Steve Larmers brother; Jeff Larmer, was my Grade 6 teacher. I was lucky enought to get to meet Steve when we went on our trip to Trent University. Steve was the brother with the better NHL career; but Jeff has the record for most points in a single Memorial Cup Series. Mitch Marner is only holding that record because Jeff recorded those points before they kept records.

Talking about Doug Wilson gave me an idea for a video... I don't think it's been done before, but I could be wrong. The "Doug Wilson" Award: 10 players who are undervalued (under-appreciated) because they played in the same era as someone better. Brad Park comes to mind, he played during Orr's time. It might need a little fine-tuning, but something spotlighting players who are overlooked because of someone else, like Wilson was.

Toews is my favorite hawk but it’s funny because if he was on any other team I probably wouldn’t be a fan. He barks at the refs for every offsides, face off toss, or penalty.

There was a Doug Wilson/Steve Larmer autograph signing in the Chicagoland suburbs a couple of years ago. The price for each ticket was very reasonable, even what some may consider to be a steal. I happened to find a game-issued Wilson stick at a garage sale a few years prior, in addition to a bunch of game-issued Black Hawks pucks and was jumping for joy when I heard that they were both in town doing a signing. Doug was shocked to see the twig, holding it in front of him to verify if it was actually his... and it was. I consider myself lucky to have been able to meet both of these legends.

Loved Tony Esposito and the Mylec hockey mask for street hockey. I got the blackhawks sticker out of the '79 topps cards and put it on my mask, so and the 35 stickers on the other side and will always like Espo from those days.

As a lifelong Hawks fan (I was born in 64) I absolutely agree with your list. My only change would have been to add Esposito because I'm older than you and remember him twirling on his head to stop pucks. I also agree about Roenick. My love affair ended when he and Tkachuk and others completely trashed the hotel they were staying in during the Olympics in Japan. Talk about losing face (Japanese expression for loss of respect). Great call on Secord and Larmer and Graham as well. I have to imagine you don't see Hasek as a Hawk because he simply didn't play enough there. Agree also about Belfour. He would not be on my list either. Well done, Shannon. Well done.

You forgot to mention the sullivan story where a fan taunts him after getting cut by a high stick. Later that game the same fan gets hit by a puck and sullivan immediately makes the fan eat his words.

Eddie Belfour is my all-time favourite, Hawk. I still talk with Allan Secord's Mom on a regular basis. She has some truly fantastic hockey stories! Wilson should be in the HHOF. I still can't stand Kane. (Either of them!) Hasek was Belfour's backup. Stumpy Thomas was very fun to watch.
