the Digiarmor of Destiny but it's not canon because Golden Digimentals and the Ryo games aren't canon and you can't tell me they are so don't even bother trying), including Shadramon, Stingmon, JewlBeemon, BanchouStingmon (to a lesser extent but the face still references Kamen Rider helmets) and more recently, Hudiemon (Aside from some non-canon Ryuki riders and in spite of how many canonical riders there have been, there is not a single known Kamen Rider based on a butterfly, not even named but unseen DGP participates in Geats, it's weird isn't it?).

FFXIV, summer event had the Phoenix Riser outfit given to all players who completed it. Its similar to Kamen Rider Zi-O's outfit however the suit references more of a Phoenix motif. Anyway, cannot wait for the duo dye system to actually dye it in Zi-O colors.

When the Playstation game, Gravity Rush 2, came out, they released 2 short anime episodes to promote the game. On episode 1, GR Overture, the heroine Kat and her rival turns friend, Raven, are fighting these round blops. They eventually combined power to finish them off with a literal scene for scene double rider kick and even ended with an explosion.

In Reboot s2, e20 “Nullzilla,” the character Phong dresses the characters in Power Rangers-esque outfits, but they’re of beetles. The whole episode features a lot of tokusatsu and anime nods going from Power Rangers to Voltron.

One of the newest and definitely most controversial isekai in the era, Mushoku Tensei has little bits of tokusatsu reference on it, Especially Showa, From Kishirika doing the Rider Jump to Rudeus naming himeself shadowmoon to hide his identity. If they're going to adapt the light novel the same way they do now, There's much more. And where's my Digimon Frontier Explanation!?

in the movie the inmdian in the cupboard, in the birthday scene the kid has an ultraman figure in the cake and in a later scene where the kid is grabbing his toys there is a gridman figure in screen, not kamen rider reference but tokusatsu nontheless and in an ep of malcolm they have a lighting rescue yellow ranger

Kamen Rider to me is like the best thing in which I got influenced by especially Super Sentai, I have nearly completed watching the forgotten entries that Saban never had the chance to adapt, it was definitely worth checking out, binge-watching from the 1970's to the 1980's.

In the Bandai mania video, apparently the entire Mickey Mouse crew is included because why wouldn’t they be, and the only two keys that I think they were missing from the initial set, which could be future releases, are the captain Hook imagination key, and Peter Pan imagination key.

In the chinese show Scissor Sevens season 4 it has something similar to mumen rider, with a normal ninja who now works a convienence storr enables their heroism through a surgical mask and ends up taking down a robber with a dramatic flying kick

When I (re)watched the transformation clips in the Mega Man/Rockman ZX series, especially ZX, the sequence AND the biometal armours themselves straight up had me feeling like I was watching some KR instead and...low and behold, I wasn't far off. For you see, and please do correct me, I did some sleuthing and found that those aspects of the Mega Man/Rockman ZX games ARE/WERE inspired by the likes of KR ^^ ;D

There’s also a metal band called Rest in Gore that has an album cover featuring Kamen Rider and Kamen Rider V3, called “Culinary Buffet of Hacked Innards” now please keep in mind it’s a very gory cover, and the music isn’t my cup of tea, but it’s still cool!

There's a huge reference in the super Mario movie. At the very end Mario and Luigi defeat Bowser with the double rider kick. I literally jumped up and screamed in the theater when it happened.

As a KH and a fake Tokusatsu Fan. That belt made me actually laugh like is that an actual thing? Turns out it is. I started calling it Kamen Rider x-Hearts (Key-Hearts). But yeah there's that weird satisfying feeling of seeing your different hobbies and favourites kinda merging into one with the references. It's why I love crossovers.

Pokémon also has some Kamen Rider References in it's Pokemon designs, Ledian is a very blatant nod, while Lokix looks a lot more like the usual modern Kamen Rider designs

MegaMan ZX/A and Star Force. Henshin minus Belts and Rider Kick. There's also Gravity Rush. There's a sort-of Henshin but the Gravity Kicks are definitely Rider Kicks. (Overture made sure of that)

Tbh I though the Cross Imagination belt was actually a bandai namco and kingdom hearts joint series where they move kingdom hearts into a more kamen rider game series going forward. The keyblade still being their weapon, but changing due to the keys they collect rather than when they solve problems in that world. It is a pity my mind was working overtime with the hype but tbh it's still cool that even the belt is real !
