Rangers fan here, I have to say that I am REALLY REALLY impressed with Vancouver. Feel like I was in the minority for thinking that they were an easy pick compared to Nashville and then for having them likely winning the series over the Edmonton McJesus. Rick Tocchet is just a fantastic coach who gets his teams to play winning hockey. JT Miller is one of my favorite hockey players ever, so proud of him and how far he's come since the days of NY and Tampa. What else can you say about Elias Lindholm. Crucial, absolutely vital pickup playing well at the most important time. Zadorov likewise; I don't know if Carolina truly "won" the trade deadline. Dakota Joshua is a young stud. Can't believe Toronto wasted the chance to have him. Quinn Hughes is THE BEST of the brothers. Yep i said it. The improvement in his game is just Norris-worthy, he will be the best overall D man in hockey as soon as next season. Maybe he already is. And Boeser is just a stud. He's everything NJD wishes they had gotten in Timo, but way more consistent. After last game I said "Imagine where this team would be if Petterson ever manages to escape the shadow realm." Lo and behold, it happened. And now they are one win away, and doing all this while missing Demko AND their second string goaltender, the talented but fragile DeSmith. But what might be the MOST IMPRESSIVE part of Vancouver is the talent and quality of their depth players. Happy to see Di Guiseppe have a role in this one he is a very solid hockey player who does it by the book and rarely ever makes mistakes. Even guys like Myers are just... sturdier than the depth guys on other (Canada) teams. It really shines thru in these playoff series I think. In fact, top to bottom Vancouver is much closer to Dallas in terms of their overall talent level. And yet the sports media concensus: "My boy McDougall gon' win the cup!" -- Kenny Smith or Shaq, probably Ladies and gentleman, take a look: this is the best hope of bringing Stanley back to Canada. This team has a fantastic blend of high end skill, finishing talent, gritty two way players and excellent checking and netminding, that catapulted them to the top of the standings from the very start of the year. And now we are learning THEY HAVE THE RESILIENCY AND DESIRE TO LEGITIMATELY GET THIS DONE FOR THE LONG TORTURED FANS OF VANCOUVER. Its actually quite inspiring! Good on you, boys. Go 'Nucks go. Congrats Shannon - enjoy it as much as you can, I know it must feel like a dream come true. Sincerely from a Rangers fan.

The Canucks team defense under Tocchet is just too much to handle. Silovs playing like Dominic Hasek in goal doesn’t help either. Mad respect to McD and Drai tho cuz they’re battling when other skilled players would just throw in the towel.

I was right there with you on the DiGiuseppe goal. When the refs huddled I was saying "No, no, please, you can't take it away.." and seeing the linesman emphatically pointing at Draisaitl, my respect for that linesman grew immensely. I had another stab of worry that the Canucks might be called for too many men but the entry was legit and the goal stood. That was the point when I had a feeling it was going to be our night. Pickard drove me crazy and I worried that he was going to author another Cinderella story about a backup goalie being thrust into the fray and stealing the series. Thank God, J.T., Petey and Lindholm (not necessarily in that order) that was not the case tonight. Great game. Regardless of what happens from here on in, this has been a dream season and playoffs and speaking as a Canucks fan since the old Western League days (Yes, I'm old and have so many memories of great Canuck moments over 54 years in the NHL) this is a season I'll treasure to the grave.

Despite getting 3 power plays in the first 15 minutes the Oilers got outplayed the rest of the game. I don’t understand why Oilers fans can’t give credit when credit is due. Canucks won almost every one on one puck battle. Like Tochet said “ will is a skill .” Tonight the Canucks will prevailed.

@pyRoy6
@pyRoy6 20 күн бұрын
That must have been a reflex call by the ref...seeing the jump or the (maybe) elbow? Probably shouldn't be called. I don't know if they would have been allowed to discuss it and say "no penalty" and move on, but they probably should allow refs to change their mind, even for things that can't go to review.

i admit i'm rooting for the oilers, but i've unfortunately become a big silovs fan despite not liking the canucks as a whole lmao. bro played in 9 total NHL games prior to these playoffs and he's shown that he can easily be an NHL starting goalie. similarly with pickard, seeing the man live out his dreams and finally get to start/play his first NHL playoff games at age 32 (and playing really well) is fun to see. hope to see this one go to 7 games.

As much of a fan of Demko as I am, I am going to say at this point, and from how he has proved himself, Silovs must be in the net for as long as he continues this run. If Demko comes back and Silovs has a bad game, then maybe you put Demko in, but for right now Silovs is the man. I take back everything I said about the Canucks after Demko went down. Silovs has been great.
